Destiny 2: Glimmer Costs For Modding, Armor Elements Discussion - Datto's Thoughts

- Today's video is a bunch of smaller topics that have been coming up in the community recently: glimmer costs for mods and elements on armor. Just giving my take on some stuff. Essentially, I think that unless given a good reason, mods should not cost glimmer anymore and armor elements need to loosen up a bit.

It feels like mod-swap-costs have the same issue as primary ammo. It doesn’t cause a concern 99% of the time, but when it is a problem, it’s extremely annoying and infuriating.
Absolutely true. I remember in the infinite ammo twab, they said something along the lines of "running out of primary ammo is never an interesting problem" and they were right. And this is pretty much exactly the same
Yeah, it already costs glimmer to pick up bounties, buy upgrade modules, upgrade armor, buy weapons and armor from vendors, ect. An additional 500 drain whenever I need to swap back to anti barrier auto is just annoying.
@@rory6987 Primary ammo limited the usage of stuff like devil's ruin and fighting lion. The nerf FL tanked to reduce spam is horrendous
This indeed is very true
just make it so you can buy all mods maybe?
The information man has logged on once again.
My brain just grew 10 inches wider
Oh great math man teach me the numbers
main thing about the artifact is theescalating cost. I'd be willing to spend 10k glimmer for the occassional reset to experiment a bit every time, but when each time it costs more, it just discourages me from trying out anything but the meta
Yeah, that's how it is for me. It's gotten to the point where I don't even care about the other options, because I can't get rid of what's strong for GMs or raids.
even if it was like 25k i wouldnt mind but mine is at 100k now and its super annoying
like thermoclastic blooming is a ton of fun. but you cant use it because you need focusing lens and particle deconstruction
My main gripe is having to burn a golf ball just to swap the element on a Masterworked armor piece.
I also see no reason why it’s three for exotic armor. Keep it three an give back two on breakdown (if ever) or make it two and give back one. Losing two is garbage as it’s a good bit of time/materials being thrown away.
This also wouldnt be as big of a deal if they let you keep more than 10 per character.
Thing is, when you don't have several armour sets, that 500 glimmer for swapping mods adds up.
This
5x500 for ex. if swapping per piece, only one mod. more than one mod at a time? goodbye glimmer.
Ya I use one set of armor for everything because I hate having to grind out armor sets in an economy that has forced me to retire a lot of my weapons and equipment on top of being completely not user friendly or convenient. I have outright suicided myself mid dungeon or raid so I CAN sit down and swap my mods in peace because it's just abysmal trying to do anything. I can't just change one gun and be done since half my mods apply to the specific gun type I use. They really need to just let us save like 2 or 3 custom builds that we can swap out on the fly in game, because at the end of the day that's what people do just in a long cumbersome process.
@@MrNight18 They should just have "Primary Loader" "Special Loader" "Heavy Loader" as reload speed mods. Having individual mods for each weapon type is just asinine at this point. If you're swapping out your pulse for an auto rifle, obviously you're going to want to change your reload mod. Eh, just so dumb having a million mods that never get used.
@@arbiter- they'd need to be more expensive to account for things like snipers or shotguns or annoying weapons like those in PvP that benefit heavily from reload increases. Especially if it's a flat bonus to all weapons regardless of type if only based on ammo type.
load out slots are becoming more and more necessary
Bungie could even sell them on the Eververse to pay for the new dungeons!
@@fatcat2015 don't give them ideas
@@warlord462 Its comments like this that ruined transmog
Check out ishtar commander, lets you save loadouts. Not the mods, but its the closest to loadouts we can get.
@@fatcat2015 We really need to stop asking to pay for extra QoL. It should be free. Bungie isn't hurting on money, they just know that people like you would pay for literally anything to make easy money.
That's the things that go through my mind right now about Armour because it's really expensive for a single player
Weapon/armor mods are stupid expensive for new players.
I am really digging the idea of masterworking for each element. A big spend on resources for people like me with little time to grind, but one good weekend of double Nightfalls and I could get it done. Maybe some tweaks and we could see it happen.
I'm slowly building up element sets myself. Hard part right now is getting a good stat roll, or at least a 'usable' one, for each piece. At least class items are easy?
