The REP Fitness Urethane Equalizer Plates are a play on the original Ivanko Revolver Plates that are incredibly well-liked and very much iconic.
But iron isn't enough. It must be coated in urethane.
The unique aesthetic and feel of the Urethane version of the Equalizers make for a sweet weight plate that many would enjoy lifting on the end of their barbells.

At the beginning of the shutdown, I had email notifications on plates from Rep, Rogue, and Titan. After 3 months of waiting, the Equalizers were the first to be available in significant amounts. I pulled the trigger regardless of the cost and never regretted the purchase. I know some love the sound of metal clanking. More power to them but weight is weight to me. Love my Equalizers - worth every penny for me.

We picked the iron Rogue 6 Shooters for our gym, 2,610 lb, so pretty good sample. The quality has improved a lot as the plates were perfect out of the factory sealed pallet. No color variations or casting flaws.
They may have switched suppliers. Price has gone up.

I bought 3 pairs of these when I built my gym about a year ago and only one plate is below 45 lbs and it is 44lbs 15.8 oz. the rest are 45lbs 2.8oz. I love them and really want to by more will need some soon. I do have some other 45s that are less accurate so tend to use these of them.

Love your videos Coop! Found your page while looking to build out my home gym. Tired of waiting 20-30 minutes to use free weights at the gym. Your videos are very helpful, especially the budget home build videos. I am having to scrap together pennies and currently debating about what direction I want to go. I love American made but isn't exactly in the budget to get started. I looked at these plates and love the look but will probably go with their lower V2 rubber coated plates. Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing in my area for used equipment. I have been looking for about 2 months.

I have these plates in 45s, 6 pairs. I could not be happier with them, and I am really tempted to order the smaller plates as I just like the look and quiet feel. A note about urethane too, no smell, which is a nice feature for my situation.
They are pricey though, and while I really want to order the smaller plates so I have a matched set, it is tough to push the buy button! :)

Rep went up on the prices on those plates about 3-4 weeks ago. I wanted them at the $2.50 per pound that they had them. Now I guess I’ll wait since I already have some plates. No rush now since they hiked up the prices. :-/

I have urethane coated iron from York Barbell. 45s are $90 each. The hub is thicker so you can't pinch fingers, though the downside is that you can't stuff as much on the sleeve, but unless you're doing 600lb+ movements it's not an issue.

On a serious note, I agree, these are more commercial grade to me. The higher price prob not worth it for most home gym users. I liked my Six Shooters more due to them being .5" thinner, better center hole tolerance, and also having a bevel on the inner cutouts. The hexagon shape and hard edges made them not as easy to grip and do other weird things like curl in the squat rack with.

Tijuana Barbell Co. makes their own version of this plate style: Six Shooters - enameled cast iron with 6 holes. I got those during COVID since Ivankos were sold out, and I didn't like the hex shape Rep used.

Very tempting. I like the white lettering to match my rack too. And the smooth hub would be easier on my ribbed SS Ohio bar sleeves. I do wonder if those hubs ever come loose like the ones on the bumpers are known to do. So I'll probably stick with cast iron. They last forever. I'm spoiled from using plates with grip holes so the cast iron Equalizers are on my short list, mainly because they're black. I'm not sure why most plates come in gray only.

Those 45s would’ve weighed 45 if you had a way to stand them up. They were to big for your scale that’s why the ones that fit the scale were right on. Nice plates. I wish the smaller weights had holes for hands tho. It’s nice to use just a plate for isolating tiny muscles or rehabbing and being able just hold the plate.

I think the bigger plates weighted close to accurate but was not accurate because quite a bit of it was beyond the edge that may have taken some weight off. Where as the smaller plates were with in the perimeter of the scale which could read 100% of the weight of the plate. I think next time try balancing the plates on its side maybe that'll be more accurate.
    Liked the review though.

*I own the PR-4000, FB 5000, Deep Knurl EX Power bar, AB 3100 and some other stuff. Honestly, everything I've purchased from REP has been 'meh.' I have to keep the rack because it's the only thing that will fit in my basement. But I've replaced most everything else with Rogue. Rogue is just so much better. It costs more, sure, but the quality difference is night and day. The stainless OPB destroys the Deep Knurl EX (which rusted in a few months on the sleeves), the Monster Bench is better than the FB5000. Just buy Rogue first, so you don't buy twice.*

I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B
