Concrete Pour and Polishing Concrete Floors, Incl. Full Time Lapse - Machine Shop Build Ep. 13
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 16 май 2019
- Machine shop floor is getting poured in. Pouring and concrete leveling is done by a professional construction contractor. Surface hardener was added before concrete polishing with a trowel machine. I also did a concrete pour time lapse from this and you can see nice smooth shiny polished concrete floors as a result. Enjoy! I know I will.

For just one man doing it he look like he knew his business. Good job on that!
I think so too! He's a pro.
This is going to be a great workshop, which you will be happy to work in. Grat
I agree. I'm already happy to walk in it without tripping. 😂
You do this on ur own u rock!!!
I don't know how you're going to get anything done with all that light and being able to walk on an even floor lol
Very happy for you and look forward to your projects in your newly remodeled space!
I don't know either. Imagine putting a step ladder somewhere without the need of adjustidng the stance due to uneven floor. It is mind boggling. 😀
Floors of my dreams 😁 no dust, no rocks, no cracks, easy to clean. Good choice and 1k likes 😁
And cool to the touch and feel.
Btw my house has polished concrete on the entire first floor. Love it!
Which is expensive tile floor or concrete floor ?
The floor looks like a million bucks, nice and shiny. You are going to have an amazing shop, when your done.
Tue fact that I can start building steel constructions or frames literally from the ground up ON the ground that's perfectly flat makes my life so much easier when fabricating stuff. I love it!
He makes it look easy!
Thank you for sharing your story. God bless you and your family
Thank you for watching, I appreciate it!
Looking really good.
Looking great
finally in a good place to work too ... great steady. Always healthy, brother ...
Pretty Gooood :D
😀🙃😉
Good job! Wish you success!
Thank you very much!
VERY NICE SUPER, LIKE 5 + + +.
Just what I needed, to watch. Very informative!
I've a similar project, stalled at the moment, because setting in the reinforcing, and pipework, then concreting is the next step. So, using a contractor for the concreting, might be a good idea, as my back is not up to much bending work.
Perfect...
Looking good Donn! In-floor radiant heat was a wise choice.
Absolutely, I would have definitely regretted not putting it in.
Muito bom parabéns.
They did a great job!
Absolutely!
Looking good!
It does. I wish I was so skillful at leveling concrete. 😀
Very Nice job.
That’s ace mate 👍🏽
Muito legal, parabéns 👏👏👏👏👍👍
Thanks for sharing that
The time lapse at the end was pretty cool.
I just wanted to save the whole work progress. So fun to watch how a whole lot of work gets done in a short period of time and how the progress goes.
Прекрасный результат!
Da! 😉
Good Job Done...
Nice job! 💪 When I'm getting to this point :D
Soon I hope!
Screeding with a piece of trim niceee
so satisfying! :D
Yup!
Great job. Greetings from Brazil...
Greetings from Estonia!
Who knew that concrete could make so many people happy!
Smooth workshop floor makes me happy for sure.
good job
Полы с подогревом класс!!! 😊
🎅🏻👍 Pro Work!
I agree. I was in awe when I saw the finished floor for the first time.
bon travail
Waouh !!!
Estonia 🇪🇪 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
That was some amazing professional work. Perfect. Love it!
Also... does it require some oil of some sort to protect it???
I want make floors
Give me phone number
Congratulations.
Thanks man!
Nice.much wetter than I like it. My dad worked construction for 45 years, Always said the drier the better. Wet concrete chips on the surface over time. One man did a great job though
Какой порошок используется при затирке?
Well impressed with that floor top guys,it wasnt untill near the end that i realized the mixer and pump were 1 unit in the uk the pump turns up sets up waits for the concrete truck bill in the uk
Jarjekordselt veendun!,energia ja tahtmine võrdup ime!
First! Looks great Don......I’m really looking forward to seeing how you move the lathe.....that’s going to be a royal pain in the ar......e!!!!
I agree. I will probably run out of curse words. 😂
That floor is going makw life much easier. Easy to clean easy to use. With how flat it is you could get pretty heavy shop carts and not have to worry about them rolling off.
Absolutely. I will definitely enjoy it.
What is the steel used? What is the thickness of the floor? Also most important question what is the mixture ratio?
Goood Job!!!
Thanks man!
@@DonnDIY That's how it should be done
If we could only do that all in 6 min LMAO $$ great job the guys
Those guy’s or that guy is amazing. That floor is finished beautifully, just don’t move the lathe too soon and risk cracking the floor before it achieves any real strength from curing.
You're right, I'm definitely gonna give it the time it needs to cure. Don't want to mess up perfection.
Donn DIY On the channel of Odell Complete Concrete i always see them making crack joints in slabs without any foundation (like sidewalks). Just fingers crossed that your floor stays in one piece. It looks good.
шумбрат) молодец тера!
Awesome concrete work Donn. That is going to be an awesome work shop area when you get it all put back together. We wish you the best and thank you for sharing with us.
Thanks for the support and for watching the vids. See you next time! 😉
Why was there a light in the liquid cement? The floors look amazing tho!!! Good job bro.
4:41 you can see that is coming from the top.
looks "Pretty good!"
😀🤘
2:50 imange that someone falls in that perfect solid concrete floor and ruining it’s perfectness!
*or getting stuck in it when it hardens*
How much timegape better pouring and polishing..
shiny
Jesus how long did this take? My dream floor!
👏👏👏
At least you should explain how you have done this amazing job!!!
a few episodes are missing ep 4, 5 and 12 :( but good work a nice warm shop to potter about in.
So when does the carpet go down?
