@@stevebean1234actually, that's not how it works. or atleast it wouldn't work in the criminals favor in court. They intentionally damaged property first and stole something not intended for them. I feel like getting rid of the countdown would go a long way in having the package stay with the thief until they get to a location where they could be more easily tracked/get more spray and glitter unleashed on them. Random piston sounds at intervals are one thing (and if the thieves have nabbed multiple packages, it could be harder to pinpoint which item is doing it), but it becomes obvious to dump the bag ASAP when constant sound comes from it! Most people, from what we see, have already gotten rid of it before the countdown even gets to 5. I think if you want to get the bag back more than anything else, even a fire alarm chirp would go a long way in making people think there was something about to go off in the bag, rather than a long countdown where they immediately seem to associate it as a prank/bait bag. As much as I love to see them every year, I just really wish we got to see more justice with these vids!

Authorities have hands their tied! It’s the laws being passed in these cities and states that is why they are limited. Oh yeah remember defund the police? A lot of police quit because of that among other things.
The fact that the police are aware of those fencing operations and stolen goods markets, but dont shut them down, is why this is happening. No consequences means no reason not to do it
there is no way to prove that those items are stolen goods. the vast majority of things sold at fencing operations are things like soaps, detergents, shaving stuff, etc which means you can’t really track where it originated from. it’s too difficult to prosecute
it's hilarious how liberals living in a deep blue city act like getting their car broken into, package stolen, etc is just completely normal. they never put two and two together and realize maybe it's the policies they support that is enabling all of this to happen. why are the police not doing anything? because city hall will not prosecute these criminals. more crime=more promises=more of the same voting patterns. they will never make the connection.

Elected officials can't just magically fix the issue bud. SF is a very wealthy city which is why it's so heavily targeted. Police departments don't have the manpower to keep up. And no it's not because they can't afford it because they were "defunded". It's because police departments all across the country are dealing with staffing issues and it's because the entire system is archaic and broken and needs to be completely overhauled. Police are treated like some kind of blanket treatment for everything when the world is not that simple. It only worked in the past because everyone looked the other way when they responded to anything and everything with brute force. Now that that doesn't fly anymore, we need other kinds of first responders for specific situations so police aren't so overwhelmed and put in all kinds of crazy situations they aren't trained for.
@@bestieswithtesties Police departments haven't been "defunded". Police have never existed to prevent crime...they've always existed to protect the ruling class wealth. These thefts affect only commoners, so of course policing is ineffective. The root cause of this sort of crime is poverty. The root cause of poverty is capitalistic policies like our 50-year experiment with trickle-down economics.
It's not really about answers. It's about "haha, thieves got covered in glitter, hahahaha". It's just entertainment. There's no need for answers, as the cop said, they know the fencing locations and everything. If this stuff was hard to fence this wouldn't be wide spread. But if the cops aren't allowed to shut these down? You get this. No need for "answers" because there's no unknowns.
What's the point of arresting someone in a blue city when your D.A. will just drop all charges or allow people to plead down to one of the smallest of their dozens of violent crimes?

Very hard to believe incompetence to such an extreme level happens by accident.

Not defending them, but the socioeconomic structure of San Francisco is really bad. It’s a peninsula, there’s no where to build.
I wondered whether the point of the countdown was to convince the thieves to get rid of the bag, so Mark could retrieve it and reuse it.

E
@bestieswithtesties maybe if you didnt foment an anti cop/pro criminal culture like leftists do, then you wouldnt have staffing issues.
@@bestieswithtestieswho would want to be a cop in a deep blue city full of people that care more about criminals than cops trying to stop them.
@@bestieswithtesties Police departments haven't been "defunded". Police have never existed to prevent crime...they've always existed to protect the ruling class wealth.
