    Nice, simple, repeatable routine. What time is lights out every night? Curious about how long you have been consistently waking up early and what your thoughts are on sleep efficiency vs sleep duration?

    • @Sahil_Bloom
      @Sahil_Bloom  8 месяцев назад

      I am basically asleep by ~830 and awake by ~430 every day. If I fall asleep earlier, my body pretty naturally gets me up earlier. I normally sleep later on Sundays (assuming my toddler allows it), say until 6am or so.
      My son is asleep by 7ish and my wife and I are both early to bed types, so it works well for our lifestyle and schedule.
      Also means when I do work meeting dinners, I do them at 530 or so. Means I can get home and get to bed at a reasonable hour.
      When I was younger, I sacrificed sleep to wake up early, now I just build it into my schedule to make sure I get my 8.

      I think a lot of people just talk about it because it sounds sexy - I just do it because I feel most focused in the morning. I like going to bed early and waking up early because the mornings are peaceful. If it doesn't suit your energy flows, don't do it.

    I like the idea of "focusing" your carbs in and around the workout but one issue I run into is that when trying to bulk I sometimes miss a meal and end up having to fit in a large amount of carbs in near bedtime to hit my calorie goal (i.e. big bowl of pasta/meat/greens an hour or so before bed ~1,200 cals). Do you think it is better to just be in a deficit for the day or is it worth risking the carbs being converted to fat? Really enjoyed the video thanks!

    • @Sahil_Bloom
      @Sahil_Bloom  8 месяцев назад +1

      can't ever be in deficit if you want to bulk - you're going to gain fat while bulking, just part of it. Idea of a perfectly clean bulk is really impossible for most people (assuming not perfectly genetically gifted, which I'm not).

    I love the simplicity of your meals. I want to start a whole30 to wean off my trigger foods which are bread/pasta and cheese. I just have a very hard time with moderation on these foods. I do however want to include rice into the whole30 because i do not overeat on it and it will help me keep on track. I noticed that you do not use spices or other condiments for your meals. Is this intentional or just practical? I found this video very inspiring - just focusing on whole foods prepared in a simple manner. Please share more of these❤❤❤

      Yep mine stays at 39 year round. Sits outside in icy temps so it’s pretty bad in winter.

    Hmmm if u work 9-5, got a dog and kids…how can you still manage all this plus have a social life?

    • @Sahil_Bloom
      @Sahil_Bloom  7 месяцев назад

      No social life lol! To be honest, in my 30s, everything is about saying NO to more things so that I can say YES to the things that really matter to me (family, a few close friends, health, business).

    So you dont take in more carbs before the long run on the low intensity day?

    • @Sahil_Bloom
      @Sahil_Bloom  7 месяцев назад

      can you clarify the question a bit? I always consume carbs before my runs, just a matter of how much.

      I don't really "bulk and cut" I just listen to my body and what it needs based on training volumes at different periods

    Where did you get your infrared sauna from?

    • @Sahil_Bloom

      It's a real sauna, not infrared. Infrared doesn't get hot enough.
