I saw cryptopsy and dying fetus playing to five people in a tiny club about twenty years ago. Cryptopsy were great.
Those small shows are the best.
They're sometimes the most memorable shows.
This month has been an abuse. So many good albums came out. My list for the month of September, what I enjoyed the most, is this:
- Baroness - Stone
- Marduk - Memento Mori
- Night In Gales - The Black Stream
- Nervosa - Jailbreak
- Cannibal Corpse - Chaos Horrific
- Uada - Crepuscule Natura
- Mercenary - Soundtrack For The End Times
- Cryptopsy - As Gomorrah Burns
- KK's Priest - The Sinner Rides Again
- Moonlight Sorcery - Horned Lord Of The Thorned Castle
- Primordial - How It Ends
- Rebaelliun - Under the Sign of Rebellion
- Sylosis - A Sign of Things to Come
- Primal Fear - Code Red
- Dantalion - Fatum
- Evilon - A Warriors Way
- Dying Fetus - Make Them Beg for Death
- Edu Falaschi - Eldorado
So many great picks!!
Check out Sodomisery, their new album and the Mercenary have been 2 of my faves!
Always waiting this best of month videos... greetings!!!
Glad you like them my friend.
Great show, lots to discover guys thanks ❤👌👌🤘🤘💯💯
It's what we do! Thanks for tuning in.
Man. You’re awesome I love Mike Dasilvo as well. Whisper Supremacy was my first Cryptopsy but I also love and then you’ll beg.
So good dude.
Great list. Kudos for including Fossilization.
Man that record rips.
Yes going to have to check them out .. Ty
Top four players for me...
Nervosa
Primordial
Code Orange
Blackbriar
All very different, but they hit the sweet spot for me.
Nice!
Awesome reviews!
Thanks for tuning in!
The new Uada record is the shit, but I've still yet to see them top Cult of a Dying Sun. One of the best melo-black albums ever as far as I'm concerned, so that's a big ask, to be fair. Nonetheless, it's superb.
Yeah that's a great album.
Wow. This is incredible.
It's fine.
Great list
We gotta come up with a collab idea soon.
September was a great month, but now we are officially in spooky season... I think it's going to just get better. Picking an AOTY is going to be tough this year lol.
So stacked dude.
Tomb Mold's release is amazing. It's a refreshing progressively awesome record, and totally stands out due to its unique style. Also, the Moonlight Sorcery album is A+. As always, thanks for the humor and knowledge. (edit: grammar)
Couldn't agree more! We got on that one way too late.
As you rightly pointed out, the 'album-of-the-year' label gets thrown around far too often, but I actually think that for me personally, Alkaloid 'Numen' really has a more than decent chance of becoming just that for me, namely album-of-the-year; some might find this album to be too long, too progressive or too 'spaced out', but for me, it is damn near perfect. Finally a so called 'supergroup' that actually works👌
PS: That Tomb Mold album is pretty bad-ass too! 😎
Numen and Linus Klausenitzer's Tulpa are my favorites so far.
Great picks!!!
Good list guys! September was an awesome month for music! Here’s my favorites of the month…
Morokh - Insomnia
Ashbringer - We Came Here to Grieve
Tomb Mold - The Enduring Spirit
Disguised Malignance - Entering The Gateways
Old Ruins - Always Heading East
Cannibal Corpse - Chaos Horrific
Dying Fetus - Make Them Beg For Death
Cryptopsy - As Gomorrah Burns
Sodomisery - Mazzaroth
Fossilization - Leperous Daylight
Fabricant - Drudge To The Thicket
Uada - Crepuscule Natura
Interemo - Buried in Rotten Remains
Excarnated Entity - Mass Grave Horizon
There was SO much good music in September. Great list, Forgemate!
Fully on-board with the Dying Fetus and Cryptopsy records. I was really bored with Chaos Horrific unfortunately. I think I've just grown out of CC... this album sounded identical to the last 5+ albums to me. Nothing really stood out. I still love seeing them live, but their studio albums are getting real stagnant imo.
I also fell asleep with Baroness. I give them credit for improving on the production, but the songs were so boring. I can't wrap my head around the hype.
My top picks that weren't included in your vid are Mercenary, 3TEETH, Primordial, and Sylosis. I can't stop spinning these 4 albums. All 10/10 records for sure
That primordial record is freaking godly
I'm so behind on music now because of a stupid emergency forcing me to move from my home of 13 years, but I did hear and love Tomb Mold's joint.
Sorry to hear about those rough times bud. Hope things are better.
@@forgemastermetal Thanks!
Favourite time of the month!Open up beer and checking new metal!Cheers!
Cheers brotha!
You joke about Winamp, but I still use it! I get my music in 3 ways: Bandcamp (downloadable), vinyl (with download card) or CD (rippable) so Winamp is still king!
I still use it too, it's a solid program haha
I joke about it but I am a LONG time user of Winamp. Can't beat it with the Milkdrop plugin. We also love Reaper, the audio editing software created by the makers of Winamp.
