Now you can recognize that very familiar voice of the pilot? Nothing like a little Spike before their was Spike. However I believe these were both around the same time of the actual development of both Omega Boost AND Cowboy Bebop around 1998. This was interesting to see, I watched the western intro many times as it's what I was growing up with back in Highschool at that time.
@Kuromori I forget who played Spike in Bebop and at eight thirty in the morning I'm too lazy to look it all up, but that so sounds like him. Hard to believe a year has blazed by since i made this comment.
@Azylath Bit of a late response, but, if you're talking about Omega Boost's pilot, that is (or at least is voiced by) Steve Blum... who is a professional, full-time voice actor.
Convenient enough, the artist who did the mecha design of this game also does the mecha design for all armored cores. And he's the designer and creator of Macross saga (robotech and beyond), Genesis of Aquarion, Basquash and Escaflowne. He did mecha design for Eureka 7, Ghost in the Shel (anime), Gundam Stardust Memory and others.
One of my favorite Imported titles. Especially so, because the majority of the game featured english text/speech. It was a shame it didn't get much hype when it finally did release overseas. A classich mech/shooter, that is still fun today!
Wikipedia confirms it. His name is Steven J Blum, but he also goes by the name David Lucas. He was in Big O, Cowboy Bebop and he's Wolverine in Wolverine and the X men.
The Best PS1 Game ever... I used to play with it all the time in the PSX emulator on my PC. Damm, I was like. if that Omega Robot is that huge, then what about the other bosses in the game (alien or not) are FREAKIN' GIGANTIC!!! and yeah somebody make a movie from this game please?!?!
So I was messing around going through some of my old things I had stored away and came across this game. I thought I had lost it a long time ago. Anyway I've been playing it for the last couple days, glad I found it.
1)The song is looped in a funny way, and nothing is used after the first chorus. 2) It was different again in the US, using Fly by Loudmouth (better known for being on the Varsity Blues soundtrack) for this part, and Otsegolation by Static-X for the menu screen and final boss fight.
Watched the American version and something felt off which turned out to be the music. This brings back not just the memories but the feelings of this game.
It sounds like him... I could have sworn that the guy who does the voice for Spike Spiegel also did the voice for the American Captain in Call Of Duty 1.
Does anyone know witch version of the game has this song in it 'while' being in english at the same time? I had this game a long time ago and I remember it was completely in english and it had this song instead of Fly or Dreamer (US and UK versions have those). I lost it though, so now I'm looking for an ISO of it, but the only version with Shade in it's BGM that I can find is the japanese one... Can anyone enlighten me on this? Does someone know where can I find the one I'm looking for?
can somebody tell me, how is the name of the Song ??? The Omega boost opening in English have diferent Opening song. I whant the japanese opening song!!
One thing I don't like about this game, is that the gun is way too weak compared to the mech's laser missiles, the missiles even got lock-on and homing effect. And it's depressing that the mech's huge laser attack in 4:05 isn't available, it rather has the auto ramming the enemies around, much like V-Max from Blue Comet Layzner. But anyway, it's one of the best "real robot" style game in PS1 along with Char's Counter Attack and AC games.
One of the most badass ps1 intros...
I'm here because i kept humming the song yesterday, and couldnt get it out of my head.
This intro was way ahead of its time... Badass
"Did you packed your socks?"
"Yeah,and a family christmas picture"
Epic man...epic...
so that's what he said..thx man! after 7 years..mystery solved. 😅
Shade by Feeder
This epic intro is still stuck in my mind until now, I'm seriously gonna get this if it has a remake
QUEREMOS RAMAKE! :v
aA aA aA aAaA aA aA aA aA ..... A VECES ES LINDO SOÑAR :'(
This game looks really good, even by today standards, seriously, go play the game it is that awesome.
Awesome music and opening,my Childhood memories and still one of my favorite game one PS one, this game need more love...
Only epic players can discuss about that
the song is Shade, a song written by FEEDER.
i thought it's really cool when i saw it for the first time as a kid.

