You exaggerate the “ordering around”. He was fast but inconsistent. And he can’t mount a recovery drive after qualifying out of place or a penalty. Every other champion or champion to be can recover from last to a podium or even a win 🥇

@@greenglass8779 when bottas is on song he has shown he can pretty easily beat lewis but that is very rare . I know for you as a lewis fan it is hard to digest the fact he can't win with a car which is not faster than the others and without bottas lewis would have definitely lost 17 and 18 titles
You can just see his smile going away slowly every year that goes by...super excited that he will actually get treated like a person again.
Even now, he's a in a back-marker car but appears to be 10x as happy.

I mean it's not the deep. Of course as soon as they heard rumors they tasked their editing team with throwing something together for any likely scenario. If he had gone somewhere else this would have been shelved or simply deleted. You should always have contingency plans so you're not rushing last minute to put something out there.

Look at those who have actually taken the championship, they didn't defer to anyone when joining a new team: Senna, Schumacher, Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel...even Rosberg finally learned this... you look out for yourself. Delighted for him. Undoubtedly he’d rather stay at Merc but I’m glad he’s still here and will lead his new team.
He has a chance to move to Mclaren in 2 years' time. He isn't out of F1 just yet.
I honestly think part of him wanted to leave, like yeah he’ll most likely be in a slower car but there’s so much pressure off him. I hope to see him smiling more next season

Bottas is a legend from other interactions, a pilot that even Valtteri does not find easy, who would let his colleague be the starter and you "co-" pilot.

He was an integral part of Mercedes dominance since 2017, a driver like him certainly deserves more respect and a better team environment......
He was a fairly decent 2nd driver. He's not consistent enough for being the top dog in a team with Hamilton. His race pace is too slow in general.
Still, Hamilton with Rosberg was superb.

@@greenglass8779 Not really. Perez did nothing the last race, except performed poorly in qualifying, whereas Bottas tried to slow down Verstappen.
In Hungary Bottas took both RBs and Norris out single handedly in the first corner, virtually gifting Hamilton a free race win that was denied by the lousy strategy by Mercedes.
So many amazing memories, and we're sure there are many more to come before the end of the season, too! 💙

His best moment was Sunday at the Dutch GP when with Max catching him
he ran wide at the Apex and Max was gone, and Hamilton was left wondering.

Alfa has used all of their funds in developing the next years car with the upcoming regulation changes, and they had the most experienced driver in F1 history to help them, so he might very well still fight for podiums lol
You saw what happened last year at portimao and this year and also he does not have the pace they asked he yesterday can he lap in the 1:15s and he said no don’t use valteri it’s James as a excuse

the finish man was the best 2nd driver in F1 history. Mercedes and LH should thank him deeply for everything he did for the team and especially for Lewis during the last 5 years when the team win the two kind of title 5 times consecutively.

The best 2nd driver was Ronnie Peterson in 1978 for lotus
He absolutely beat Lewis by quite a margin in some races. He just wasn't as consistent. And was against one of the greatest. His achievements are overlooked by some. He still has chance though not like he's retiring.

I think when Russ gets into Merc, Hamilton will be the one to bowing down... If Russ managed to deny P2 quali from Hamilton with a Williams (yeah yeah we get it, wet conditions), imagine what he can do with a similar car.

I'm happy for Valtteri. The obvious difference between how the teams reacted and treated Valtteri and Lewis the last few years was pure disrespectful to Valtteri.
As an underdog fan this guy is my favorite driver. Glad he still has quali records to remind Mercedes of their years of mistakes now.