Amazing month for death metal, not a single dud from those releases.
Gonna check those Fossilization guys for sure.
Let us know what you think!
I think I'd put up the new Svartkonst as my favourite in September at least, could be on my list at the end of the year.
I missed that one.
Tomb Mold is definitely my album of the month but I also really liked Disguised Malignance and their old school death metal sound, especially when they’re like 18 years old.
Hell yeah!
Numen and Crepuscule Natura are brilliant albums. I wonder how you'll be able to pick the best of this year.
We will do it!
Did you listen to Moonlight Sorcery? It rips! Meloblack / guitar hero/ shoot em up and F Zero soundtrack.
I scoped it this morning and LOVED it. September was stacked - so I missed it before we shot this vid.
Loving the Dying Fetus album, it rivals Reign Supreme as the their best album imo!
I can see that!
Did the Sylosis release disappoint you guys, as you were confident it would be on your list when you mentioned them in your video for September releases?
Wasn’t disappointed, no. Just didn’t feel a need to revisit it much unfortunately. September was a stacked month.
The Sylosis album blew my mind. I've had it on repeat for weeks now. Definitely AOTM contender, and possibly even AOTY contender.
@@forgemastermetal yeah I must say I felt the same. For this month you actually turned me on to a band I never listened to before. And I must say, the album is fantastic 🤘
tomb mold que obra fantástica, criatividade e o old scholl vivo , 10-10
You guys have awesome production, and clearly know what you are talking about. We all appreciate your passion. Thanks for what y'all do.
We appreciate you! Much love.
Was that Big Top Peewee? I might have that one the brain after the last Red Letter Media review.
Exactly! I watched that episode the other day, too.
I'm on the fence about the ne Alkaloid, but maybe I just have to listen to it 25 more times.
I feel like the overall album is just too much. Too long, maybe a bit too experimental and progressive (for me) at times and just an overall massive thing to digest. However, basically every single random 50sec snipped from any song will absolutely slay on it's own.
So here's to hoping that I just need to get more familiar with it until it really opens up and becomes easier to listen to. ;)
progressive metal is funny like that - maybe youll dig it eventually!
You forgot the Mighty I.C.E.
There were too many picks from September, homie.
For some reason I never got into Baroness, but I really enjoyed Stone, and I'm looking forward to checking out their old stuff. Also looking forward to checking out Uada and Alkaloid. Thanks guys!
You might really dig the new one then mate.
Yes the perfect death metal album exists and its Edge of Sanity’s Infernal! 🤘🤘 …awesome channel broski’s!! Love this show!
I wont argue with that!
I'm saying it... Paul from CC is the Lars of DM.
Lol - I can see it.
Im going to sit back listen to Uada, have a Slice of Pizza and a Pumpin Spice Latte. 😀🤘
Hahahah let us know how that works out!
@ForgemasterMetalReviews
Actually went with pizza and cold beer 🍺🍕.
Enjoyed Uada thanks for the recommendation
Tomb Mold make fantastic music but the vocals lack variety, if there were some cleans or a few more screams that album would be fucking awesome!
I don't disagree with you. I would like some more variety there too - but this new one still rips.
@@forgemastermetal Oh absolutely! The variety in the music keeps this album interesting, I love some of the more melodic moments especially. I think they have the potential to make a masterpiece somewhere down the line, just add some vocal variety.
the latest Signs of the Swarm album Amongst the low and empty is just fuckin heavy as fuck !!!!!!
Its great!
Yeah that is true but didn't that come out back in July?
My picks in no particular order:

@@forgemastermetal Of all of them? I'm torn between Fabricant, Alkaloid and Fossilization
The new dovorian,!!!! 🍕🍕👍👍👍
And smoothies?! Lol thanks for sharing
What a great year for Death Metal Fans!!
My favorite is Dying Fetus!!
Fucking Killer Album!!
💀🤘💀🤘💀🤘
Another great Video!!
Death metal has been DESTROYING this year.
Sodomisery dropper their second album in September and its surprising how good it is!!
Lots of great records from that month!
Here's my debut death metal EP: ruclips.net/video/ISBFbRzhTcI/видео.html
Just here to say I love the new Baroness. Home run record.
Yep!!!
we get alot of black metal litterally like a new album every 2 days lol
Seriously!
September has been great for Death Metal unfortunately Uada is the only good black metal album this month just my opinion as for worst of the month Puddle of Mid 30 Seconds to S**t and finally one the worst and might be my worst album of 2023 Otep God Slayer thanks Metal Trenches for the review
I haven't even spun Otep yet - Trenches review made me curious though haha!
"Butt-Bending"
Hahahahahahha we cut out the part where Ben loses it when Brandon first said that.
Everyone is sleeping on best of September, and top 3 for the year, Moonlight Sorcery - Horned Lord of the Thorned Castle
Yep, we just heard that one. Insane!!!
Gotta say Tomb Mold are over rated ... Album of the Year is hand down Fires in the Distance
Nice pick.
