This is the best Maggie interview I have seen of her. Kudos Trevor.
With humor and serious questions
IKR
Far and away, Trevor hit this out of the park.
Not only did Trevor do his homework, he has the intellect (and humor) to ask really relevant questions that provokes true insights. He's a gem.
@@TimeIdle
This is the main reason I will miss Trevor. He has the best interviews of everyone doing it today
Trevor is one of the best interviewers. Seen many with Maggie. He had the best questions.
Absolutely! One of the best interviewers. He's one of the rare few who reads the books by the authors he's interviewing and it shows in the interview. The people he chooses to interview are different usually as well. Definitely going too miss that when her leaves there show.
100%!
Agreed, but Trevor
(IMO) is first runner-up to Rachel Maddow's compelling questions
to the interview-ee.
A!!!!!!!
I think that Noah is a better interviewer than a comedian. He does not replace Jon Stewart, the exact opposite,, he expands the role.
I’ve seen a few of her interviews and this is by far the very best. And Trevor came prepared; so refreshing to see someone who actually looks like he read the book and pondered its content.
And regularly uses his brain....
He actually reads the books. You can’t fake understanding of a book at this level, no matter deep you’re briefed
Yep, he's a well read person in general but in most of the author interviews you can clearly see he's read the book. You can tell it's not fake. I saw 1-2 interviews where's he had not read the book and he never claimed he did read the book.
She was less stiff with Trevor. Sometimes her demeanor is downright cold. This time, rather warm, actually.
So much better than the shallow interview conducted by Colbert.
Hands down the best interview of Maggie Haberman I've seen. Smart, insightful, focused, informed. Excellent.
Wann say: Trump-Coverage from someone who understands not just the Fascination-witth-Violence but the Whole
Ghoul-Being named Donald.Jennifer.Trump: "Some More News".
Another thing we'll miss, Trevor, your interviews are always on point!
☝🏻
💯❣️
An outstanding interview. Both Trevor Noah and Maggie Haberman not only communicated well, but also shared their very brilliant views on their subject. Thank you both.
Maggie Haberman, Michael Cohen, and Mary Trump are the voices we need to slow this lunatic train down. More great interviews like this! Trevor knows how to deliver the message.
☝🏻
Mary wrote her book during the presidency, Michael is totally redeeming himself and this tw*t is making money almost two years after an insurrection. This particular author needs to be charged with obstruction of justice, along with several others whose books are coming out right now. Geez. The grift!!!!
George Conway , Larry Tribe , Glenn Kirshner and Bryan Tyler Cohen are definitely worth a few minutes .
Pretty sure that lunatic train is already too far down the track to be slowed. The best we can hope for is that he derails himself (as narcissist-sociopaths are wont to do) or natural event derails him. After reading "The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump" by the renowned psychiatrists, I'm surprised he hasn't derailed already.
You need to get to people who vote. Reason people need to vote. He's a narcissist.
This, right here, is what I'm going to miss most about Trevor on The Daily Show. He's so intelligent and he knows how to ask the right questions but he's still so incredibly charismatic. What an interesting conversation.
The "PERFORMANCE of Anger" is a wonderfully apt phrase to describe the mock-indignation that's supposed to win followers.
Best interview I've seen with Maggie Haberman. Thank you Trevor!!!
Colbert did a great one yesterday
@Howard Bueker yes, that you are a racist pos
@Howard Bueker his last day hasn't been decided yet?
@Howard Bueker yes, but how many subscribers does paramount + have? And how many of us watch exclusively on RUclips? Trevor’s first day everyone watched on cable. Now everyone streams.
@Howard Bueker doesn't speak to anything. Trevor is one of the most intelligent, funny and un-baised comedian in the world. It's okay if you don't like him. Not everyone likes people with different views from theirs.
Love watching Trevor's interviews. Going to miss them once he moves on from this show.
trevor brought a global viewpoint to the daily show that it didn't have before. it made his comedy hard to understand for some (at least at first), but it's a perspective we won't soon see again.
I heard a rumor he could be replacing James Corden. I hope so. I love Trevor's style. getting the bad news thru him somehow lightens the load.
“There isn’t a ton of the introspection you just described”- Maggie’s best line
Such a great job by Maggie. She's doing Goddess's work here!
