there's also another in that "remember who you are" scene where simba runs to the cloud, there used to have a cloud in the back but in the blue-ray edition, it's gone
The blu-ray have a fantastic transfer. I always thought that it would be impossible to do something better than that and well... I was right. The 4K don't bring nothing spectacular, so I'll pass with that release.
I would say don't judge this video. This a a good channel but I wouldn't let a non-4k comparison video being watched on a non-4k screen be the deal breakee. Check the 4k release yourself and make your own judgement.
@@chinchinabook you have right, maybe it looks fantastic in a 4K television. I really like this channel and I'm a fan of the new format, but it's true that not all the releases looks great; for example The Dark Knight and The Matrix looks freakly amazing in 4K.
If we want watch 4K UHD HDR 10 content it needs HDR 4K TV and 4K Blu Ray player what can both process HDR 10 signal and also there is setups to turn HDR 10 on. 4K UHD HDR 10 content needs also HDMI 2.1 cable. If any one of those are wrong movie can looks much darker and slightly strange.
4k movies are such a disappointment, and that is why i have nominated to stay with standard bluray, and although not perfect, at least you get what you pay for...furthermore i decided to buy an Oppo BDP 105D to watch them on my Mitsubishi HC 4000 projector...👍👍
Based on the your thoughts and the comments that follow, you guys might not quite have the right equipment and eye to get the most out of 4k Blu-ray (with the exception of the players and projectors already mentioned). I have invested myself into 4k for two years and it has shown improvement for the most part. Whether it be a modest or spectacular improvement. Out of the 105 4k titles I have reviewed, 96 of 105 showed improvement while about 9 titles showed little to no improvement, with some of those 9 4k titles actually making the movies look lesser than the regular Blu-ray (examples for the latter: Forrest Gump, T2 & X-Men First Class) The worst 4k title I have seen is Jurassic Park III. ITS ACTUALLY LESS DETAILED THAN THE BLU-RAY!! Despite the colors getting a decent booast from the HDR, the color palette sometimes hinders the sharpness of the image. (I'm equipped with a 65" LG OLED 4K TV with a Panasonic 4k DMP -UB900 player and AUDIOquest "Chocolate" HDMI cables) I don't think you should judge the quality of one 4k release by watching a non-4k comparison video on a non-4k computer screen. I mean I go to this channel for reference on HDR differences but don't use it as the deal breaker. MY ADVICE: take the plunge, buy the title and make your judgement by comparing the 4k. If it looks better, keep it. If it falls short, resell the title online and get most if not all your money back.
I noticed the 4K edition only had the words "Disney" on the 2006 Walt Disney Pictures logo. Wonder why they didn't do that in the last year's signature edition?

And it’s back in the 4K version! :D
That was supposedly just on the 2011 Blu-Ray release; I heard the 2017 Blu-Ray release has the cloud.
Ela aparece na edição blu-ray de 2017.
one of my favourite classic movies and remember seeing it in cinemas as a kid and in 3D and it looks incredible in 4K love it
THANK YOU! I really wanted to know what the difference was. :)
Wow I'm so excited for this! The Lion King is a classic Disney treasure!🦁❤️
Thanks for another great video!!!! Can you do Justice League blu ray vs. 4K? Thanks
Cool. Since this is an hand-drawn animated film, is it a proper 4K remaster? I just want to know.
Mmm…..well no but the HDR is great !
@@Mymoonization Ok then. I was thinking you couldn’t get that much out of a hand-drawn animation in 4K. But at least there’s HDR.
And the atmos sound.
@@Mymoonization Oh, of course!
That isn't what the HDR release looks like. You can't show HDR on an SDR screen. These videos are a waste of time.
Video is not a waste of time because when on a SDR screen there is a clear Night and Day difference if you can't see that then your blind
Unless this video is hdr
Não são perda de tempo, pois dá uma noção boa da diferença, paspalho.
I had to check the information several times to makes sure this was "The Lion King" and not "Planet Earth". 😜
The colors look so oversaturated... I can't say I like it.
Savana's African is too saturated, man.
3 YEARS LATE SQUAD WHERE YOU AT?!?!?!?!?!?!?
More sharpness no but HDR is the winner + DOLBY ATMOS remix
Its not HDR
How can HDR real and fake either add life or remove it

I mean it clearly looks better, just not a huge improvement.
@@zenyousapprentice3732 exactly
Yeah. I would expect that though. The Blu-ray looks fantastic, practically flawless. But if this 4k improves on it in any way, it's a buy for me .
HDR makes the movie much darker, I dont like that.
Don’t worry, sometimes the movie looks brighter too.

Agree...... iv a panasonic ub900 which does a brill job upscaling. I'm sticking with standard blu ray myself for the mean time.
@@RoyMurphy1 so not worth it at the moment bro, i have a Sony x800 and it's being put on the back burner for a while in favour of my Oppo...
@@bryanp4827 yea and here in Europe the new releases 4ks are around 30 euros.....crazy

Only movies that benefit from hdr and dv are live action movies not cartoons it's a waste of money
Ron Abalos wrong
4 years have past since this comment and its still the most stupid and uneducated comment on HDR ive ever seen.
