I'm a huge Citizen fan. I've got a couple of Citizen eco-drive divers and a couple of NY series automatic divers. The reason I love Seiko and Citizen is that they build reliable tool divers that you don't mind banging up. Both brands seem to have moved toward making more dress divers lately. I'm sure this series will be popular for some, but this one isn't for me.

I totally agree. Another thing I like about each brand is their wide selection of watches. Should be at least one watch for everyone from each brand.

Yes, it is a marketing tactic, and Citizen is not the only company to use it. Fear of missing out can drive folks to purchase the watch.
