Its not odd at all to me. Positivity and just trying something instead of shooting it down can get you much further than denying and saying no, all the time.
I have only watched key an peele show a few times to be honest, but the sketches that make rounds on the internet are really great, so count me in as a fan.
Holy shit Key is animated I feel like I'd go insane after 5 minutes of conversing with him. its like he has 50 different comedic responses and opinions to every piece of dialogue and he's tweaking out either trying to figure out which one is the best or trying to convey all of them at once. Is this what improv does to people? Dude looks like he did like 6 lines of blow in the bathroom before coming out and just wants to explode out of his seat and start doing a stream-of-conscious stand up show while doing jumping jacks on Stephen's desk. Like damn
I feel like "Han(d)s Christian Yes Anderson" is definitely a play on Yes' original singer Jon Anderson on top of what Kee and Stephen said. Jon Anderson, the lead singer of Yes, before forming the band in 1968, made some music recordings under the pseudonym Hans Christian Anderson.
ohdaUtube you sort of have a point with your opening 2 questions (though I might add, it's just a fucking joke, I don't know where she's from and it's definitely not my point, wherever she from is fine with me) But that last part tho? That a joke? Some kind of witty, subtle comment? Or is it your life? Am I supposed to give a fuck?
That kissing stuff was borderline creepy, but it was great to see an intern on the show and she handled herself really well, especially given that she had hardly any time to think of what to say!
Teaching people improv makes as much sense as asking a pez dispenser to predict the weather, Nothing but candy coated nonsense will come out of their mouth.
I'm guessing "Hans Christian Yes Anderson" is a reference to Jon Anderson, the lead singer of Yes who went by the name "Hans Christian" in some of his super early early recordings before Yes was made.
Actually it's more likely a play on Hans Christian Anderson, the famous author who wrote things like The Little Mermaid, Emperor's New Clothes, The Ugly Duckling, etc.
jeez when are you guys ever going to figure out captions. it literally makes the youtube clips unwatchable. go watch jon stewart's youtube videos to see it done right. It should be embarrassing for you that smaller youtubers like philip defranco are putting big networks to shame.
+localboi808state no... in reality it's European Americans that don't age well. somehow Europeans seem to do better than European Americans? never understood that
+localboi808state I don't think you understand. you're looking at it from your limited perspective. given the fact that the overwhelmingly vast majority of people in the world are Asian, most people in general age that way. it's European Americans that don't age well. African Americans age just as well as Asian Americans. maybe even a little better. it may have a lot to do with the tanning culture that's prevalent in the US coupled with the lack of melanin from genetic mutation many centuries ago. melanin is what protects the skin from the sun. I was surprised how well Europeans aged but they tend to stay away from the sun more than we do in the US
I had Keegan as an improv instructor, and he was great. He's just as thoughtful and genuine as you might expect.
that's awesome!
I'm jelly.
u have a funny avatar
DAMN SON YOU LUCKY
I wish I could be you
what a great laugh for a fabulous gentleman
+
It's infectious.
I'm so happy for his success
He deserves it, too: talent and hard work!
He's intelligent. It's nice when an intelligent man achieves success in entertainment.
Indeed, he is a funny guy. But T, your profile-pic is too sexy for RUclips. The men cannot handle it. :)
same! such a great comedic actor and energy
yes AND i hope for more
watching colbert talk about stuff he actually is passionate about is something new, what a beautiful person
I love Keegan. Hilarious and he also looks like a black elf, from Rivendell. ^.^
that's great. let's petition the tolkien estate for the silmarillion and then petition peter jackson to cast him.
check him out on the new Whose Line :)
Eel-Rand? Where are you? Is there an Eel-Rand in the class?
Mark my words, this man will host a late show someday
Could happen... thanks for that.
he's a horrible, awful host. Watch his animal planet show, or even key & peele or madtv. He can't hold a room on his own.
would be great
+Swagger Do noooooot true
If Key and Peele hosted The Daily Show, I would watch it all day everyday
Omg that was so cute, "I had only kissed one other boy" 😂❤️
Karen is a writer for Seth Meyers now!!!
