well your right i cant but when i havent experienced it but its a job what my grandad had done and ever since i can remeber i have always wanted to be a fire fighter. bloody good men you are :)
I once followed a fire engine from blackley fire station to see where it was going, after about a minute the thing was gone lol it was way too fast for me to keep up with! These trucks are rapid
I've spoken to a Watch Manager at Mosside fire station, he said get all the education, and some job experience done before you sign up, just incase things take a turn for the worst!
When he asks "Who's driving that?" Does he reply... Mark Forbesy???? And great to see a local vid, recognise all of STretford and Urmston there. Keep up the great work!
don't comment on the gruesome stuff until you've experienced it buddy because it is never how you imagine it will be... and the second pump will always catch the first because the first gets held up as it clears the traffic! :0)
i honestly dont mind all the grusome stuff and the other appliance caught up to you there miless ahead great driving :D also outside the local youth club in chadderton the other week there was a crew outside there let me have a go of the i think its th dry riser ( black) and B.A n new galet hemetls :D
It's always easier following another appliance. It makes it look as though the leading appliance could go faster but that simply isn't the case. The leading appliance is clearing the traffic for you and it is he who gets hindered by slower moving obstacles not the following driver.
Lol, u not on duty tonight then ? and have u been a driver for long? i really want to know how hard the drivers course is beacuse i really want to be a driver once i join the service
They still have two tones or atleast in Bucks they do. My dad is a crew Commander and try still use them and also you can still tell the difference between Police, Fire and Ambulance
PUT THE BULL HORNS BACK ON THE APPARATUS THEY MOVE TRAFFIC OF THE WAY. I'M FROM NY AND WE HAVE STUTTERTONE HORN AND SOON WE WILL HAVE THE MARTIN HORNS.
No, I'm in community fire safety at the moment... and first you need to become a qualified firefighter... on average it takes 5 to 7 years before you get to drive!
i see that one thing i really wnt to do before i die clear traffic with a fire engine :D who is the guy who start going wehehehe in this video hes funny him

Thats sounds like an old version of the premier hazard.
Great vid!!....more please ;-)
I'm amazed at how quick these get up to speed; I haven't got a clue how much they weigh but even so...
Between 7-15tons normally.
Volvo FL6-14, so max total weight is 14 tonne but they weigh around 12.5 fully laden.
johnmcquay82 these machines did pick up quickly, saw them flying all over the place and boy, do they fly.
Sweet so u go the new volvos now at stretford havent you? aww you dont understand how lucky you are :D

They all sound the same now, when I was growing up you could tell the difference between police, ambulance and fire.
