@@AbigBuffalo To me, that's what's important. It's an indictment to the aloof and those who don't pay attention. Also, when I'm writing something, what's important is what I say is important. You should never tell people to stop doing something, especially online, it typically has the opposite reaction of them stopping whatever it is you claim to want them to stop. It's shocking, well not actually shocking, but telling that the information contained in this video is news to people. It's all right there in front of everyone every day and has been for several decades. One of the reasons the information in this video continues to happen is the same reason that people are shocked when they hear about it.... because no one (or most people) is paying attention. Then, they act or are shocked when the obvious is "revealed" on a news segment.
@@yowsers6475 what’s ironic is you’re telling me I should do something, while telling me I shouldn’t tell people what to do. What if you read it “that’s not what’s important (to me)” instead, which is where I’m speaking from. Am I allowed my opinion or “should” it just “be obvious” that my priority of importance be the same as yours? If we can move past “should-ing” on each other, I think we could spend more time focusing on the issue. So if I’m hearing you correctly, spreading this (obvious to you) information on the internet is the reason that people are shocked when they hear about it? I’m feeling a lot of confusion about your statement. Here’s something that might not be obvious to you - people learn things at different points in time. You’re describing their experience as “shocked” which is partially true and partially untrue because you can’t speak in behalf of everyone’s emotional response with this content. Some might feel grateful for learning. Some might feel just like you do, whatever it is you’re feeling I’m not sure. I can respect that you find your opinions important. But my boundary is having the right to do the same without the person I’m talking to playing victim to me sharing my opinion then trying to manipulate me into some internet code of ethics they whipped up in defense of their emotions. Hope you find room in your life to make space for other people having their own experience, which to me is the pattern of this whole thread. Bye bye!

On the gravest note, under AMLO’s investigation into the disapperance of the 43 students, the ex-federal attorney general & a current general amongst others were arrested. Also, a top official involved in the 43 students’ disapperance is in Israel and the Mexican gov’t has asked for his arrest & extradition. AMLO has held a daily press conference daily since being in office. I watch everyday and have witnessed Mexico’s transformation to a better country. I suggest Amy & Juan Gonzalez attend one of these press conferences and ask him questions directly rather than asking a mouthpiece for Mexico’s ruling class.

I do not think anyone was more surprised than.... no one was surprised: Interesting that you mention that weapons lawfully purchased in AZ made their way to Mexico. That's unfortunate but if Mexico played a bigger role in securing the USA/MEX border a lot of these transnational crimes would be eliminated such as the trafficking of arms into Mexico. Securing the border would drastically slow the flow of drugs into the USA, would make it extremely difficult to traffic arms into Mexico, and if Mexico was serious about combating Cartels they would move to designate their most ruthless Cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. Exactly what i mean
The drug money doesn’t stop just with Mexican military and political persons, it spreads through el norte’ too.
Fast and furious operation ring a bell.
Americans would rather sweep that under the rug than criticize Obama
That's exactly what it is about, the information is common knowledge, even one of those involved is in jail already but we haven't being able to get the president that worked with Obama to arm cartels because he owns too many judges and it's being protected by United States
MW II
In all seriousness, I hope this doesn’t cause a new war with the Zapatistas
Nah, it wont. The mexican government could argue that this reporter put the lives of military at risk by reporting in this massive leak, demand his extradition and the usa should comply. Thats exactly what your government is doing to Julian Assange, isnt it?
It’s not
Mr. Chaparro is doing a dishonest job of not mentioning the dates of the data leaked, as most of the "controversial" information belongs to past administrations. Also, Amy didn't bother to ask.
Whatever administration, Mexico and Latin America r so corrupted.

