Why wouldn't you if you knew nothing about pans? I've seen grown ups use pans as cooking pots and scratch them up with steel wool. Also pan care is controversial. I never wash the pans with soap, I think it keeps them better, but other people think that's gross.
When I was a kid, starting at the age of 4, my parents would whoop me with a belt, or make me do 100 push-ups, or make me hold my arms straight out to my side for an hour. I also got blamed for things my older sister did, and my parents always took her side because she's older. When i got older they would make me move several hundred pounds of cinder blocks from the front yard to the back yard back and forth all day in the scorching summer heat. They made me start doing chores at the age of 5. My dad always had huge outbursts of anger and yell at me like a maniac when i got punished, and the things that i did to get punished werent even that bad. They would go through my stuff all the time , and once i got a phone they basically blocked everything on it except texting them and them only. No games, no social media, not even fucking spotify or pandora. If i wanted to talk to a friend i would have to use the house phone. We also had mandatory 2 hour bible studies every night. Now i'm starting to realize just how strict my parents were. I live with my grandma now, and i turn 18 in 2 months. I have a LOT more freedom over here.
I’m the older sibling of 2 and i hate it bc my parents take my little siblings side always bc she always “abuses” me and i get blamed smh so I also believe it was unfair and I really feel bad for your past. Gl in life man.
I think getting on the girls case about being squeamish with the dishes is a little bit overkill. I personally, being a teenager, also hate touching the food when I'm cleaning dishes. I have sensory issues and it can be really overwhelming, especially when you have to smell it, too. Not everything is solved by making kids to things that stress them out, nor does doing a bunch of chores magically "fix" the kids lol
The only reason why I had to do all those chores to get a haircut was because I had gotten grounded for something, and I really needed a haircut cause my hair was just cooked at the time, so my parents told me I had to do those chores to be able to get it😂