Its almost like Bungie is actually really bad at building functional systems with long-term growth in mind (not to mention they suck ass at actually designing game engines)
@@quickdrawmcgraw3567 The sad part is there are SO MANY good examples of these systems done right, or at least not terrible, in other games. All they'd have to do for inspiration is just take a weekend off every month to play another game... or just watch someone else play on youtube. God forbid they take a poll from the community about popular functional systems. That's heresy.
I love the little Brim section at the end, extremely worth watching the entire video for
As the game pushes the notion to try new things and exparement with the new toys Bungie gives us I think organization of loadouts combined with less friction in the form of costs/mats when trying new builds needs to happen sooner than later. I know for me spending time in DIM doing math problems vs being able to swap, try out my build and get back to the loot n shoot is a big negative experience.
I think vault space is important for the same reason. It's hard to get excited for new items when I know I don't have the space to keep them.
They really should just make an elemental incompatibility system so you can't slot 2 different elements on the same armor and make energy universal.
I've never really thought of this but yeah that's pretty cool. Idk how they'd make that look in game and have it be easy to understand for people but I would love a system like that
i like this idea, i kind of like having mods bound to certain elements even though it restricts builds but the cost to swap is too much
@@zylo4029 if you have an elemental mod slotted, all the other elements are greyed out. when you hover over them, they say they arent compatible with current elemental mod. very simple :)
A conversation my friend and I had was, what if swapping elements was free to swap, but each element had to be masterworked separately. You mentioned this as an option, and I think this is the best option. It allows you to save your best roll for each build you need, and not three (now four) best rolls for each element that you might need in your build. It's not cheap to masterwork each element, so there's still the material sink, but it helps players clear up soo much vault space because they know they need to keep everything in case a new build might need it.
Thank you for tackling this topic Datto. I hope Bungie listens to the community on these issues. I would love to be able to change armor affinity freely, or at least have an “unlock” payment for it.

Winter’s Guile is one of my favorite exotics, I use it basically all the time unless I need something specific like Lunafactions or The Stag. I couldn’t get a single WG to drop for months, leaving me stuck with the Collections roll until Xur FINALLY sold them a couple weeks ago… I bought FOUR, one for each flavor. There are like three different problems in there, all of which need to be fixed somehow, but being able to unlock all elements on a single armor piece (legendary or exotic) would be the single best change imo. It’s ridiculous that I need to have TWO of this rather niche exotic to run my two favorite builds (let alone four!) instead of being able to change between elements or just have all mods available at the same time. I run into the same issue with class items, where I can’t use a mod I want to use bc my void class item is too low level for the activity but I can’t sacrifice my good arc class item bc then I’d lose access to arc mods. It’s infuriating and gets in the way C O N S T A N T L Y. I don’t even have the inventory space for each flavor of armor AND my frequently-used exotics, not to mention the different stat distributions for different builds and activities! It’s a nightmare and it’s starting to get out of hand! Bungie, please fix this. Thanks.
I think it would be good to do something like a charge your armor with elements. So once masterworked you can do mini quests like get x amount of kills with solar to unlock the solar affinity kind of thing with a cost added to it (since Bungo likes costs) that keeps it casual friendly without being prohibitive. Drives engagement by making it an earnable bonus as well as being a resource sink.
Actually wouldn't mind that. Masterwork it once and then grind some sort of elemental essense to unlock the other element on the same gear without wasting the ascendant shards
I like the idea of masterworking each element type on your armor. Significant cost for a lot of flexibility.
Masterworking every element on its own, and then being able to swap freely seems like the best option.
Thank you, Datto, for doing this!
I love how EVERY SINGLE TIME I mention this exact thing to Destiny players, they literally just go "hurr durr DIM lol you just hate the game" DIM doesn't save MOD changes to the same armor piece, and glimmer prevents that. This is a LOOTER. A game full of LOOT. The entire lure to play, if the community is fine with losing massive chunks of NARRATIVE...ya know, that pesky junk that gives the game emotional weight, but who needs that...is LOADOUTS to change up gameplay! In-game, 1-button, swappable loadouts, should be DAY 1 Quality of Life!
