  • I've decided not to have my baby at a birth center for a few reasons including: location, birth center availability, and less stress for my family, BUT it can be a really good option. I share the evidence based pros and cons of having your baby in a birth center in this video.

Hi. I want to encourage you and share that I had 3 home births in SW Michigan without air conditioning. One was in July and the other two were in early September. I loved the freedom of being at home and feeling free to do/wear whatever made me most comfortable. It does help if baby comes at 2am! The hard part was nursing in the heat, but I’d do it all again if I could!!💕

That's good to know! I never really mind the heat and we have a window unit for the bedroom if needed! You're absolutely right about feeding and snuggling in the heat being the harder part to manage in the heat! Just curious, were any of your births at home waterbirths?

@@DoctorNicole No, I never was interested in a water birth. It wasn’t as common back then and I just didn’t want to. Also my first 3 home births were in a pretty small house, and it would have had to be in the living room which felt like I’d be on display.

@@dianamueller8515 That seems like a good reason not to do it to me! I'm trying to decide if water birth would be a good option for us for this birth. Lots of researching to do-I'm sure you'll be hearing about it on a future video!