Yeah, Trump doesn't even know or understand the meaning of the word "introspection".
@@bobdobbs69 qw
A political Idiot Savant then ?
trump would only think that "introspection" is part of the witch-hunt...
A pleasure to listen to two articulate people converse.
Except that Trevor was a bit off in this interview. He kept reacting "MmmHmm, MmmHmm" before she finished making the statement.
I really enjoy Trevor Noah / The Daily Show; however, this is off-putting and disrupts the dialog.
Unlike Fox News
It's unfortunate they don't have a better topic of conversation.
@@InspiredScience wasn't off putting to me. T'was rather insightful
@@allenugwu6206 - I believe you missed the point. The *interview* was insightful, clearly.
Yet ... It would be impossible for someone's "MmmHmm" talking-over another person, to be *insightful* by definition of the word "insightful."
Trevor is an incredible interviewer!
I'd love to see him do a long format interview show/podcast now that he's leaving.
Way better interviewer than comedian. Maybe he’ll work for CBS or something
He has a podcast

I love how Trevor does interviews. He does such thorough research and understands his guests so well. I've watched others interview Maggie about the book but the smile on her face at the end of this one indicates how much she enjoyed this interview. He's amazing and I'm sad he's leaving the show.
Trevor is so great at interviews. He always brings up questions not asked and summaries not mentioned before. I love how he interweaves international perspectives into his interviews as well instead of solely seeing things through a myopic American lens. I will miss his interviews and hope, even after he leaves the Daily Show, that he’ll do interviews on a larger stage.
Your comment captures what I like best about Trevor Noah. Thanks!
Why would he when he wasn’t raised in America?
He is a natural, and you can tell he does his research before the interview. He could easily work for any network news show to do interviews.
I am always amazed by Trevor's interview skills! The guy is sharp, and his questions are informed and often challenge the guest. His level of critical thinking is closer to one of an investigative journalist than a comedian. Trevor should do a master class for the prime-time hosts at Fox News😅😅😅!
They are not investigative journalists...
I am not saying Fox prime-time hosts are investigative journalists, but Trevor has similar competencies and could teach the Fox people how to ask interesting and valuable questions!!!!
Nice thought. Problem is they are not journalists, they are propagandists who always have their own agenda ahead of time to push irrespective of their guests.
We're going to miss you Trevor. You are such a skilled interviewer. This is a totally different, less combative interview than the Colbert interview. I don't know what the deal was. when she was on Colbert's show. But it seemed like neither of them wanted to be there from the time she walked out on to the stage. Trevor has magic with people.
Fr!!!
Yeah, wow. I just finished watching this interview. I watched the Colbert interview last night and I was excited about it, as Colbert is very intelligent and also very politically aware. But I definitely found the interview disappointing and lacking. The audience seemed like they wanted laughs and comedy, and kinda like Stephen was trying to give it to them. Tonight's interview however, at first the audience tried to laugh but quickly gave up because it was apparent that the subject was being treated seriously, and they sat silently engaged for most of the interview. I could have watched them go over this for at least an hour. Anyway I can't speak to why the Colbert interview missed the mark but I was glad to see this one tonight. And I look forward to reading the book.
I am always in awe for the deep dives Trevor Noah does when talking to an author. It is clear that he actually reads the books. ❤️❤️❤️Trevor Noah!
Reads and UNDERSTANDS the content… he doesn’t skim through for intriguing quotes…love his skills and I’ll miss that more than his comedy
@@valdeniasimmons2935 yes indeed!
Wow. After all the late night shows and interviews, I am left with 2 thoughts.
First - I never realized before how stunningly focused and detailed Maggie Haberman is until this book came out.
And, Second - Trevor Noah has a shockingly firm grasp of who trump is (WAY beyond joke writing). And he also has own amazing interviewing skills. I get the feeling he is the only one who actually read the book before Haberman came on the show.
Completely agree. I had exactly the same reaction. This is the best of the many interviews Haberman has done on this book tour.
I have no desire to read a whole book about Trump - but I definitely want to read this talented woman's skillful work & and professional analysis of the odd phenomena that guy is...
And just hands up for Trevor's as-always excellent interview skills!
Don’t leave Trevor!!!