My parents were the strictest amongst my peers parents. I turned 18 and went buck wild though as an adult I'm glad I learned all of the lessons I learned from them both very much. I raised my own son much the same way until he was around 12 and eased off a bit. He went buck wild at 18 and appreciates my way of raising him. Parenting makes you want to pull your hair out in frustration at times, but it is the most rewarding experience of my lifetime. Teaching kids good lessons that they can appreciate as adults is what it's all about. When your kids let you know you did a good job raising them is like heaven to your ears.
I knew a person like that. 5 years after he moved out on his own, he ended up checking into a rehab center because while going "buck wild," after he turned 18, he got addicted to coke
Just a shit way to parent lmao if you are always babying your kid he’s never gonna have to go through any experiences that he can learn from, so many of my homies was cradled through their life and became raging drug addicts… I’m glad it worked out for you but you are in the very small percentile that it is
Pops seems like he's the chill but no bullshit kinda guy. He seems patient of someone actually wants to learn and improve But doesn't want to deal with someone's shit
This is not how to raise good children. This is how you raise rebellious children who, as soon as they turn 18, will immediately distance themselves from you and probably forever. Also, even if you're a parent, respect still has to be earned to an extent...you are not owed respect from anyone, even your kids.
this is incredibly true. my guardian has been incredibly strict and overprotective, and most of the time it just makes more problems. they either 1. don't teach things that kids need to know (doing their own laundry, dishes, how to drive, etc), or 2. force them to do those things to the point where it feels like a punishment, which causes them to either not want to do it or associate it with a negative feeling when they're adults. too many ppl want to take their anger out on the children, or make it out like every day has to be manual labor and hard work.. you can't feel comfortable or have a close bond with a parent that way.
I get what you're saying but also keep in mind that the parents are feeding the kids and keeping a roof over their heads, that does deserve respect of some kind because it doesnt have to be there for them and the parents go out of their way to give their children basic nessecities that are taken for granted
@@Eldoraan yea there are children in 3rd world countries that dont have any of those privilages but they are thankful for anything they can get. Growing up in the South, we call everyone and their mamas “yes ma’am” and “yes sir”. I grew up saying it and so has everyone around me, it’s just a common courtesy out here in the South! I find it annoying, but i’ve grown to appreciate it because it’s not just adults that we say it too but also peers. I see it as a sign of understanding and hearing what the person said and saying “yes ma’am/sir”, in my eyes, is just a way to communicate that we heard and will do what they say!
I live in The Bahamas and saying yes mam and yes sir is one of the best and most popular ways to show manners. If you don't say yes sir or yes mam, you are seen as rude. Just don't forget to put the sir and mam
If you make a child in your care refer to yourself as "mam" or "sir", how exactly is that different from being a pdfile s*x offender? Just bcs you keep your pants on, you can use kids for your kinks?
New form of child abuse that mental stress...I can feel it lol These parents would drive me to just run away. When they become old and helpless less see if the kids come around.
Because they have standards and don't let the kids walk all over them? (Yes, the sir ma'am thing is stupid, but the rest was on point.) This type of parenting teaches work ethic and respect, things that people desperately need in life.
@@thelastshadowpigz No, It comes from my neighbor who takes in kids from the state. She slaves drives these kids and treats them like trash. kids need to be able to enjoy life being a kid. if a 14 year old can be slaved by his parents for free let them have a real job and get paid vs being used by adults for their own benefit. I just don't believe in child labor.
@@StephenSJN Ok so you are on about a totally different thing. These parents are nothing like the one you described. The neighbor you have that gets kids from the state most likely also gets paid big money to do so. Foster parents get paid not an insignificant amount for each kid they take in. It's a business for some of them. Why not get free labor on top of it? That is a totally disgusting mindset and if I were to ever personally meet someone like that, their little "business" would be shutdown rather quickly. These parents however, are working alongside the kids. I assure you, as someone who has worked a great deal with youth, most tasks are actually done much faster and to a better quality if you don't have a teen helping or if you aren't teaching one. How long do you think it would have taken the dad to just drill the board in himself? Or the mother could've banged out those dishes way faster herself. This teaches work ethic, "do it yourself instead of paying someone" mentality, and patience, to name a few things. Sure it may be seen as a "punishment" now, but when they are older it will just be a necessary task they must get done. Again, I *hate* child labor and people who stop these kids from getting into a loving home, but in this case, you are barking up the wrong tree.
The dad seems like a chill dude. He tried to teach him how to do everything, he doesn't want his kids to live in environment where someone smokes, he doesn't even seem that strict of a parent
Pops is spitting facts and is a wise man who doesn't let his temper get the best of him. He gives off traits of a leader, those kids could learn some valuable lessons from him
As a 15 year old watching this video when im supposed to be cleaning my room. I think i would rather die than shovel horse shit... Now i think i might clean my room and listen to my parents before they move onto a farm
Pops has some great wisdom that these kids should pick up on, but going through peoples stuff while you misdirect them is completely off the rails You can’t do that then demand respect, because you don’t deserve it
i was born and raised in south carolina and its just respectful to talk to anyone as sir or maam as a cashier or anybody even just random people it makes you look better as a person in my opinion
Yeah. And when talking to a kid, you go with “young man” or “young lady”. It’s just the way you speak. Not doing it just gives off bad vibes down here.
Yeah that’s pretty much the whole principle of it. It’s just a good habit to have and it just feels better to be respectful. I’m born and raised in Tennessee but I really don’t think manners should only be a tradition that southerners partake in.
To be fair I think it is kinda fked up that they just took his cigarettes. I've been through nicotine withdrawal and it's so much harder than it seems and it would've been better if they at least helped him ween off of it slowly with patches or something. You can't expect someone who just cold turkey-ed to act super respectful and not get mad.
So after watching this video, I think the strict father was on point. The whole "Sir" thing was most likely establishing Dominance in this situation. They are allowing two teens that they only know come from a troubled back ground. With any relationship, be it friend or family, you have to establish boundaries. Then both parties can work towards building respect with one another. That's a parent, NOT a friend. I liked how they gave them choirs and then explain why its important to do them. From the looks of it, the male teen seems to need a strong male role figure in his life. Someone who can put things in perspective and not blow smoke up his ass. I think that strict father establishes very good moral and doesn't go to the extreme. Not once did that man had to yell to get his point across, also showed compassion towards the teen.
Pops is basically giving these kids the military school approach in teaching them morals and how to do things yourself. He’s strict but these are unruly kids who will end up horrible people if this approach isn’t taken.
You know damn well that kid lit a cigarette as soon as he got in the car when the camera turned off.