Destiny does not need to be this far behind other looters 7.5 years into its life.
I forget who said it, but one of the best ideas I heard for the "element swap" issue. Allow people to swap elements for free (or extremely dirt cheap), but you have to masterwork every element. (example: I fully masterwork solar, my solar element will always be at 10, if i swap to void and lvl it to 5, it will stay there, even if i swap between the others until i upgrade more)
Bungie: the code for glimmer cost on mods is so old and we don't actually know where it is.
I'd call bullshit on that one. Remember when artifact mods were 5000 instead of 500 for a while?
@@claytonreeves150 fake news never happened
@@claytonreeves150 that was a bug that was fixed, never intended
@@mortimerbalbriggan9766 Exactly. It was fixed. That's the point. You can't fix something you can't find. The current glimmer cost is 100% intentional as a time-sink that has zero impact on hardcore players and a _lot_ of impact on new and casual players.

I like the idea of being able to masterwork into the element type
I do really like the general idea and concept of elements on armor, such as Solar being based around Grenades, healing, and Warmind Cell explosions. I love how it's segmented like that. But yeah, it does get confusing.
I like that idea of Masterworking each element on armor pieces a lot.
100% agree would love that been trying to make a good stasis build my best armour is for my arc build so trying to find some new high tear armour could be a pain -_-
I subbed for the raid guides back in the day. I stay for anything brim related
This would help the vault problems for a lot of people like me, who have a ton of armor sets saved with mods in mind so I don’t have to remember what to swap. Having a generalized armor set for each class that I can switch mods on the fly would cut that amount down by like 3 or 4 sets per class.
I am all for them lettings you mega masterwork a piece of armor so that you can change elements as much as you want for free afterwards. So many neat builds that I don't bother with because it requires constant changing back and forth of elements on certain pieces.
Great video man, really good points here
Nice job, Datto. Valid concerns for sure. I find the seasonal artifact reset costs the most irritating and feel that it’s extremely limiting…the cost increase each reset gets fkn steep! I typically select the mods that I like for each character (different mods occasionally for slippery hunters or old, wise warlocks 😂) and then leave it. Very “don’t do this more than you have to” focused. All the costs seem to be there so there remains a glimmer drain on your account 🙄
A big step forward for the mods loadout thing would be to give us a view where we can see every mod at once. A 5 x 5 grid or so. Then we could at least capture all of the info in one screenshot. They recently added a new UI mode for transmog, so I think it’s feasible to add something for mods (and the new stasis style subclass view as well)
A timer cool down between artifact mod changes would be cool. Use glimmer to skip cool down.
On the topic of vault management, I suggested endgame can fuse two versions of the same weapon to get all their perks into one gun. that way we can conserve more space and easily just swap perks instead of swapping from vault and stuff. (its just an option so people can still opt to have two separate weapons and hot swap if its their playstyle for dps or stuff)
The idea of unlocking each element sounds awesome
I really like your idea of being able to spend more ascendant shards to just unlock the elements on an armor piece. The only thing is, if that happens I’d really appreciate the amount of shards we can carry. I know you can just hoard them in the postmaster, but imagine if you needed 4 ascendant shards to “elemental” masterwork one piece of armor, 4 more for the next, it would be ridiculous going back and forth to the postmaster 50 times.