When floors are so good , carpet should be on the wall 😁
That floor looks a little bit better than the former floor. How you will enjoy having this one!
Yup, I did a crappy job on the motorcycle garage floor. I have to polish it to match the work that was done by a professional. Or at least get closer to it.
@@DonnDIY hi Donn amazing job , where are you guys and who could do that for my villa project ?
Good luck
Cheers!
Thank you soo much Donn DIY 😊💪💪💪👍
That concrete wasnt polished, just hard troweled with a machine. Your concrete guy did a great job and obviously knows what hes doing by screeding flat and using pans on his machine at first to get it even flatter, but its still not polished concrete like title says. More like a "burnished" concrete floor.
it would be a great foundation for a polishing contractor to start with though, if you wanted an actual real diamond polished floor
He used surface hardener so no diamond polishing was needed. The floor is polished by my standards, thus the title. Sorry if it's misleading.
👍
Nice job! :) Is the floor wiping and dusting?
No dusting compared to the non-hardened floors. I will not do concrete floors any other way anymore. This is the best with surface hardener. Really easy to clean up.
Looks pretty sweet. 👍 Are going to coat the floor or leave it as is?
Leave it as is.
Donn DIY, I understand, this is not your living room. Although I doubt it. 😉
I can tell by the power trowel that it is very level, great job, professionally placed...and smooth finish!!!!
What is the price of concrete per cu. yd./ cu. m.? Before my retirement concrete in my area was $130/cu.yd. (2014).
I think so too. I'm confused about the imperial units but this 26,3 m2 took 2,7 m3 of concrete. The prices vary, the concrete itself was around 90+ EUR perhaps, but there were other additional fees and of course the contractor's salary.
@@DonnDIY ..Your price of concrete is comparable to ours, thanks
@@DonnDIY..A cu. yd. in imperial is a 36" cube....(1.3079 cu. yd. equals 1 cu. m.)
I see that your project needed 2.7 cu. m......or 3.53 cu. yds.
I built a bridge/road project in 2001 using the Metric System as that was one of the early jobs in the US to be 'engineered, designed and drawn' using metric measures.
In September, 1996, our US Government/States started engineering/designing federal projects in metric measures as our officials had voted to convert to metric. But later they 'got scared' and cancelled the transition and we continue with the Imperial System.
*just wait ‘till I drink it while it’s still fresh*
Could I do this same job with 60lbs bags and an electric mixer? If I screed as I go?
Good job👍🏻 is it slippery when wet?
🤩....
混凝土硬化以后不需要浇水养护吗?
Gday mate what is the thickness overall? Used? Thanks!!!
The flooring is lookin great Donn, whats next?
Small projects here and there but in the workshop I'll have to clean and paint the walls, paint the new workbench and bring it in etc. Lots of small stuff to do. 😉
@@DonnDIY Good luck with that Donn, will be a good veiwing. Enjoy your videos. Thank you for that.
Congrats looks great.. Now did you put your name and date in a corner so people 2000 years from now can see you did it . Are you going to seal it to prevent seeping in of oils and crap. And when it was done did you have the same glint in your eye as when you got your first motorcycle:)
Nope, no name, no date. I'm gonna leave it as is. It might get stained but hey, it'll still be flat and that's important!
@@DonnDIY Agreed and it looks pretty !
why you use water to sprinckel ure floor? the concrete is not drying that fast friend......
That’s not polishing concrete, that’s just finishing it smooth
Is this a cheaper option compared to tiles?
Concrete laminar flow?
What was the powder you used when using the helicopter
Good job!! did your back hurt at the end of the day?😨😨😨😨😨
Nope, I was just filming.
@@DonnDIY they did a job as real professionals☺☺👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@DonnDIY That guy on the screed ... that wasn't his first job!
Awesome video of an awesome job well done!
What is the name of machine you are using to finish the floor.
Great Job!What's the name of the Polishing Concrete Machine?
Concrete chopper. 😁
what are those white pipes in the floor maybe heating?
Yes, floor heating.
You forgot to put the polishing part in the video...all you showed was you pouring and finishing.
Concrete polishing happens after your slab cures...and it's the hard part. ;)
Work time ? How long do you have to do that ?
The guy did it in one evening, waited half an hour or an hour and did it again.
nice... hope you remember to spray water on it so you dont get cracks
I was told by the contractor today that no additional water is needed inside the room although I already moisturized it on my own. I believe him.
whats the name and model of the polishing machine?
no vibrator to get the air out of the concrete?
2 flaws. 1st is no vibration. 2nd is throwing cement over the surface whilst floating. The floor is thin and the concrete had a high slump so most air probably was tamped out when striking off. You should never throw cement powder on as it can onion peel off later, the action of the power float blades is supposed to draw the cement fines to the surface and so create a dense crust.
The concrete look like a diarrhea strike when it's dropped on the ground 🤣
That's what my mother said. 😂
😂
Nice dancefloor
😅

That's not concrete polishing. That floor was not even burnt! Burnt just a little.
03:16: What kind of machine is this?
Kas kopterdamine oli vajalik? Latiga jäi juba päris ilus.
Kopterdamine pinnakõvendiga on absoluutselt vajalik - hea prügi põrandalt kokku lükata ja betoon ei jää tolmama.
Kaua kuivama peab enne kui sisse saab kolida ?
Lasen rahulikult olla põrandal nüüd. Arvatavasti nädala vms. Pean muidugi järgi uurima, mis lubatud on.
можно было самому замесить эти 50кв
The sounds of the timelapses are messing with my head.
Sounds that are not real usually do that. 😀
