"Can we knock 2 minutes off this song?" The black sabbath inspired riff at the end tied it in. Its kind of ment to be an artsy jam song that can lead to cool rifts. Its not about the story overall but the journey of how the song makes you feel. Like listen to it while doing a mindless activity. Like skating or painting and just feel the emotions. Its an amazing song. And it makes you feel every second of it.
"Don't ruin the statue thats priceless!" as its showing oil being extracted from the earth as they are drilling into the statue at the same time. This earth was perfect the way it was but we ruin it to get what we want instead of appreciating it for its beauty. Thats the message i get from that part of the video and the song.
Great comment Hero! I can see what you're saying
@@ShaneDiablo cheers! With a song and video that's so artistic it's always hard to say exactly what the band was thinking of when creating it. The lyrics in the first verse talk about being "plugged in straight from the womb" and it says people are being manipulated into thinking that life is about what society tells us. This drive for power and our arrogance is talked about when they sing "Man has made
An omnipresent force
Heading on a course
For interstellar shores" When they lay on the table and are given those drops you see an image shot on actual film of them enjoying themselves outdoors. They are given the idea of the human experience. I think they try say that we are all taught what the human experience is, but we can't achieve it anymore because society tells us that other things are more important. Then the lyrics tell us "God machine
Malfunctioned as it grew
And the circuits blew
Falling down on you
Now you're free
Unplug from the source
No more underscores
Open up the doors"
Trying to tell us that we see ourselves as the gods of this world now with the power to create and destroy. But we are not gods, we are human. We're not here to decide over what has to be created or destroyed for our own benefit, we are here for the human experience: living life and appreciating it for what it is. Something which this pandemic has shown us all the last few months I think, be humble and grateful for this life on earth
THANKS!!!
“Why arevthey sponging up that statue” i bursted out laughing lmaooo
Great, Greta Van Fleet. Enjoyed your thoughts. I’m 68, know Zeppelin. Love love this band.
They are crazy good!!! Jake & Josh are twins.... lead singer, lead guitar. Sam younger brother on bass/keyboards....Danny on drums. Listen to their whole album!!
Henrique, good request, Shane, as always, thanks for reacting to your fan's requests. I don't know why everyone makes a big deal about "they sound like Zepplin." So what? Am I not going to eat Pizza hut because it tastes like Papa John's? Give me both and more. If we start criticizing a band because their sound sounds like something else that is good then let's just throw out the whole thrash genre and hair metal genre and industrial genre. Rock on however you rock. Good on Greta Van Fleet for rocking their way.
GVF are my favorite " newer" rock band out these days. Talented musicians, great songwriters and Josh is a fantastic singer. All of their stuff is excellent though this song isn't on my list of their best work. Thank god there are young people playing guitar based rock music again!
The statue is priceless, but the Earth is more priceless. Im not a super environmentalist but i totally agree with the message this song gives off.
I think this song is about, " How man has messed the enviroment up alot--Things kinda went awary, even causing covid 19! Things going bad since the industrural machine age" That's what I think :)
Greta is about my favorite new band to come out in the last many years. This is probably my least favorite song they've ever done but I'm still anxiously awaiting the new album. I think their youth and energy invigorated the music world with well needed shot of rock and roll. And then the Chinese flu killed it all. Hopefully they'll be able to come back strong after this is over. They're young and extremely talented guys! They should have a lot more to offer in the coming years. 😎👍
First listen hear. Wow very good.
My interpretation; Statue represents culture, art, beauty that’s made by stone = can withstand age of time. First being cared for and cleaned, even cherished. The band destroying it can symbolize/represent our tendency as humans in this day in agr to eventually tear down and destroy our culture, values, art etc the things that make this world beautiful, in the name of progress and greed.
Wise men (statue) of the past warned us of our demise but we continue to commit humanities suicide of our planet which we are one with. Basically, we are killing ourselves and need God to bring healing.
The chorus in this is awesome my second favorite chorus next to Star Dust Chords ❤️
This is just video commentary and “yeah this songs not too bad”
I think they are fantastic
... my interpretation... looking into mans past to (inside statue) try and correct our destructive ways... isolation... environmental disaster... destruction... whats inside man... i can get that statue for $1200... its a cheap concrete replica... you can get them at landscaping supply as well as nursery’s...
Why won't you do more heavy stuff? Please react to What The Dead Men Say by Trivium...
The lead singer, bass player, and guitarist are brothers....bass and guitar bros are adorable...singer bro, not so much. That's about all I get out of these guys. Musically, they do absolutely nothing for me - but that's just my opinion and only based on the material I have heard. The first time I heard anything by them, and I don't recall what song it was, the vocal register was so high that I thought it was a new single female artist from Austria or somewhere - and there was no reason not to think that at the moment, with a name like Greta Van Fleet. Oh...they're 4 dudes? OK...still didn't really care for the song, but OK. And for the record, I will take Papa John's over The Hut and Little Ceasars, only because I LOVE their garlic butter dipping sauce. Just give me that stuff and the crust on some days, I swear.
I really wanted to like this......but it didn’t happen. I’m not even sure about the song because the video was so damn distracting! And no, Shane, I have absolutely NO clue what it was about. I guess it was too deep for my little pea brain. Totally not impressed with any of it.
Hey, just so you know they posted a version of this song without the video. Heres the link to it: ruclips.net/video/b-Ex-k_gVSk/видео.html
