In our series of videos for ALL the songs from "Endless dream" comes this summery video for "Endless reruns".
HENRY the director says; "The idea behind the video came from the title itself. Imagine being able to do endless reruns of your life. What moment would you choose? A spectacular moment or just an everyday situation where you feel totally comfortable and at peace with the world? Here Peter chose to endlessly re-live a late afternoon picnic in the Tanto park of Södermalm in Stockholm."
PETER says, "'Endless reruns' actually started out in my head on a beach in Mallorca, looking out over the ocean. Musically a simple, classic melodic PBJ-stroll through lush acoustic beds of guitars, woody basslines, poppy drums, tape-echos, Byrdsian harmonies, and a lonely harmonica. A twin to the old instrumental 'At the seaside' from 'Seaside Rock' fittingly enough! If anyone remembers that :)
Thematically to me, it's a centerpiece to the idea of 'Endless Dream' in that it kind of level-headed looks at the disappointments and expectations of life midlife.
Love and luck are hard-earned and evasive and doesn't come to everyone in a flash, if ever. Naivety and unflinching hope might be seen as an Achilles-heel to some, but STILL, it lingers on and doesn't leave too easily. People, countries, and ideas fucks you up, and nothing can be taken for granted. BUT in rare moments, life hits you hard in a positive, uplifting way. Those brief everyday seconds of happiness can come from the most mundane things, but you still want to catch them, treasure, and replay them in an endless loop. So it's about appreciating the beauty in the details, I guess. This makes you continue to dream about the impossible, unattainable goals that might just be better as dreams... still, it makes you get up in the morning, right?"
