In some fantastic, phantasmagoric way, this is stranger than anything I ever heard in the 70s. The vibe is not at all derivative; rather it is a reinvention of that which is mind-bending, psychedelia reimagined with sonic chicken wire and duct tape--but not an ounce of care for convention or stylistic pandering. Pretty cool.
Yeah totally. And Kevin Sheilds, they could've put him to much better use. I mean obviously he's not known as a shredder, but they could've got him doing something more sonic. Having said that, J's sound isn't that great on this either.
Agree with Daniel Canada, I am a huge Mascis/Dino Jr./Neil Young fan. Unfortunately this version does not do it for me. Such is youtube which has a lot of pluses and minuses. This one is a minus. On the plus side, there is lots of great J Mascis and Dino Jr stuff available on youtube though.
there´s something funny about Kevin Shields playing on a Strat
Kevin looks a bit awkward with the strat lol
@BeTheDeathOfMe I mean, he plays acoustic during an MBV set. Cigarette In Your Bed.
thanks for posting
Must have looked great on paper. Ah well our Gods have feet of clay after all😉

Geez, the recording is terrible but still this is what I’d imagine my heaven on earth to sound like. Well, maybe throw in Johnny Marr too!
Lou's tone is beastly
I bet Kevin wished he had taken whatever Kurt was on. He couldn't get offstage fast enough. haha
Vile has some nerve to leave off early like and leave the legends to trudge on by themselves like a proper little spoiled indie diva 🤨
Funny and interesting observation. Proof that there is a pretentious little poser in every one of us, even the cool lads.
Maybe they could throw in Doug Martsch just in case there wasn't enough guitar.
Love Dinosaur Jr, Love MBV, Love Neil Young, Love this song, but for all that, this version bored the shit out of me.

Screaming Females does a good cover of this too
Great jam session but the audio is all cracked up.
🌾✨
Ach, recording is pants.
first
Too much guitar
Have you ever heard the original?
The more guitar, the better
@@italo4938 i bet live it sounded better but this is just mud
