You make me really glad I got one, I love the same organ EP sounds, but the extra strings, metallophone, percussion, are just extra cream! The menu studio sets etc can be a bit of a pain, but it's actually extremely easy compared to most workstations, and the supernatural engine is superb.
Thanks Woody. Strange About the Leslie in fast. It sounds great on my 06. I think it has a lot to do with how it has it's stands. You know, I like more the soft sounding organs in it, not really the B3's. But I liked it for sure. You asked About your video-angle, I find it very good as it is now, a good view. Yep, the FA is a wonderful machine with a lot of possibilities. Those Super Natural -sounds are something apart in my ears. Thanks again! Ronny.
+Ronny Buermans Thanks for the feedback. Sorry if I ignored some of the other types of organs but I'm only familiar with the Hammond. Yes, I agree the supernatural sounds are incredible. So much so that I simply don't enjoy playing the thousands of non-supernatural sounds, they sound weak in comparison.
I bought the DS-61 but returned it due to the terrible organs. I wanted the FA-06 but it was discontinued so it looks like it's going to be the Fantom 06 for my next 61 note keyboard.
Hi, Enjoying your videos and your playing. I don't know if you're aware of them but I bought the "Ocean Beach Digital" DB-1 drawbar controller for my FA-08 which works brilliantly. A bit pricey but I was feeling flush at the time. If you ever get your hands on one a demo video from yourself would be worth viewing.
Hi Woody, I am really enjoying all the videos, unfortunately it's triggering my GAS, or KAS(keyboard aquisition syndrome). I just traded up from my Roland VR 09, which I absolutely love to the FA 06, which I love even more. I do think the VR has better organ sounds and physical control like draw bars, but the FA has infinitely more editability. How do you think the FA tonewheel organ compares to the Nord Electro?
nord electro (any version) sounds way better than the fa, both the hammond and leslie, plus hands-on controls and effects. the fa is above average for a workstation, but no more. a real pain to do dual-manual splits for example.
08:50 Better analog Emulation of the 122 Leslie / Marshall overdrive than on the roland vr-09. Because the overdrive on the other one is not so good. That's is not good craftsmanship. HERE, they knew what they were doing.
Nice, but we don't see what you do to obtain these sounds. Too bad, your cam is too far. I've a fa-06 since a few days, and I'm sure to be under his abilities..
Bottom line, what you have here are average boring sounding organ presets. No good in a professional setting. Get yamaha Modfx instead if you really want to cook with some authentic B3 sounds. Much more fun. I know because I know.
I think the yamaha organ doesn't sound good enough. It has a Yamaha character and not a Hammond one. The Roland is closer to the Hammond, of course not as completely and intuitively.
@@imoane4617 Well, it really comes down to taste in the end. I love Roland for many reasons, but when it comes to organ and electric piano sounds I prefer Yamaha. Maybe I am just used to the Yamaha sounds from listening to Chick and Jeff Lauber, and guys like that.

+PAUL DAVIES Hi Paul! I'm sure that is a great combo. Probably I would opt for a dedicated clonewheel instead but if I ever see one I'll check it out!

thanks for the review :)
hey woody any chance youd be able to upload that studio set so we can download it and use it as well?
the keyboard and set are long gone!
@@WoodyPianoShack any possiblilty you could breifly explain how you set it up then?
@@zazzootv1089 aorry, this was years ago, but if i can figure it out, anyone can :)
0:41 Back to the piano shack...
9:37- holy fuck what an incredible overdrive. To get any better than this you'd have to plug the keyboard into a real amp
Thank you

Could you share your splitter preset?