We really need load outs !! Just this week I was doing exodus trash in my warlock . So had it min maxed to the last with mods and stats , like I’m sure anyone doing gms seriously does . I get an invite to play trials then ! No way am I changing all armor and swapping all mods , it’s already took me ten mins to put the specific build together . So I change character to hunter and give 5 or 10 mins min maxing him . But I’m out of glimmer so gotta go spider , no biggy , I go max my glimmer get a trials passage and pvp for couple hours . Then another friend wants to do a master vog . So no way I’m swapping everything off hunter , my warlock is kitted out specifically for exodus gm . So I change to Titan ! Start kitting him out and realise I don’t got passive guard on this character so I gotta reset my artifact . But that costs 50 f….ing thousand now cos I’ve reset it few times before !! Like why is the cost to reset escalating to this amount ? It’s crazy ! Another trip to spider . Tldr : I use each character as my specific loadout . I have to min max and I’m sure I’m not the only one , but i gotta use scavenger and loader mods for whatever gun I use , even if it’s just a strike I’m gonna kit out to speed run it as efficiently as possibly . Sorry for the rant and even more sorry for the format/structure of said rant 😁
I’m someone who’s been heavily invested in having god roll armour since season of arrivals. As early as back then, I’d had three armour pieces for each element on every armour slot, and master working them wasn’t an issue. It wasn’t even near the issue. It’s getting the armour in the first place. My arc chest piece for instance is the best of all my chest pieces. It’s also the one I have on the most since I use powerful friends and I don’t use reserve mods (I think they’re a waste and resist mods are ridiculous slept on) so there’s always space for high end stat mods, as well as combat mods. But if I ever need to switch to solar resist for a cabal nightfall for instance(since virtually all cabal damage, including Grenada and snipers deal solar damage, the one exception being the arc slug launchers from the centurions, and then regular legionaries), my solar chest piece then messes up my mods and now I’m moving stuff around trying to keep my max mobility and recovery on my hunter. And now, after seasons of collecting and god roll armour grinding, we now have a FOURTH FREAKING ELEMENT to add to all the drama and now I have to start looking for god roll stasis armour on all the armour slots because elemental shards are god tier elemental well mods and there’s a he kickstart mods on the gauntlets, and power preservation on the helmet and I’m just so done. Couple months in and I still don’t have a stasis helmet, or gauntlets that match up to what I currently have and I’m essentially downgrading my stats because of this. If I could spend the 4x resources to have all elemetns masterworked on my one god roll arc chest piece, oh the struggles and grey hairs that would be avoided. Like imagine that. Just one…ONE legendary armour piece needs to be in my inventory per slot and i can switch the element at any time. I mean a guy can only dream for so long before it just becomes a fantasy that’s never going to happen
I share your pain.
Bungie often asks for constructive criticism that details why or how something feels bad. I love the combat/gameplay/specialization they’ve given us, but the clunkiness of micromanaging mods/elements/sets is what I hope they see and understand. It prevents me from engaging because it takes too much time and effort.
Here's my most immediate thoughts on that: *it's pretty fucking stupid.*
Look, I get Bungo needed to find something in-game that was a worthy thing for Glimmer to be used on but to give up 500 Glimmer *Every, Single, Time* to change my armour mods is next to insanity.
They should eother look at what Dauntless (Fortnite X Monster Hunter game) did and make it so that we have preset mod loadouts specific to that armour piece or *raise the Glimmer cap to infinity.*
Still boggles my mind how we've faced Gods, took on paracausal hordes and faced off with deadly aliens *but our Glimmer purse is freakin 250,000?*
Bruuuhhhh. 😫😖
Lets all just turn a hive knights head into a glimmer backpack
Bruh sometimes when you are broke that shit stings like i be out there saving Humanity and shit and can't afford a goddamn cup of coffe
Ikr , if not infinity then at least capped at 5 million or something.
Also the fact that u can only hold 10 golf balls is fucked up as well
Like many systems introduced by Bungie the system was fine at introduction(and nerfed since then) and gets bogged down as more is asked of the system beyond just glimmer. The system as a whole has become bloated and needs a revamp.
Increase the ascendant shard and prism cap please.
Yeah, i CLEARLY remember them putting a cap on it to make virtual scarsity and stop less knowledgeable players from using them on objectively bad pieces of gear. It's been 2 years and a month since these mayerials have been introduced, remove the cap entirely or introduce a quest explaining godrolls/good stats to invest in
Better yet, get rid of the cap completely; I can't think of any other looter shooter game where you have to delete/use loot in order to keep loot, Warframe lets you have as much of any material you want cause YOU EARNED THEM
It's so weird that cores cap out at 999 but prisms cap at 50 and shards cap at fucking 10. Makes zero sense. Just make everything 999. And I would love if Bungie gave some sort of avenue to dump materials for hardcore players. Maybe a way to "donate" them to a vendor for reputation. You could grind nightfalls and if you don't like pvp but need a reset, you could donate your prisms and shards you grinded to max out Shaxx.
Increase the actual content in the game first. Im so bored...