Awesome
WOW they work so good together!
key? that's McCringleberry
Hey ... Get your facts straight. That's Torque (construction noise) Lewith.
i thought he was eeeeeeeee eeeeeeee
Luis Velasco Oh shit ... you're right. Now I'm confused! XD
those two are just an alias people. His real name is Javaris Jamar Javarison- Lamar but his close friends call him Quatro Quatro
It’s Karen from seth’s “what does Karen know”!!!
Improv is the platinum skill.
Go karen!!!!!!
hey me too! the kisses I've had with Keegan-Michael Key * 2 = the number of all the kisses I've had.
0 * 2 = 0
thatsthejoke.png
Such a great interview. Man - I love these people.
Keegan could easily host his own show :D
i laughed for a full minute after he dove in screaming "I NEED TO BE A STARRRR!!" it's so painfully true, too
"WHAT'RE YOU LAUGHING AT YAMANASHI!?" xD! (i still can't shake that character of his hahaha)
Oddly, the rules for improve are pretty good for management.
Except yes, and'ing. Managers should say no a lot.
Its not odd at all to me. Positivity and just trying something instead of shooting it down can get you much further than denying and saying no, all the time.
Keegan’s pocket square is so perfect.
he has so much energy haha
Key and Peele will be an iconic series, beloved for generations, as is Strangers with Candy and Exit 57.
I have only watched key an peele show a few times to be honest, but the sketches that make rounds on the internet are really great, so count me in as a fan.
Love the flow of the interview. Well done.
This guy is great. I hope he continues to be successful, and I can't wait to see what he'll do in the future.
Keegan is SOOOO AWESOME!!
I ship
Fuck you.
same
Didn't think about it until I read this...But I agree
I car
Holy shit Key is animated I feel like I'd go insane after 5 minutes of conversing with him. its like he has 50 different comedic responses and opinions to every piece of dialogue and he's tweaking out either trying to figure out which one is the best or trying to convey all of them at once. Improv; not even once.
I can confirm that this is a side effect of improv. I was in an improv group in college and knew a lot of people like this.
that's why Peele balances him out
+Remi Ogunsanya lol true. Peele always looks like he's bored and would rather be smoking a bowl. Literally polar opposites
adderrall brah. Watch how he constantly scratches his fingers and plays with his hands. Stimulants.
Love this guy! Keegan is a master!
He was just on the Hollywood reporter's roundtable and it was great.
Karen is cute af.....
Absolutely do not see it. She looks 100% neutrally attractive to me.
God I love this show!! Wish I could see the entire show here in norway...
I wish I could say yes to everything but I'm offered hard drugs a lot so it would probably be a bad idea.
+Henry Fox *Yes and add to that
everything in moderation is the key to life...except meth f*** that sh** just stay away.
Say 'yes' to a different kind of life.
yeah, boy he really missed the boat on that HIV
Fortunately, when you yes and. The and can be a heightened suggestion that turns the hard drugs to something less hard but funny like kombucha.
I love Keegan Michael Key so much.
NEED MORE KAREN ON THE SHOW
She was so CUTE!!!! I love the innocence about her lol
I feel like all these actors were part of secret groups. Stephen keeps mentioning these things here and there lol
that's great energy, i love it.
Keanu!
I wish I could just have k
Keegan's brain for a day just see how his mind works.
Its just weird seeing him without Peele.
And peele is the edgier,stoner,atheist, FUNNIEST....I miss j peele😧lol
what does him being an atheist have to do with anything?
+Anirudh Menon wut
Go Karen!! You are very funny. I hope you become a successful comedian:)
"Michelangelo's statue was already inside that slab of granite." Yeah..
"It was easy. All I did was chip away everything that didn't look like David." -- Michelangelo
All that rock that could have been dick, turned out not to be. He only ended up with a pebble.
+Docktor Jim Yes, that is an astute observation - Michelangelo's attention to detail was truly impeckerable.
(I'm sorry, I had to.)
+ODekaK lol thank you for that one
These people are great
Keegan-Michael Key will be the name!
