I like that bridge too, Something wonderful about seeing water. Vionic is a great brand, I picked up slippers when I was at the St Louis bins and wow! Slippers are almost always flimsy but these feel amazing. We have a red line too, but the rotation is half the store at a time. I have never only found a few items but I stay 7 1/2 hours for all rotations I rarely find much i the first couple of hours. Not enough for that long a drive. You should try that sometime, staying for a whole day for all rotations, IF they do regular rotations, But yeah, it's hit or miss. I went yard saling yesterday and hit a bunch of community yard sales and drove 50 miles and it was not great. If I had to count on regular GW stores, I'd pretty much have to go out of business.
We went to the bins there last Friday and between three of us, we came home with 145 lbs!! We loved the new bins! After 4 hours, we were exhausted so we never made it to the retail side! :)
After watching your first haul from that location I had to go and beat you there that day. When you showed the Boden top I knew it. 😊 There were a lot of resellers at the Bins at opening so it was likely picked through by the time you got there. I was actual hoping to see you and meet you!
As a fellow local, I have been making the same observations lately. Our GW stores were already not the greatest places to thrift, but increasing the prices and quietly discontinuing the rewards program make it not worth digging through the racks. As you mentioned, both Louisiana & Alabama GW stores seem to have a better selection and prices.
@@DoubleTsTreasures That truly is unfortunate. Good management could really turn these stores around. I feel bad for the cashiers and other local employees who don’t make these bad decisions, but likely receive all the customer complaints about them.
I live in Ohio and our Goodwills are so overpriced. I haven’t even been donating to them. I’ve been taking my stuff to the big yellow clothing drop offs. At least it’s getting donated to people that need it. Our Goodwill is right next to Walmart. For $2 more I walked to Walmart and got a brand new shirt. All of that stuff is donated and they are charging a fortune for it.
I just had to look up why “Velcro” is such a dirty word. lol Who knew? That long long bridge & water for miles & miles was just amazing to me! (You don’t see stuff like that up here in Indiana 😝) And goodness, but that’s the absolute largest Goodwill you keep going to. Wow. 😮 It’s too bad about those changes you mentioned, but at least now you know what’s up. And no, you definitely don’t look like you “used” to qualify for that 55 & up discount!
All the goodwils have caught on to the resalers, they now put stuff online and raising prices. Unfortunately that means those of us that aren't resalers loose too.
I think most of the price hikes are largely due to inflation. Their building rent, utilities everything is going up. To include wages and the businesses aren’t going to lose money they will always pass it on to the consumer.
I was wondering what “lake” you and Tim went canoeing on ? Is that the same body of water where the bridge was that you drove over to go to the Goodwill today ?
Sad to see it but Goodwill is getting so greedy these days for stuff they get free. They keep getting richer from ppl who donate free stuff….. gougers at the finest. I will never donated to goodwill I only donated to free stores. I can remember when you could buy a cart full for $10 days gone bye for sure. Have a great weekend. 💜
It really upsets me to see these ridiculous prices. Low income families can’t even afford to shop Goodwill.
That bridge would be my worst nightmare! Bridges freak me out!
Oh no! It’s super long

Me too!!! I should stay longer for sure.
Oh yeahhhhh they know about the resellers. We had a bunch of regulars that would come from everywhere.
Sometimes you hit the jackpot and other times it a flop. Ive never been to a bin sale store before. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
You bet
Happy Anniversary ❤ love you guys! I thought the sweat outfit was cute.
Way to keep it real! I hope your next trip is better!

Absolutely, we got a new CEO a few months ago and it has definitely not been for the better unfortunately.

95% of the time this is my reality. It’s getting tough. My goodwills take a lot of their stuff to corporate to sell. 😫😫😫
