I'm impressed with your interview questions. Most people don't realize how difficult it is to conduct an interview without actually asking the same questions that others have asked. You were able to navigate your way really well, especially considering that the interview was in English, which is neither of your native languages. Job well done!
Thank you so much for this great feedback, No Mo. It's something I've always enjoyed in interviews: hearing about different things. I'm glad I can do that now and it's always great to hear what these artists can share with us. In the end it's all about the connection we can make, so the language we're speaking will be just a detail. Appreciate your comment! :)
Been a fan of Roy since discovered Kamelot in 2003. Glad to learn more about him over the years, following his career. Grateful that he is indeed a reasonable and decent man. I hope he continues being healthy and is content with his own journey. He's just a sweet guy.
Great singing is like painting. Anyone can put colours down, and talented people can put them in the right places. But there's something special when someone knows how to use texture and intent in each stroke. Just a lot of love for you and what you've done and continue to do! My lifelong favourite
Fantastic interview. Glad to see Khan is happy and healthy. What a blessing it is to share this world with such a prodigiously talented musician and wonderful human being off the stage. I can't wait to see Conception live. Hope to see Roy on JBP's podcast one day! ;) PS: great shoutout to Adrienne Cowan from Seven Spires at the start there - they're a stupendously good band and they are criminally under-appreciated at the moment.
Great job dear John! Really interesting questions about many different issues, Roy seemed to enjoy talking with you and sharing thoughts about the way he sees things and the atmosphere was very nice as well. As if you were both in the same room and I was also there sitting in a cosy chair and listening…of course we thank Roy for his kind and down to earth way to talk and reply and his positive energy! Many greetings from Athens and thank you for this interview! It was a pleasure and a gift! Take care! Keep up the good work and God bless! Love you Roy❤️🙏🏻
Thank you so much for such kind words, Christina! It was a great moment of my life talking with Roy and indeed felt like he was enjoying the chat. Appreciate your audience and it is lovely to know you had a good time watching it. Cheers from Finland! Take care of yourself! :)
Obrigado! :)
Excellent interview, thoughtful and well researched, without the ego or mic time of some other interviewers that I've seen. Congratulations and thank you.
Parabéns John , Obg pela entrevista vc nasceu denovo depois dessa entrevista, Roy Khan e sem duvida alguma uns dos Lords do Heavy Metal, um vocalista sensacional e uma figura respespeitavelmente icônica
Great interview. It seems to me that a number of the new Conception songs are about his leaving Kamelot, time away from the music industry, and return to Conception, so interesting to hear him sort of confirm that. Nice to get some personal anecdotes and hear an update on the solo stuff too, looking forward to that. But oof, Jordan Petersen. :( I struggle to reconcile the religious stuff with Roy's work and lyrics. I think there must be a different cultural experience of religion and how it intersects with right-wing views in Norway compared to North America. Particularly listening to 'Of Raven and Pigs' - he refers to the "unlikely bond between raven and pigs" but it seems like a very obvious bond, a natural fit, to me. Anyway, John, I also really love your videos you've made to go with the Conception live recordings, great work!
I'm glad you enjoyed the interview, K! It was a plan to hear Roy's thoughts about many subjects. Wow, really appreciate to hear that you enjoy my Conception videos! Thank you, sir! :)
There is no other Roy when it comes to front men, stage presence and emotion and although Tommy is a good singer, he is no Roy. Now that conception is back together I say this..... kamelot who?
What a nice man and a legendary vocalist. In fact, he's my favourite vocalist. Great interview

I simply love this man in the most puritanical of contexts. He's humble, genuine, and remarkably talented!
Roy is one of a kind! Hope you enjoyed the interview, Dave! :)
