This is what starcraft is supposed to be, mind control, nukes, Battlecruisers and Carriers and fun stuff - not just boring Bisu dragoons+zealots vs Flash's tanks+vultures like in pro-games.
Ya if it was a pro game. We wouldn't see arbiter and we would see terran making wraiths.
I love that insane skill level, but “cool” and “fun” do get left out sometimes at top tier.
It won't work in pro game. when the time you try to mind control SCV, you will be dead by Flash's timing attack ...it takes 3 mins for dark Templar to merge to dark archon and extra 200minerals 200 gas to research mind control and gain 150 energy. And build an CC + 2 deport + barrack + factory + machine shop. + siege mode. You will just left behind for 8 mins and 1350 minerals and 500 gas just for spending on extra Terran build without any army/supply gain. That's mean your army will behind 30-40 supplies roughly 5 tanks + 10 vultures....and you will just die like that
@@jasonlynch282 Except Arbiter Recalls are like the standard midgame in PvT and Wraiths are garbage. Even carriers are fought with gols, because they are much easier to pump out.
Mind Control rarely makes sense in competetive matchup. Maybe for random-race-players. Your average Toss won't be able to micro your Zerg or Terran units in a way that makes the most of them.
@@jasonlynch282 You would see Arbiter actually, they are popular in PvT. Not so much Wraiths or BCs though. :/
My favorite part of this is at 42:42, as we are watching the Ghost walk right in and call a nuke, and Mr. Paladin is all: "Whars tha nuke? Whar is it??"

FALCON! anytime there is a nuclear launch just use the terrans perspective vision and should be able to find the ghost easier

I’ve literally seen thousands of BW replays so far and yet somehow I remember very clearly this one in particular. Rang a bell when the protoss mind controlled that SCV. This upload really brought back some good memories. Thanks FP!
After playing starcraft 1 and starcraft 2 most of my childhood and teen. now being 21 years old. I just love to come back and watch some replays of brood war. It really puts you away from reality and remember childhood after sitting in whole summer to play brood war. Ty Falcon and this replay was one of the best i've seen in awhile.

An interesting thing to know is that when you mind control the tank, for instance, you automatically steal all the researches, except for attack upgrades. So, instead of researching the siege mode you can just mind control the enemy tank

This is my favorite replay now! So much epic funness. I admire the skill of the other replays you've cast too, but this one so far has been the most entertaining.

Lol. The final mission of the OT Starcraft is really something, and it has a great replayability value because of how many strategies and compositions you can take into it... My favourite is just to spam zealots + marines and trample the zerg, lol, it's so simple and yet so effective

I found this in my saved games. I had forgotten all about it! I sure am glad that I ran acrost it! I believe that the dark arcon is the most powerful character in Brood War. If he mind controls an enemy, the enemy will kill for you.

The plus one air weapons is used to fake the terran into thinking he's getting goon range. Air weapons is cheaper, that's why they use that then cancel it rather than goon range.

I watched that Morthada game, right when it came out, and I've watched it several times since. It's an excellent game to watch for entertainment. If you haven't seen it for a while.I... watch it again. It's fun..
That one mega-nuke game between Scarlett and Mana. It's stupid long and you get to enjoy the Caster or Casters. Almost all of the casters, have casted that game. Another good one for watching again.
There's a six all pro players Doing a 3 on three team war. I can't remember all the players, Special and Scarlett were both playing off race.
Start one of these, and do the dusting, do the dishes, sweep and mop. Do something else look up when it's interesting to watch or take a break to see the good stuff.

i remember having a pack of similar deep tech matches, i suppose it was yoon vs. mujuk, with, like, stazis fields on the own carrier stack to avoid nuke damage and siege tank recalls. lost those with my old hdd. if someone might have them available and send them to you, it could've been a set of great casts.

Idk if you know this but you can black out the map and the team colors will be easier to distinguish. I used to use the balck map for carrier movements when I'd go all In on it

Every time Terran techs lockdown against Protoss opponents, it seems to work wonders, locking down Arbiters, Carriers, even dragoons in a pinch. I really think it should be used more. Not like ghosts are particularly expensive either compared to Templar, Defilers and Vessels

I just noticed... Lefthand is using a Neon Blue team color or Light Blue team color. Probably the same team color used by neutral forces, or the minimap color when the enemy is defeated. Blue in StarCraft is not this blue he used.
This should be included in some kind of Classic Falcon Casts compilation.

+1 air is cheaper than goon range so if you're going to fake an upgrade and cancel you pick that instead to keep the build tighter.

If Mio hadn't gotten that SCV, this would have gone very differently. Mio was definitely getting outplayed. Really needs to work on protecting his workers! =0

Why in most games don't they use the Ghost Terran unit? I see the Dark Templars used often for Protoss but almost no Ghosts ever used. Why not?

Yep, spamming keys shows what? Only that they can click keys very fast. The replays must keep track of the keys and mouse strokes. It would be interesting to find what keys and mouse strokes the players are making. Does anybody know the format of a replay?
If you can make tanks you can make goliaths.
Taking over a terran SCV makes more sense if the map is bigger with more resources to a big army is possible.
Siege tank+carrier would be brutal