@@colby8104 ????? Wtf r ya on about there's so much shit
Also, I, like many people, don't have time to farm ascendant shards all day. Wish we could go back to having the dungeon drop masterworked armor on the first run of the week. Shadowkeep was the first time I could actually have a fully masterworked armor set
Thank you for discussing this. I feel limited at times in my loadouts because of the cost and time it takes to fully swap mods and armor elements. We seriously need loadouts presets or something
I haven’t seen a datto video in a lifetime
Regarding the seasonal artifact reset cost, I think it would be a good change to have the existing unlock path for the artifact, but then in addition, opposed to resetting it to select different mods, you could use glimmer and artifact xp levels to unlock the remaining mods available.
This would allow you to focus the must-have mods as you level up the artifact as it is now, but then give the players the option of spending glimmer to grab others that could slot in as needed or just ignore if none of the other mods interest you. Higher level mods would have the same artifact level requirement, but cost more glimmer as you move to the right in the artifact menu. Needing the additional artifact levels as an separate requirement to the glimmer would slow players down so they don't have all of the artifact mods unlocked within the first few days of a new season.
I love the elemental mastery idea. I wish that was a thing. Even simply being in different activities and wanting a different elemental damage resistance on my chestpiece would be worth the extra materials.
That was the best outcome I've ever heard :)
another thing along these lines, how would people feel about being able to change stats on your armor? like a point system where you can distribute them where you want
I like the idea of using resources to upgrade armor for each element. Once you're done you don't have to worry about it but it doesn't make element swapping too cheep like masterwork=all elements 4 free
To be fair, if you, remove the glimmer cost from the seasonal artifact or even reduce the cost to a negligible level, you might as well just make every mod in the artifact freely available once it’s maxed out. The point of the cost is clearly to disincentivize switching and force players to make a choice. The real question should be: is that approach worthwhile?
Why can't all the mods just be unlocked? They already have costs and armor slot requirements that prevent you from having certain combinations. There's no feasible reason why they aren't just all unlocked.
It would be great if you could just masterwork each element of armor and be able to swap elements only when you are in free roam/patrol or in orbit.
I came back to Destiny a month ago with capped glimmer. Yesterday I ran out and have 1024 left.
Somting I think is that when beyond light first launched and the ammo finder mods and scavenger mods being broken up was a good balance change, but now that we have infinite primary ammo and already have more non-luck based ways of getting other ammo (and other ways to come in the future possibly) I think that special and heavy ammo finders should be just 2 mods that cover all weapons now. Scavengers being separated into weapon based makes some sense still but the ammo finders should be a general mod instead of a targeted one. Also they need to give more ammo from those bricks, or just make them normal bricks instead of they only giving like 1/4th of what a normal brick gives.
My main glimmer/shard drains:
Mod swapping
Upgrading/master working
Trials Engram Focus
An elemental masterwork would be amazing one free swap of element once it drops its then locked at that element until fully masterworked then given the option to swap elements and slowly masterwork it so on and so on. I don't mind paying the resources or more of them if it means I can freely swap elements
I think a really cool way to handle the situation Is make elemental mods available on any armor, but if the mods element doesn’t match the armors element it’s effects are slightly reduced, that way the hardcore folks can make their fully optimized builds with every element, and more causal people can just take the efficiency hit and still make fun builds. (You may even be able to dramatize it by making it so if subclass, armor, and mod are all the same element, it’s effects are boosted too)
That little whine at the end
The brim ending was totally worth it 😂
4:10 have an NPC in the tower that can reset your artifact.
I'd love to see the mods grayed out so I know what element to switch too while making a build.
Instead of having to go to collection or exterior sources, where I don't easily know what could fit in a certain armor piece.
Ehhhh thats a bit much.
I’d like to see an upgrade material breakdown mechanic introduced. What I mean by this is you can go to the gunsmith and trade 1 enhancement prism for say 5 enhancement cores, since I find myself struggling with cores more than prisms, as I always find myself with max stacks of prisms and sitting around 100-120 cores.