He could talk to her for hours. I could listen to them for hours. Both so smart and so genuinely want to understand.
wish there was a show where two intelligent people talked ideas for hours.
@@stinareed7622 That does not fit the American 3 second attention span, I'm afraid.
Excellent interview with two highly intelligent people. So engaging and facinating.
Thought the same : she is so calm ..
I've watched several of the interviews with Maggie about her book. This is the best one I think and the most insightful.
Yes, dude is a 1980's shady businessman and has not changed.
Trev let’s the interviewee answer the questions , without interrupting!
He even listens intently to the answers… very rare, and therefore is The Best Interviewer I’ve ever seen.
Thank you Trevor, I will miss miss…please don’t disappear.
Fare Well !!!!
Best interview of Haberman on this book tour. Trevor, your voice will be missed.
Trevor does the work. What a fantastic conversation. Navigating the content and guest just right. But also clearly reading the book and reflecting on it to craft a nuanced opinion.
Love Maggie. So articulate, calm and logical. And Trevor's always a fabulous interviewer
Trevor Noah's knowledge and command as an interviewer is phenomenal. A gifted man
I like the sincere handshake at the end. It showed her as an equal. It also showed that he appreciated and respected her expertise as a professional in her field.
He will be missed.
This is pretty much what I wanted to say. It is so refreshing to see a man and a woman speaking as equals, and not even making a thing of it. More of this, please.
Jake Tapper of CNN interviews people in this manner too.
I'm gonna miss Trevor. He's taking the interview seriously, crowd laughing for whatever reason. But he's legit asking the right questions.
the crowd is laughing because she kept a bunch of critical information of public interest to herself so she could sell more books...literally everyone who has been paying attention hates her for keeping vital information from the public for her own gain
@@TwoTreesStudio she is not the first to do so and she won’t be the last.
@@TwoTreesStudio at what rate would you expect her to give this vital information, and in what fashion? Through a jumble of random tweets that individually may or may not capture the public’s interest? I think it’s actually much more effective to compile the vital information in a compact and logical manner (like in a book) and send it out all at once so people can get the big picture. Also, this book is being timed close to elections, when it will reach the most people and inform their voting. I’d say that’s the best case scenario for all parties involved, including trump, who seems to begrudgingly respect her work.
@@TwoTreesStudio Actually, while I do completely understand where you are coming from, I think there are also many people who have intensely followed the Trump presidency, who acknowledge that the truth is that there is nothing in this book that would have made any difference in the mind's of conservatives.
If you really sit back and think about it honestly, you begin to realize that Trump has done so many insanely selfish, arrogant and ridiculous things, that none of this would have made any difference. I'm sure you have observed how the MAGA people think, they would have twisted into something akin to an attack on their messiah and moved on. Not to mention, even if you disagree, there were so many other books published already that one could argue that the timing of this book in relation to the midterms is a net positive.
@@catmq2729 that was the same thought process I found myself in. I put myself in her shoes and timing seemed to be a roll of the dice. There's actually more strategy waiting till later.
Just bought the book on Audible. She reads it herself. Thank you, Maggie.
Thank you, Trevor. What will we do without you??????
Great interview! That was the best interview of Maggie Haberman so far with regards to her new book. Bravo Trevor👏👏
You two are so wise. An outstanding conversation!
Trev has it all. Funny, pithy, intelligent and a great listener. This show is a great vehicle for him. Where can he get better?
I have to agree. But, I think he wants freedom.
What a great interview! The irony is that the most illiterate occupant of the Oval Office in history has had so many books published about him 🤣

One of the best interviews I've seen recently. One thing I love about her choice of book title...I wonder how many people will realize what Confidence Man was abbreviated into over the years.
T'was abbreviated to what it means Con-man. Nice title I must say.

Mary Trump’s books are excellent too. She's known her uncle a long time. And he's even worse than you thought! Mary has been warning us about the orange agent...her uncle. Mary is an intelligent fearless woman who's genuine!
Tell it! This lady thinks she knows him Mary grew up knowing him🤔
Maggie Haberman is one of the most decent and trustworthy symbols of journalism. She is so calm and patient in dealing with most challenging situations while doing her job and her retrospective and introspective observations are very relevant and understandable. I have my huge respect for all of her contributions and achievements.
