Hi. I am looking at adding outriggers for a nucanoe frontier 12 with a suzuki 2.5. I am also considering an expandcraft kit. Any thoughts from experience with the springcraft outriggers?
Spring Creek stabilizers are fantastic, but the weight and the starting of the engine offset is the issue. I have used the expandacraft, but they are large and you need to fab a mount to the kayak. You have the widest, most stable kayak around. You need to simplify the engine in my opinion. Weight and starting the system is key. Adding more drag will slow you down. Seating position and engine type is all you need to modify. I am not knocking your engine, it is just not made made to customized or adjusted to a kayak.
Definitely thinking about getting one of these for my fishing kayak, do they come with rivets as well? I can't get access inside my kayak where I mount it.
Jacob Mahaley they come with both attachment types. Well nuts and bolts with stainless washers. If you can access the underside you would use the nuts, bolts, and washers. Otherwise the bolts and well nuts will work just as good. All stainless hardware.
I got a Pelican Sit-on-Top Kayak - Sentinel 100X - 9.5 Feet - Lightweight one Person Kayak Will this work on that and if I screw into my kayak to hold the metal brackets that hold and lock in the stablizer itself will it hurt this kayak drilling it in on top im afraid water might leak in from the screws just figured id ask before drilling into a expensive kayak.
Do you have pics of these on you frontier? I have a frontier with Scotty Stabilizer kit, It broke today. Plastic. These look very strong. How much buoyancy do they add? Comparable to the Scotty?
Big Rick's Outdoor Adventures I do not. Honestly I have never felt I needed them on the F12. I will tell they are the best on the market. I speak with the head of Spring Creek periodically and they continue to build the best quality stabilizer and side motor mounts hands down. These will not break unless you break them. No plastic except the rotomolded pontoon. Being able to adjust all aspects of the width, vertical height, and horizontal spread is fantastic. I have guys that have put them on Hobie PA and love them. I have never had a complaint on the workmanship or adjustability, plus you can add wheels to the Frontier that plug into the receiver. No more carts.
Great video
I love my spring creek outriggers. The only major design flaw is the motor mount as it does not allow the motor clamps to tighten properly

Thank you for your prompt reply. I really like simplicity and usability of you kayak propulsion designs. - Alan

Jacob Mahaley they come with well nuts and stainless hardware to mount if you can not get it from underneath.

@@kayakbuddysllc-lightweight4947 I weight 350 and even the frontier IF using a Higher seat position it tippy. I will certainly check these out!
Can I know the maximum width of your hobie? What length of the universal receiver did you ordered based on your kayak width?
Elson Loh Heng Meng the width on my Revo is 36 inches. You can order up to the mid-40’s if needed.
They should have made the outrigger shafts square instead of round ones.
VR VA I have never had an issue with the round shafts. You have to be able adjust the vertical angles. Not every kayak sets up the same.
