It's hard to bear some of his "things" sometimes especially the food and children parts but if I'm interested in an electric car and want to see a detailed review I come here.
After watching videos of the latest South Korean cars being test-driven there, I understand why Hyundai/Kia hasn't focused as much on headlights like German automakers do. In South Korea, every street is well-lit, so there's hardly a need for the matrix LED 700-meter laser beam high beams when street lights illuminate every road.
Same goes in China aswell. its lit up on highway. can't say much about rural-roads though. In cities and highway it's well lit-up and when it's dark.. people behind/infront uses high-beam(blasting like never before) and the worst part. Cars behind do not turn their high-beam off even if you are infront.
It would be great to have matrix on the low beam as well, because when meeting another car on a hill the angles make it so you blind each other even if high beam is off.
Great lights Kia EV9, but now we need the new Model 3 with the matrix headlight software update and I believe Tesla is also rolling this out to Model Y's and earlier model 3's that have the Matrix projection headlights on the far left and right of the headlights.
Can you do a meter measuring test of how powerful and bright they are? You can test the output measuring it by Lux and then getting its lumens power output.
Hi, my Matrix LED don't work since delivery. I simply cannot turn them into Auto mode, and my Dealer has already contacted Kia in Korea but they neither can give a satrisfiying answer to resolve the problem. I have the Vehicle now since 4 month and for me the service from Kia seems to be garbage.
Bjorn, would you mind checking if the EV has some sort of dash cam/sentry mode like Tesla has? There's some talk about Korean models having it, US doesn't, but then there's no information on EU models.
Björn is the best car reviewer on RUclips, if you disagree, you are wrong :)
😂

Love these videos! Really useful to see what tech these companies are adding to their vehicles
I wish you could also start a headlight ranking in your spreadsheets. brightness, spread, matrix resolution and speed

Maybe they dont have dark in korea
That's just an excuse. Kia still lacks headlight technology.
Bjorn, you've done so many kilometers, how about a beer in Slovenia? Or whatever you drink. My treat ;)
The 2000km challenge 🤔 sounds like a good test for an EV

For adaptive directional you need to drift around the bends 😂
Alguien sabe si el Kia Sorento lleva estas luces también?

They don't. Only non-Tesla with dashcam are Nio and some other Chinese brands.
Nice vid!
Ist getting better but at this price point it needs to turn.
You forgot Ssangyong. Also Korean car company.