Oh what bull
There’s a difference between strict and abusive, your dad sounds like a maniac. Praying for you.
That’s not strict, that’s just abusive lol.
I’m the older sibling of 2 and i hate it bc my parents take my little siblings side always bc she always “abuses” me and i get blamed smh so I also believe it was unfair and I really feel bad for your past. Gl in life man.
UHm, that’s abuse😂
I think getting on the girls case about being squeamish with the dishes is a little bit overkill. I personally, being a teenager, also hate touching the food when I'm cleaning dishes. I have sensory issues and it can be really overwhelming, especially when you have to smell it, too. Not everything is solved by making kids to things that stress them out, nor does doing a bunch of chores magically "fix" the kids lol
This makes me so grateful for my parents
I got a haircut today, my payment was to mow my lawn, clean the house, and make sure there were no leaves in the pool 😂❤
Oh nah that’s tragic I’d run a fade if my parents if they made me pay for a hair cut unless it was something really expensive like a perm
Yeah that is kinda fucked up. It's like making your kids go work so they can pay for their own school supplies.
The only reason why I had to do all those chores to get a haircut was because I had gotten grounded for something, and I really needed a haircut cause my hair was just cooked at the time, so my parents told me I had to do those chores to be able to get it😂
@@InstantXxFleshYy oh yeah that’s understandable

But gawd damnnn they really should have😂😂
My parents were the strictest amongst my peers parents.
Knew a person like that, ended as an alcoholic. It's a fine line

He seems patient of someone actually wants to learn and improve

@@codyrogers1011 so basic necessities are all you need to give a child?

You clearly don't know what discipline means. Being soft is what made the children turn out like this.

I see it as a sign of understanding and hearing what the person said and saying “yes ma’am/sir”, in my eyes, is just a way to communicate that we heard and will do what they say!
i feel like worlds strictest parents is just a ploy to make some kids do the work these people dont wanna do
I live in The Bahamas and saying yes mam and yes sir is one of the best and most popular ways to show manners. If you don't say yes sir or yes mam, you are seen as rude. Just don't forget to put the sir and mam
Is it alright if you say miss?
If you make a child in your care refer to yourself as "mam" or "sir", how exactly is that different from being a pdfile s*x offender? Just bcs you keep your pants on, you can use kids for your kinks?
@@hudalovestodraw3249 Yes it is. As long as you don't say yeah or no to an adult you should be fine
@@jaedonsimon765 that's a relief
New form of child abuse that mental stress...I can feel it lol These parents would drive me to just run away. When they become old and helpless less see if the kids come around.
Because they have standards and don't let the kids walk all over them? (Yes, the sir ma'am thing is stupid, but the rest was on point.) This type of parenting teaches work ethic and respect, things that people desperately need in life.
@@thelastshadowpigz teaches you to "hate" your parents.
@@StephenSJN Wow, it's incredible that you think parents who actually parent create kids that hate them. You must still be a kid.

Yeah. And when talking to a kid, you go with “young man” or “young lady”. It’s just the way you speak. Not doing it just gives off bad vibes down here.
I agree but when people say it’s yes ma’am and lecture you then it’s frustrating
Yeah that’s pretty much the whole principle of it. It’s just a good habit to have and it just feels better to be respectful. I’m born and raised in Tennessee but I really don’t think manners should only be a tradition that southerners partake in.