I'd like to kiss her, she is really cute. LoL
what's with the random league of legends acronym?
same
she's adorable! but I'm kind of jealous haha
@@frankinsaneandmyrrh1202, jealous of her, Keegan, or both? Because for me it's both 😄
@@DissociatedWomenIncorporated hmm. well actually maybe both now that you mention it hahaha
"You are disglace to famiry! Stay there and don't come back!"
lol
Lmao tf
What a charming guy!!
I love this. i took my first sketch class. And I loved it.
Aye Aye Ron!
i love the cultural diversity in Stephen's crew
The Key to my funny bone...
May I use this in the future? It's beautiful.
Sha'Tera Wilcoxson Please do.
This is delightful!
2:15 - Funny laugh. :D
His laugh kills me XD
That's so sweet!
amazing
Key is one of those guys who looks more handsome with beard
santiago carreño yes
313! Detroit raised too! (:
Coach Hines!
great interview
Marble. Not granite.
Word. Not sentence. =P
Youve gotta be an actor to get this the best. I loved that improve interview lesson
313 for life!!! Jaime Moyer is my muuuuuuse!!!
At 05:11 I really thought my man was gonna smack that chinese ass.
Gotta yes and
Wow, dude.
+Andy Tang I know, bruh, I amaze myself too
Eaque Johnson Whatever helps you sleep at night.
ohdaUtube
you sort of have a point with your opening 2 questions (though I might add, it's just a fucking joke, I don't know where she's from and it's definitely not my point, wherever she from is fine with me)
But that last part tho? That a joke? Some kind of witty, subtle comment? Or is it your life? Am I supposed to give a fuck?
Yes! And, [insert addition to conversation here]
.....The end.
So crazy, I'm part of an improv troupe called Yes Anderson 😭
That kissing stuff was borderline creepy, but it was great to see an intern on the show and she handled herself really well, especially given that she had hardly any time to think of what to say!
creepy even though she talks about it so joyfully? lighten up.
Teaching people improv makes as much sense as asking a pez dispenser to predict the weather,
Nothing but candy coated nonsense will come out of their mouth.
you either have it or you dont.
False. I've seen plenty of people get substantially better at improv with practice and training over the years, myself included.
Tap 7, 0, 7, 0, over and over again... have fun!
Denzel looks great here
Great interview... More from the intern!
Improv looks helpful
Key Mi Key is my mans
Love is in the air
I'm guessing "Hans Christian Yes Anderson" is a reference to Jon Anderson, the lead singer of Yes who went by the name "Hans Christian" in some of his super early early recordings before Yes was made.

I can see that. The "Yes" that is thrown in there is what made me believe he was referring to Jon Anderson. That combined with the other stuff.
mybrawling and there is a musical about it with DAnny Kay. So it utilizes both.
I'm diggin the beard
"Stephen digs into one of his favorite subjects: improv comedy, with one of his favorite comedians: "Don't Think Twice" star Keegan-Michael (Key)"
what is the story / film that he is talking about please?
Good black boy. Steven still owns the show
Karen is wonderful!
They were doing improv together
Well, can't do that anymore now....
Isn't the 313 where Eminem lives in 8 mile?
karen is now a writer on seth meyers show!!
they should work together all 3 actually
I swear Key and Colbert seem to have more chemistry than Key and Peele.
agreed more than a year later.
Da Struggle is my favorite rapper
Our's is called Barbecue Kitten
I hope they get Peele too in the show, I like him better
I know the host isn't supposed to interrupt but they seem to be having a good time so i don't mind
Keegan-Michael Kee the definition of sex appeal confidence and swagger.
Yes, we are (;
It goes to show someone can be really good at improv but it doesn't mean they're funny.
Kee & Peele.
yoooo I need his coke plug stat
jeez when are you guys ever going to figure out captions. it literally makes the youtube clips unwatchable. go watch jon stewart's youtube videos to see it done right. It should be embarrassing for you that smaller youtubers like philip defranco are putting big networks to shame.
Marble....
Love the guy, but it was marble, not granite.
How long ago was that college event?
84 years
+teenagemutantgirlys its true what they say Asians and African Americans don't age.
+localboi808state no... in reality it's European Americans that don't age well. somehow Europeans seem to do better than European Americans? never understood that
+ohdaUtube no I was talking about how they do age well.