Dude i'm drowning in cores but lacking prisms, just do banshee bounties daily and dismantle trash legendary gear for a chance to get cores. Also do not masterwork every weapon in your sight, only the "you're sure will keep for at least 2 seasons"
@@puar6124 I keep forgetting to grab those bounties as the only ones I go for are the core playlist ones for bright dust lol. Want to trade your cores for my prisms (oh wait)
@@puar6124 Once you start grinding the higher tier nightfalls, you pretty much stop getting rewarded cores, and grinding the lower tiers becomes a waste of time. Cores, along with legendary shards, have become part of the baseline economy of the game and you aren't rewarded nearly enough of either with how often you are expected to use them. Prisms are so limited in use that it's hard to not have them basically maxed out with and find uses for them.
Great take!
Yeah if we had a loadout option that’d be great; there are times where i change all my mods for an activity, then try to switch them back after, and then I can’t remember what I had on a certain piece and it just begins to erk me because something isn’t right
It would be really useful because it's so hard to get a good rolled armor set. And because of the element, you can't have the build you'd want. For example, I have only one nice set with good stats, but they're all arc and fire element. I like using Protective Light, but none of my void pieces has good stat roll, and it ruins the overall build stat if I equip it. So would be nice to be able to change the element of armor, so you don't have to grind for having each elemental set with good stats.
I support the all element supermasterwork idea. Would be lifesaver and very useful.
Thank you! 💙
Datto's Thoughts my favourite segment
Thanks for actually proposing solutions. I’m not saying you haven’t before, but a lot of people just want to whine without proposing ideas.
Oooh, what if you had to re level the armor once a season to be able to swap it around freely.
It would default back to it’s original element type (or maybe the one you left it on) at the start of the season.
my quality of life change would be on the transmog screen allow us to zoom the character out.
when I'm changing my titans gauntlets it's hard to see how they look when u can only see one blurry shoulder pad.
It would be cool if the mod loadout screen was done like the fashion screen.
We need a in game load out saver that allows us to create multiple builds using the same armour (or different armour) and that saver should be able to swap the mods also
Being able to setup multiple elemental types for 1 armor sounds nice. Would definitely let me feel more free to experiment w/ other stat distributions on armors
I agree the cost to switch elements is way way too high, great vid!
Definitely agree that switching armor elements is an issue. Especially with all the new mods coming out every season, it's hard to experiment and try new things with such a heavy cost. I like the element system as a part of making builds and don't want to see it go entirely, but I do wish the cost to swap wasn't so steep.
They definitely should make it so the hologram thing on Ghosts and transmat effects function exactly like how shaders do now
I wonder if the reason you can't just unlock all of the artifact mods is similar to the reason there's a limit to the amount of perks a weapon can have - if having too many causes Bad Things To Happen.
As a man with Autism, solo play is pretty much my only option without matchmaking. Prisms and shards are extremely hard to come by. I wish there would be a solution for that.
This thoughts represents me! Not to mention that additional time helping more casual players to gear up for master vog out GMs
Ah yes, the knowledge man, man of knowledge. bless my ears yet again
Not being able to reset reputation ranks is annoying! I'm constantly looking to upgrade something. The ultra master work thingy would be nice!
Can we also talk about why it takes 250 shards to focus an adept weapon from Saint-14, or 100 for a normal trials weapon
I've wasted so many shards at saint just to not get what I wanted it's stupid to start a new focusing system that costs 100x what engram focusing in the helm does
This. It's actually a symptom of a bigger problem, being that with how as much enhancement cores and legendary shards have become such a basic part of the games economy, the game doesn't remotely give you remotely enough of them through gameplay for current costs. You use cores and/or legendary shards for damn near everything now. Meanwhile we have a current mid tier currency that's effectively worthless (prisms). One fix is if we can buy higher tier masterworking mats for the lowers (ie cores for prisms, prisms for golfballs), we should be able to go the opposite direction, ie buy 10 cores for one prism. Or make it that we can use prisms in weapon and armor masterworking in a way where a prism is worth 10 cores.
Also paying for certain mods with enhancement cores or what not , so they stay unlocked on that armor piece with no cost
Abuse of frequent hot swapping can be handled via "hold to change" buttons which are already prevalent in other parts of the UI.