I am sooo gonna miss your wonderful conversations with your guests! Intelligent, well prepared, entertaining. You're a master interviewer/ conversation host. 🙏
Wow! Ms Haberman has proven that she is an extremely intelligent
person, and which was also highlighted by her being very impressively articulate and concise in the delivery of her talking points! She most definitely has given a truly holistic and precise outtake on who and what the Orange Clown really is,an in-depth view of how he thinks and what he stands for...basically giving one a much wider and better understanding of the man himself. She would certainly do well if she ever decides to take a stab in the political arena! I'm immensely impressed indeed! Also, kudos to Trevor for just being his usual entertaining self, while showcasing his own brand of wit and intelligence, along with his clear comprehension of the topics at hand!😎👏👌👍
Trevor, your interview with Haberman is the best of all the ones I've seen so far. You and your team put in an amazing amount of work into this interview. Congrats!
I've seen so much hate towards Trevor Noah after his announcement, and for all those who don't think he's as funny or whatever as Jon Stewart (which is already a ridiculous comparison), he is one of the best interviewers out there. Knowledgeable, prepared, ready to improv. He's like Kara swisher plus Howard stern. Improv plus comedy plus real

They are just internet trolls .trevor is well loved international comedian who is at the top of his game and he wants to leave this show coz it isn't serving him anymore but he has still contract with paramount global so he will be in the USA for long time until he becomes US citizen 😉 Hopefully soon
People forget that as humans we are unique and have different choices. Same with comedy. Everyone can have their own choice of comedians they enjoy. I love Trevor Noah for so many reasons.
Anyway I just don't get that people think that the world wants to know about their negative opinion of someone's profession. If you don't like someone that's fine. Unless what they are doing is evil you can just move on without letting the world know. But to come to his RUclips videos and reply to comments to voice your dislike, why?

That was a really impactful interview, Trevor, so interesting, great questions and discussion!
Excellent conversation of two smart people! Trevor shines at these interviews. I will miss them tremendously.
Whatever anybody thinks of Maggie Haberman aside, I'll just say this: Trevor Noah is one of the best interviewers in the business. Yes, his stock in trade is comedy--but he clearly, thoroughly, researches his subjects and their activities. He's so smart, and he asks insightful questions. Even Haberman is a little surprised at how knowledgeable Trevor is about her book (12:56). We are really going to miss his contributions when he leaves The Daily Show. I hope he lands someplace where he can make even half as big an impact.
A wonderful interview. Trevor has a rapport with the people he interviews. I for one will miss him & hope he gets work doing these kind of stuff. He can hold his audience which is a rare thing.

To understand the bunker baby, you just need to have grown up in a city where people easily recognize a con-artist. I'm not even joking when I say this; one way you can tell a conman from literally a block away, is they are constantly patting some invisible object between their hands when speaking. That's not a bunker baby thing, it's specific to con-artists. When a person is refuting something, their palms go outward in a "warding off" gesture, when they are accepting something, the palms will turn inward, or upward in a gesture of acceptance, and when they are creating something out of nothing (aka, lying), they will pat, knead, and mold the thin air with palms facing each other. It's where the term "making it up out of thin air" comes from.
Anyway, I think this is one of the main reasons the bunker baby can hardly fool anyone who grew up in a city where learning to spot a con-artist is a survival skill, as compared to many rural folk who historically are far more easily taken in by snake-oil and the like. It's why they themselves coined the term "fast talking city slicker."
Edit: that's not a criticism of city versus rural, it's merely observation. There are positives and negatives to most things in life, it's just that where there are more people, people learn more because they have more interactions with a much larger amount and larger variety of other people. The same person can grow up in either place and end up with a very different skill set.
Best interview with her since publication. Great questions Trevor. You can't be done🤷♂️
Trevor has a unique way of mixing humor and serious current content that has been his trademark on this show. It’s like what you see in the mixing and production of a marble cake, the contrast is not lost in the process. He has perfected it and for sure will be missed when he moves on hopefully to bigger and better things.
I think the media needs to stop playing into his need for attention. He’s like a child. Ignore him.
🙏
The problem is he is an ex US president (I still can't believe it) who has stolen sensitive classified documents from the government and has many fruad charges and investigations around him, you can not ignore that!!!
