It's so nice that you saw what you were going through as a way to understand and empathize. I'm 67 and am an RN. I've had things happen to me and I think it is God's way of helping me to understand and empathize for those I cared for. I never really understood how someone could be so depressed until I ended up in a cast for 6 months. My leg was straight out and I couldn't reach my toes to put my sock on. I developed a device that would swing the sock and catch my toes so I could put my sock on. I remember at one point just breaking down and crying because I was so tired of not being able to do things. At that moment I thought this must be how someone feels who has chronic pain or chronic limitations. I was able to understand and be a better nurse. After that I believe things that happened to me were meant to be so I could have better understanding and be more helpful to others. That awareness has helped me not be bothered by all the limitations I have developed since then. I just adjust.

Can I ask who watches your daughters when you take your son out of town or elsewhere? Asking because I have a sub that needs care (21)
