    This is a great little trailer. I honestly welled up a little when I saw it on the screen. My late husband and I had many great adventures in the same model. Never had a problem and it towed like a dream. Good Luck!

  • @stephenrussell6074
    @stephenrussell6074 11 месяцев назад +11

    Great choice, nothing hard about towing as long as you remember the trailer will cut across corners a kick out steering the opposite way before turning will reduce this. Then find a big car park and practice reversing, the great thing is longer trailers are easier to reverse as they react slower than short trailers. Make sure your Tow vehicle can handle around 1/3 more than your rig weight. So 6500lb you want tow capacity of 9500lb plus ideally and 4x4. Always load as much heavy stuff as you can in the tow vehicle as the more the total load is biased towards the towing vehicle the more stable the rig. Some vehicles have software to specifically help with towing check if it has or can be upgraded. They also benefit from alternator upgrades and cooling fan upgrades. Try to find one with all these fitted.

      The most basic automatic aids deal with safety issues such as snaking prevention but some can include reversing guides via the rear camera and sensors.

    It's great to see you again. I understand that choosing your new rig must have been a difficult and challenging decision. However, you have made the best choice for you and your two furry companions. When traveling with a dog, specific accommodations need to be considered. I'm looking forward to seeing where this journey takes us.

    Yay! We had a 2007 Springdale. It was 18ft, no slides but a great little trailer for my husband, myself and our son. We had the same configuration except it was much shorter and our bed was only full. We just finally had to sell it last fall. We took it on many, many trips for 16 years.❤️

    Just came across your channel. Congratulations on your new trailer. I also have taken the tow route with a custom built cargo trailer conversion. You will learn everything you need to learn...just be careful getting started to minimize those Newby mistakes. My only advice is with 2 big dogs...add a central vacume system if the trailer does not have it. It's not hard to do and will help with all the dog hair. I can't recommend any certain model because I haven't put mine in yet....but it a definite have to have for me. Good Luck.....Enjoy.👍

    Congrats! I am so happy for you! I lived in my T@B 320 for six months, and decided to build out a van after coming back to the midwest from Vancouver Island. I have now lived in my van full-time for seven months and recently decided to sell it ...and go back to my T@B! (thank goodness I was too lazy to sell it last Spring). Towing is "extra", but the pride you felt in building will be the same when you master towing 🙂 Both have their pros and cons, but a shower, A/C, and having a quality separate tow vehicle are a HUGE plus. Looking forward to seeing your rig updates!

    Congrats on your new rig and choosing the best one for you and your dogs.... Also how fun you made it to a Buc-ees. I live in Texas and they are fun to stop at. Yes a bit overwhelming ...Something that I discovered at the one I have stopped at is this particular one does not have a place to sit down and eat the prepare food. Not sure if all of them are this way. Anyway so happy for you and your dogs. Thanks for the update.

    Although I missed the moment you posted this, I was very aware it's Sunday, but needed to drive a few hours to my Boondockers Welcome site for tonight and tomorrow night. Central Florida. Although I have A/C, I hate using it when not on shore power, so I'll just be like the old Erica and complain about the heat. And humidity. This is unnatural in February for this Wisconsin Boy and I'd rather be in Tennessee right now. Anyhoo... So you got a tow along, 'eh. I think my experience of others' thoughts on them is different than yours, but may be tainted by the covid blowout and how the RV industry both reveled and languished through it. I hear build quality took a devastating hit. But, we'll assume that, because your rig predates that debacle, and since there was a previous owner to address any other immediate post-build concerns, that you're in a real good place to have a wonderful two-year home. Or, you know, however it shakes out. Looking forward to the towing practice video. Nothing like a full length blooper reel! Haha. And how you make it your own, of course. And how Penny and Charlie take to their new home. Congratulations, Erica!

    Congratulations! Glad you are back and getting ready to travel again. Yes, you need more room for the pups and there lots of people that are full time RVers and doing just fine. Just get a diesel truck it will be strong enough to not only pull your trailer east of the Rockies but in the Rockies. Looking forward to more videos from you. Wait! does this mean you need to change your channel name from girland2vandogs to girland2RVdogs? 😁😁

    Awesome. I look this thru eyes of a family if 6 with two dogs and space is so important. Even if I was the only one traveling I’d have a small camper like yours. Also I just redid the dinette in our smaller camper into an office space and it turned out well. Jealous of those windows though! Good luck

    I've made the same choice. I have a Geo-pro and tow with a 4x4 Toyota Tundra. I put a higher cap on the truck and am building it out for off road adventures. You will not regret your choice. Having a "homebase" will make life much more comfortable for you and the pups. I will be very interested to see your solar and electrical mods. Best of luck!

    you did good! Looks awesome!!! (and I am just happy to see you getting back on the road again. My own selfish reasons hahahah) I hope you're not feeling judged, because this lady is NOT. All your reasons are completely understandable.
    Side note: I bought a van yesterday!!! Not doing full time van life and not doing a full build out, but I am doing part time. All of the issues you brought up are the ones I am concerned about as well (my one of two dogs is a little larger than Charlie so I hear you on the floor space to sleep on) I did not heed any warnings from you, but we will see. I am not full time, so I think I can buck up for the times I am out and about. I did think about you while buying so it's not like I wasn't warned lol! 😂 I have heard, your first van is always the one you learn on, so cheers to that lol!