The war on drugs is essential to successful human trafficking and I think it is disgusting that Israel with it's disregard to human rights should be meddling in Mexico so freely. Really what this is about sexism and misogyny. Women are largely left to deal as individuals with gangs and parties of men who play their comic book games with religion ensuring they maintain the upper hand in political affairs
They use it to protect journalist.
Al-Jazeera's "The Lobby" really puts it all in true perspective. Shocking that $3.1B of American taxpayer dollars go to Israel each year. They're not anyone's friend but their own and they definitely don't need aid. The Palestinians do and, under Trump, UNCHR funding to them was considerably reduced. All the world's madness comes from one source, greed. People and planet don't matter. Money does. Sad, sad times. God help us.
They were meddling in Guatemala as well, armed military with Israeli guns and vehicles

If we were currently in the situation you describe in your pamphlet, our president would not be supported by more 60 percent of the citizens. It is vile to try to blame AMLO of the shameful actions of the previous Mexican presidents. By the way, which administrations orchestrated the Operation Fast and Furious? Evolve, leave behind your interference mania disguised as good intentions.
Totally agree with you comrade.
Who sending weapons to Mexico?USA.
Hopefully, the American public will stop using drugs.
Of course the military did horrible things in Mexico; they were trained by the U.S. in the former School Of The Americas where almost all the members of the military juntas and dictatorships in Latin America were also trained.
*What's shocking is that this is news to anyone; how are there still people that aren't aware of this?*
Feigned ignorance is a bliss. Pretend that there's nothing wrong and hope that the problem goes away.
That’s not what is important, it’s the evidence for the degree of which it’s happening that makes this report stand out. Stop downplaying the scope of this it depletes traction
@@AbigBuffalo
To me, that's what's important.
I’m stating what is and isn’t important to me and. how could I speak for you? It’s as if you’d have to read my statement “that’s not what’s important (to you)”. Does that make sense?
Bye bye!
This is why I stopped listening to Democracy Now. Truly uninformed and false.
Wow, who's been running Arizona for the past 40 years...Republicans. VOTE THEM OUT for this and a thousand other reasons. 💙🇺🇸💙🌊🌊🌊🌊
Democrats are as corrupt.
Pal Reps are the ones trying to cease out the cartels more than the left-winged. Dems makes soft laws, loose borders, etc...while rep politicians like Trump wanted to make a wall to stop cartels activities and even label them as terrorists but that was "racist" for left-winged.
Very disappointed in Amy & Juan

Protect Luis at all cost! Bravest journalist out of Mexico
Nowhere did they say when all this was happening. The military selling weapons and the surveillance. Or did I miss it?
Ex-pres Calderon era, now AMLO is cleaning all this mess up but Dem Now refuses to mention this time and time again!!!
AMLO is cleaning?!? CLEANING what all the money that enters mexico
Americans 2 A rights have nothing to do with what’s going on in Mexico
If El Salvador can change I believe any Latin countries can change they need to be tough on cartels
Mexico is no hope
What a shock !!!
Thanks for having me Amy, Juan.
But Mexico is not serious
I really like Louis Chaparro✊🏾

Democracy now been pushing “western” imperialism narratives forever. I’m not surprised.

The Cartel own the government
Are you talking about cartels INSIDE the USA?
Or what do you think drugs comes to urban centers from the border? Teleportation?
And US officials are not aware of the biggest movement of drugs in the world (the trafficking inside US soil)?

Sr. Chaparro got a couple of things wrong. True, AMLO downplayed the importance of the leaks, but he never said that the most important leak were about his health info. It was the Mexican media who did that. He just answered their questions on the subject
How can they sue gun manufacturers when they themselves are arming cartels?! 😂 that’s some big time fuckery
It's a ridiculous lawsuit, and Mexico won't get one dime, especially in light of these new revelations. The Internet can do goo.
The data of the Goverment arming cartels are from 4-6 years ago, even one of the top big fish from home security who was ex President Calderon right hand it’s detained with prove of siding with the cartels (Garcia Luna). Mexicos new President AMLO now is cleaning the house!!

Hmmm, very sus, is this how we address border & cartel violence by throwing terroristic weapons at them?! I'm aware of the US's concern of not wanting foreign terrorists using Mexican border as an entrance to the US, this kinda reveals how deep this goes & its difficult not to see the red flags of why.

No it isn’t…it’s irresponsible…this man and Democracy Now aren’t being responsible with this information. Either just pure laziness from their part or they are dumb..the information that was leaked speaks mostly of the 2 previous presidents and not the current one and that’s when it comes to cartels n state officials working together. This current administration has rooted out corruption at the federal level and in most states.. the vast amount of crimes committed come from 5 states out of 32.