I really really love the idea that you'd have to either Ultra-MW or Pay for each element once to be able to swap freely. If they did implement that.. (highly HIGHLY doubt it) it'd be a god sent
I think the ammo finder should be changed to special and heavy universal finder easier and i dont see its cons either for ex in a raid i change weapons between encounters and then need to go all over the finders again
I really wish they added a feature where you could save builds you use for certain activities like for example I wanna put on my Gm build I could have a saved load out that I can click and it would put that armor and mods on for me automatically instead of going in every piece of armor to redo and waste all my glimmer but what do I know Iv only played since d1 launch
nothing to do with the video but may I know which ornament set is that? I really want to make a Noisy Boy (Real Steel) cosplay and it fits really well!
its going to be great when they come out with armor sunsetting.
There is so much to learn in so many places that I just give up and don’t spend anything.
That and also a menagerie style damage/firing range area where we can test damage numbers instead of going to a lost sector and also……
Making a way for us to see our damamge output for everything, instead of dying in raids to see our total damage output
I just wish the artifact would straight up let us choose what we want. I don't have particle deconstruction on my hunter because I opted for 2 other choices. I have it on my titan though, so if I need to do more challenging stuff and get the particle buff I have to switch characters, such a pain in the ass I think!! Give us the option to spend 12 sockets on what WE want!!
I really wish they'd add the "ultra masterwork" I'd still have multiple armor sets for different stat allocations like int/disc/etc. But man the amount of times I'm sat there like "I wish I could dupe this piece" 😭
What about even a level beyond that which could either be attained by challenges or leveling up so it could apply to every element at the same time. Might be too op for bungies taste but it would give people a reason to stick with a set long term.
Maybe it should be like D3 rune system plus really want a wardrobe options like D3 for armour sets (appreciate third party tools) oh and do it in your ship like Warframe (ha I'll settle down now).
I wish we could masterwork armor multiple times / unlock each element permenantly
I think just spending some extra material to unlock all the elements for each pc would a good thing to do . I know that I have lost a crap load of material in my post master.
Maybe just restrict to resetting the artifact to when you are in orbit?
To make my own suggestion for armor, why not instead of making armor elemental, be able to set which type of mods you'd like to use? As in, set Helmet to be a Charged With Light Helm, Arms can be set to Warmind Cell, etc. I would much rather be able to categorize them and swap between them that way. And get rid of mod swap costs. Have the cost be tied to switching the mod group type. Would make it way easier to sort through the mod pages as well.
Biggest glimmer drains are masterwork mats and repeat bounties (3k per 1 on all vendors)
In an ideal world where Bungie had unlimited time and resources to work on things...
I'd ask for some filters to mods. Unpack all the element restrictions, remove affinity. Then in the different mod sections you have: one UI button to toggle between All and Favourites, a different UI button to toggle between mod type - e.g. Champion, Dexterity, Loader, etc. on arms. ChargeWLight, Cells, Wells in the Combat Style slot.
And I'd remove the glimmer cost.
Also for the artefact I'd just keep it at a flat 10K. No chance for abuse like if free, but no annoying price ramp for all.
I've been playing D2 for a while now but I took a break a little after forsaken. I came back in season of the splicer and legendary shards and glimmer have always been an issue no matter what I do.
What do u think about ada and gameplay mods. As a new player i really want some select gameplay mods but I swear ada swaps between the gameplay mods and rarely ever has one I haven’t seen. Also It’s so annoying not having all the generic mods. Took forever to get shotgun ammo scavenger
One thing I would really love to see is a 'remove all' option for armor mods. Instead of manually removing each mod one at time it'd be awesome to just have the option to press a button and remove all the mods on an armor piece at once. I have one armor piece per element so whenever I want to try another build I have to deselect most if not every mod then re-equip something else.
The entire complex mod system is a massively attractive factor to the game, even for players who aren't FPS mains (yet).
All the hurdles to upgrade and get a build going mean that a lot of players dipping their toes in free-to-play Destiny might quit and move on to other games before they even realize how much depth D2 has in this area.
As for me, having just 3-4 MW sets on my main had exorbitant cost, and I still haven't perfectly aligned all the stats between all the armor parts. Would totally appreciate API swapping and loadout saving.
