I have good old Tampa well water. Plants love it.
Hey, that was informative and entertaining, once again. Water,, water, glistening and glowing, here in central Florida, that day, it was also hideously hot for us (humans). Thanks for the video!
I love all your videos, and I'm looking forward to your new videos. ❤
thank you so much, with so many critics out there it is nice to here some positive feed back. I am hopeful to start creating again soon 🙂
It will be nice to let the Vanda man speak and get him a better mic
@ 7:29 it becane loud but still mono
Omg orchid bros lol
Whats the ppm after adding fertility?
that depends on the concentration of your fert.
Oh my bad…What I’m asking is the 1 gallon of RO water ppm of vanda man + 1 teaspoon of dyna-grow?
Just checked with the Dyna-Gro 7-9-5. My RO water started with a pH of 4.9, 0 ppm, and an EC of 0.0. After a teaspoon of Dyna-Gro, the pH was 3.8, ppm was 820, and the EC was 1.21.
So if you’re planning to use this product with RO, you’ll probably need to add a buffer.
And those plants in wild don’t look all that great all the year either. Maybe they are pretty in bloom when blooming but in the raining season, or a tree top falls out, etc. it won’t look so good.
Let Tony or whatever other pros - speak more and not so much BS talking over them. I mean it’s their professional, years of growing we are looking for. Sorry, could do without so much rants and wild language even though it’s sweet he is providing this video service to bring the pros on orchids to us. But I believe you will get and keep more viewers without it.
And you said, not Tony, there aren’t any or only a few pros out there. I believe you will find many production houses who are pros in their main orchid type. Take a trip to Hawaii to see Mary at Akatsuka Orchids. I haven’t been there but one of the nicest folks and all the orchids I get from them, mostly catts, are gorgeous , clean plants and have the most beautiful white, large and healthy roots. In fact, they advise you don’t repot them for some time after they have been in your care and environment. I got about 3 different orders in the range of around 10-12 new plants and all were great as was their shipping and packaging. No flimsy boxes or left over boxes. They are specialty designed, sized, and printed. So there is one to start with.
But there are other production houses. And If you want to go overseas there are a couple of over the top ones with fantastic technology from cameras to determine the plants readiness for sale, over head systems where you can walk over the plants to check them, automated washing of flats, pots, etc, conveyer belts, automated potting, etc. Lots of technology I haven’t heard of or seen in the states. See the links below. Might be a great trip!
Most orchids out of my 50+ I have gotten that need repotting almost as soon as they arrive or as soon as appropriate. Most arrive with bad moss on top and few live roots under. Some still have their original moss plugs that went over a year or two back with bark or some mix over them which has also gone bad. It’s one of the biggest issues I see in the plants which are sold online. The next issue is shipping plants with diseases - mostly leaf and root rot issues with the occasional pest. Companies like Akatsuka, sell those as bargain bin advising they have been treated but the leaves remain spotted or damaged in some manner and will have to grow out of the issues.
I hope R&R Orchids will be such a company too and one I can brag on in the same manner as Akatsuka and Mary.
This first video - the potting is almost entirely automated.

thanks for the biblical response
how about I just give up on everything??
Tony, thank you so much for all your very good information. I don’t Appreciate the fowl language of that tall show off man trying to get attention for himself. We’re all good educated American people who don’t need to hear such awful filth from such lowlife like him.
your audio is mono only 1 speaker is working
yeah i suck
Now let me ask a question, where are you getting these plants (4000) so does that mean you aren’t growing those beautiful plants. Just confused…
be confused .... ask yourself , is it possible to run a business and be a grower at the same time? yeah its not rocket science... a pro grower with a business plan.