@Kuromori Possibly not, but sure does sound like him.
@Azylath Bit of a late response, but, if you're talking about Omega Boost's pilot, that is (or at least is voiced by) Steve Blum... who is a professional, full-time voice actor.
Gotta love Omega Boost. This had to be one of THE most awesome intros I've seen in a game.
here in 2019?
No way, I STILL love watching game intros if they are good. This intro is totaly worth of being seen again and again.
This remains one of the greatest game intros of all time :D
I keep seeing it in 2017

OMG! Thanks for uploading this!!!!
the best shoter of ps1 for me, and her intro... that's amazing
Shade by Feeder.
I... I fuckin' grew up with this!! Oh I'm gonna cry now...
One of my favorite Imported titles. Especially so, because the majority of the game featured english text/speech. It was a shame it didn't get much hype when it finally did release overseas. A classich mech/shooter, that is still fun today!
Let's make a request to Polyphony Digital to make a sequel or remake of this beauty! It has so much potencial!
@SrPapitaxD
The song is 'Shade' from the english band Feeder. If i recall correctly, it's from tha album 'swim'

it really is like a live action anime! Why can't hollywood movies do it like this!
1)The song is looped in a funny way, and nothing is used after the first chorus.

Probably the best intro.
When I wake up in the morning, I bring my Alpha Core online. :D
Loved this game back in the day

"YESS!" ☀️
I love this intro :D
I do believe so, yes.
Feeder - Shade, took me about 4 years to figure it out, I used to think it was filter hehe, enjoy!
@Gantann Thanks Mate
i hope they make a movie of this..
Exelente!!!
Yo, this game was super hype when it came out. Little did we know, the opening got totally nerfed when it came stateside.
an old game... but a very DAMN GOOD one!!!!
i'm still playing it on my PS2 :)
Pound by pound... a masterpiece.-
I was inlove with this game :,( those times!
Loudmouth fly , feeder shade ,dreamer cast...
All of them are a good song for this intro but i like the us version just for the final boss theme
Indeed.
MAKE A SEQUEL FOR THE GAME TOO PLEASE!?
i miss this game
"YESS" EPIC!! 👍
12/12/2019 ? anyone? fav ps1 game
Somebody! Anybody! Just make a freaking movie out of this one already!
It sounds like him... I could have sworn that the guy who does the voice for Spike Spiegel also did the voice for the American Captain in Call Of Duty 1.
yes we did
2019 y aun esperando remake
It's only in the japanese one. You probably are confused (the intro was spoken in english anyway)
I dunno about the demo though.
Screw the movie I want another Omega Boost!!!! Especially with all them spiffy graphics we have nowadays I say we make a petition!!!!
i fucking love this song
excellent! ^_^
This game really rocks! Why didn`t they made a sequel or HD remake, even a movie?! Its an awful shame...
Me too!! haha Maybe more than 4 years! :(
Does anyone know witch version of the game has this song in it 'while' being in english at the same time? I wonder if Sony/PD will make a sequel or remake of this game for PS3/PSP2?
Fitra love classic fmv... They don't do this no more.
And gotta fav the japanese choice for the music here. The US intro music is not as good
How come in the US copy we did not get this opening?
The music on the english version is more kick ash
Still I love this game
@RicardoBr Most definitely.
Damn, Omega Boost is so awesome, why they don't make a sequel?
Also, this version is a lot better than the american one (Feeder FOR THE WIN). :D
gotta get me one of those heavy doll suits!!!
this was my game on ps 1 days.... stage 6, 7,8. is a nightmare...
no we got Loudmouth - Fly
instead of Shade
My fave part starts at 3:45 all the way to the end of the video.
this is the version
Gotta love the tech guy's accent!!!I know i do!haha
You know, as much as I loved this game, I never did figure out how to do that attack if you know what I'm talking about :)
can somebody tell me, how is the name of the Song ???
The Omega boost opening in English have diferent Opening song.
I whant the japanese opening song!!
is that Steve Blum doing the VA for this lol he really get around :P
I swear this has a TOOL vibe
it's a pity that Polyphony concentrated on Gran Turismo after this. Omega Boost had so much potential.
carne a la chucha
Steve Blum. Probably best known as the voice of Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop.
who is tht driver dudes voice from? hes from sum anime or sumthn
he's got his lucky vacuum tube with him

no idea dude. no idea
i kinda like it with the song 'Fly' more than this one though....

The pilot sounds like Roger Smith from the Big O. Can any one confirm who he is???
can someone please tell me the name of this music? thanks :D
