Cubert arrived in February of twenty-twenty,
Excitement and joy flowed aplenty.
Our dreams were soon to come true!
But if only past Chiko and Moritz knew...
A pandemic was about to hit!
We were stubborn-there's no way we'll quit.
"Onward!" we roared, there's no turning back now;
Even in lockdowns, dreams are allowed.
Now here we are, bittersweet but ready,
To embark on this adventure already.
But first! Thank you for being there
Through thick and thin, and Moritz's wild hair.
Whether you thought climbing, tents, or beer,
We hope you'll join us here.

Our truck is a 2009 GMC Savana G3500 cut-away with a 12 ft box and our dream is to convert it into a camper van for a year-long, North American rock climbing tour. Hence the name, Road to Pitches. Our departure date is set for May 2021.

@@RoadtoPitches I'm at an almost standstill as work has been crazy during covid. Only thing I added lately is an new 4g router from China that makes my home automation run a lot smoother and lets the family happily stream movies when on the road. I just wish there was time to actually hit the road 😁

Can anyone answer.. why plastic between paneling and insulation ?
It's called a vapour barrier. It prevents moisture from the air in the box to condense on the outer walls and cause issues with mold. You stop the warm moist air at the inside of the box, so it doesn't penetrate the insulation.
The thing is with showing the build in that format, we don't see the end result. What does it look like finished?
Hey yeah it kinda stops where you wanna see the end result😅, but you can in our van tour! There we go over the whole (finished) build.

Hey we're sorry that we couldn't show the finished van just yet! We were in the middle of moving out of our apartment when we finally got everything set up and dialed in.
We are working hard to release our van tour (hopefully this weekend, fingers crossed) where we will show everything in detail. So please bear with us just a bit longer!
