We've had Starlink in our RV for 19 months. No real issues with it, though our data cable died last night. Thankfully, I'd bought a back up some time ago. I hope you enjoy it. I work web dev remote and my wife is a teacher so we need reliable internet and Starlink has come through.
Would there be enough space between the front seats to build your own container/center console? Perhaps not the best solution as you and the dogs would have to clamber over it all the time. Those camp site all look super cool; appreciate being able to see the area vicariously!
Ya know, I didn’t check there but I did actually build a box to fit there during the build and I just hated having something sit there. It felt very unnatural to me. But I think I have something figured out now!
Nice! Yeah originally I was going to have multiple cell hotspots to hopefully cover all areas but after seeing all the positive reviews on Starlink RV I ended up going that route. It's pricey but so far has been working great for us!
Yellowbelly Lake! I was camping just north of you last week. Keeping my distance from people as my two dogs bark at everything. And one is reactive and will quickly pick a fight. Sigh. So happy for you that you got starlink so you can stay and work in that area. My long time favorite place on earth ❤
I love the peaceful element you have in your videos! All of the beautiful scenery and the lovely walks with your dogs!!! I feel like just "living" can be hard sometimes..but please know your videos are so inspiring to those of us who dream of a life on the road!
Hey Erica, didn’t get through other comments so, maybe you’ve already found a solution to store your Starlink. But quickly…i follow this other channel called « VANCITY VANLIFE », dude’s name is Chrome. He stores his Starlink easily in a drawer and, he lives in a smaller van, an E250. Maybe that’ll help. Safe travels.
I can relate, trying to find service is not easy sometimes, your van is better organized than my truck/semi 😂 love the video, have a blessed week, be safe
I really enjoyed this video. It was splendid with great music. You have done a great job fitting starlink into your van and I hope it allows you the freedom you need to travel. Take care now. ps. I don't think any of your viewers are thinking about how long you have worn your jumper for. Take it easy on yourself.
Hahaha it’s funny…somethings I think people won’t notice and it ends up being the first comment I read, other things I think they will notice and no one says a word. 😂
Great idea to get starling, it will save you from the anxiety/anger, keep you out in nature and keep you employed!!! You also make great videos we want to see!! Be joyful❤️
I work from home as well, it’s an amazing opportunity to see new places while maintaining a full time job. Starlink works well for me, except it does demand a bit of battery. I added solar and it has been great so far. I have a ton of Zoom meetings too, and it is unacceptable to me to drop signal in the middle of a meeting or presentation. My home base, Vancouver Island, has its challenges because of all the trees! I’ve been adding starlink reception info to iOverlander as I go in hopes it helps other working nomads. Happy trails!
Yep! My batteries are taking a major hit. If it’s sunny, I’m okay. But I’m finding that I need to drive and run my dcdc charger more. No room for extra solar on this roof 🥺
Ha! Your 3-drawer storage units are as dusty as mine. 😉 I still have my Starlink in its own box, but I put the cables and router in one of my drawers. Like you, I just cannot figure out a safer storage solution, but I'll keep thinking on it. Beautiful sites for you this week. I'm going to try Penny's method of shooing insects. I think her "Get away or I'll bite you!" approach seems more menacing then my pathetic and ineffective hand waving technique. Not sure what I'd do if I ever caught one that way, though. Gag probably.
yay! Hoepfully your internet probs are over! I saw videos of folks getting their starlinks turned into permanently flat mounted (on the roof or with an adapter to pop onto the hood) and it looked like a great solution but so pricey/ scary/ risky (they saw the whole thing apart etc) that I kinda noped outta there myself and I don't even own a starlink hahahahah! Why did they have to make them so bulky with that stand!?!?
From the 2D perspective I have, I might hang the stand and cable from the inside of one of the back doors. Then, put some of those cheap interlocking foam flooring pieces on the board above the dog food for the dish and router, and attach a bungee across to hold in place. Starlink needs to redesign the stand to come apart and make the pole on the dish with a plug and play connection.
So…. I did eventually figure out that the app has a “Stow mode” feature which makes the satellite tilt down much but it still won’t detach from the pole. So inconvenient!
@@girland2vandogs Oh- glad you found stow mode. I thought the pole folded down a bit more, but I agree, it's still inconvenient. You'll find the right place eventually. Thankfully, you now have work stability!
You pick a good spot to camp, nice view and peaceful ambience to calm you. I may be wrong, but did you leave your tent behind in the beginning of the show? Remember that Starlink is tax deductible when you do your taxes next year. When i like a sweatshirt, i may wear it many times, but it is the t-shirt underneath that i also wear that i change, as that is the one that gets sweaty.
So it fits where those two sets of drawers are, but you need the contents of those drawers… Also there is space above your paddle board… Can you maybe build some sort of drawer there that fits the contents of the two sets of drawers? So that you still have easy access and space for the Starlink. And also then there may be space for a drawer underneath the Starlink? Like someone else commented, we see a 2D version of course. I am happy you made that decision though. Time is the most valuable asset! I lived tiny in the middle of nowhere for 3 years and always was solving internet issues. And space issues. And from that experience I know that you will always be finding new creative homes for things and always find things you do not really need in the end. You totally got this. 🙂 Being able to work in nature is the absolute best ❤️
No space above the paddle board but there is space in front. The problem was that it’s too tall for a container to fit there but I can move the satellite just right to make it fit. BUT…I did learn that there is a stow mode feature in the app that makes it lay down a little more. Not much, but enough that it should fit in a container in that space. The problem now will be to find the right container lol
Letting of stuff can be cathartic 🙂 you use that tape measure like a veteran carpenter when you bent it to read it..let's see, internet or stuff Hmm? From seat is good spot
I was only leaving for a few hours. Making sure I marked my spot so I had somewhere to sleep that night. Similar to a camper unhitching, just…much less expensive 😂
Why are you storing it? When you are camped it's deployed, when you are driving it could just rest on your bed or floor, what's the point of having a dedicated storage space??

Ohhh a back up cable is a good idea!
Great video, I’m happy Starlink is working out for you. Th scenery is beautiful and the music is great ❤
Thanks so much! Feeling pretty good about starlink so far. Should have done it sooner!
Congratulations on getting StarLink. Great video.
Thanks! Should have done it a long time ago haha

Im glad you got Starlink, hopefully you can stay in your happy spot and enjoy your time.
Thank you! That’s what I’m hoping, too!

Love the music you choose. Labs are just the best
Thanks for another great video
I just found your channel (Thank You, RUclips algorithm 😊). Definitely subscribing to follow along with you and your adorable doggies.
Awesome! Glad to have you along for the ride!
I like your slow pans. Like your slow edits and great sound.

It’s been almost 3 months now and I’m still enjoying it sooooooo much! Very very thankful it worked out 🥹

There is a stowaway mode to make it collapse a little more.
I’m embarrassed to admit how long it took me to find this feature 😂 but still pretty big! Have you found a box/container that it fits in?

Why did you leave the tent?

Where you have put it with no protection could well crack the face of the dish hope it doesn’t
Why are you storing it? When you are camped it's deployed, when you are driving it could just rest on your bed or floor, what's the point of having a dedicated storage space??
Things roll off the bed very easily when driving. I paid way too much money for that to happen haha
Could you make hook/strap/net on the ceiling for when you drive?
@@mescovery8210 my ceiling is an area of weakness in my build… haha
I would consider splitting the stand up from the delicate main part for storage. Then you might not need to find a box as big.
Or create some kind of backpack for the back of your passenger seat to store it in while driving
