Just watched the whole gig. Very good show! Ace seems to be in very good shape. There were songs I didn’t hear any mistakes. He’s playing with such energy that shows just how much he cares about his fans. Thanks for posting!
Just like when I went to see the hair bands in the early 2000’s-2015 and people say they aren’t the same, I would say just be glad they are still here and enjoy the memories as they play..
He never could sing. He just talks through it like Bob Dylan or Alice Cooper. Still better than his former band with backing tracks all over the place.
I love to see all the sweet compliments about Ace! He does look great! IDC what ppl say rather they like Kiss or not, they set the bar high!;) there will never be another band like them! Such an influence on so many great bands tht came after! Yes probably the band they like was probably influenced by Kiss or Ace in some way shape or form! They can do whatever they want imo! They earned it!
Man Ace’s band is so solid, they’re all in sync aswell that cover vocals for Ace when he needs that support. Kudos to Ace aswell though, still at it after 50+ years 🤘⚡️🤘
I was there too. To your left in the center 2nd row. I think overall Ace kicked ass. He did have a blown amp and a bad monitor mix. And the bass players sound went dead too. Really the only thing that was not technical problems was the last 1/4 of the song “She” where they fell totally fell apart. Oh well things happen. Overall it was a fun time. Aces solo was killer! Good to see Ace still rockin it.
I was trying to remember which song went sideways at the end. The rest of the guys did a great job steering it back. Awesome show & very unforgettable for me to meet him afterward!
That's extremely unprofessional for a name of his caliber to have "blown out amps and monitors". Especially to charge $50 a ticket. Touring acts like this should ALWAYS have an immediate back up plan for scenarios like this. That's BS and just extremely lazy.
Ace was a sloppy player back in his younger days when he was good! Now at his age i am just happy that he is still alive and kicking. So what if he needs his awesome band behind him carrying him a little now. He is a living legend!!!!!
All the haters, he rocked, he played great, he's a rock star! you missed a great opportunity, possibly last time to see him in Des Moines! Remember this guy's 73 years old!
Well haters are online only. Dont give them power by mentioning them in the very first sentence?!. Also thin line between a contractive con comment and hater one, right. A fanboi will have a hard time seeing the difference between the 2. Thx for the upload here
This was a good Ace Frehley show. Not great but good. Trixter was fantastic and got to meet PJ and Steve Brown after the show along with Ace. But the great staff at the Val Air Ballroom were the best!! Fantastic people. Always smiling and charming. Well worth the 4 hour drive from Western Wisconsin.
People come to see Ace because he was the original legendary guitar player in one of the biggest rock bands ever kiss not because of his great solo career . In the 70s 80s early nineties he was pretty damn good. From 2000 till today not that great at all.
Ace has always been a decent player and songwriter. Watching him now when can not sing or play decent and be a true performer is sad. Ted Nugent blows him and many half his age of the gd stage. Write some new songs also. enough.
You know something, I was there and Ace kicked ass. He is in his seventies and still doing what he loves. Train wreck? Trolls that have nothing better to do than run their mouths about others online. You must have a really great life to sit and talk shit about one of the greatest guitarists to ever play. Where will you be in your seventies? If you don't like the video , don't fucking watch it. Also it wasn't cocaine for Ace genious, do your research before you run your mouth!
Just because you can still throw a football at 73 years old doesn't mean you should still be on the field throwing the ball. Total cash grab as well. This is honestly just kinda sad. Val Air holds 2,000 people and I guarentee their were less than 500 people in attendance. Also, blown out amps, stage monitors, band completely lost mid song, etc only shows complete unpreparedness/laziness.
The soul of KISS! Ladys and gentlemants..

lol Are you smoking crack? He’s a f-ing shit show.
The bassist isn't in tune the entire show and keeps forgetting parts constantly. Ace plays and sings when he wants. Nope. Nothing.
great set list! if i still lived in Iowa, this would have been my birthday present! Sounds good!
Ace Fricken Frehley, great time, front row and cool as hell. Great to see you again, last time was the Farewell tour. 👍👍👍👍🎸🎼🎵🎶🎵🎶
Must have been amazing @scottjunge9916

Wow amazing video took lots of work ! Thanks!
Thank you for uploading this. Going on Feb 1st 2025. Portland, Maine. He hasn't been here since 94.
Have fun at the show!
Thank you for sharing this! ❤

@@kissdiaries yeah. If u can't play or sing its great.

When he's off it sucks. But when he's on it's Epic. Great concert. Thanks for uploading it.

This was a great night. Glad to finally have Ace back in DSM after 10+ years. Only bummer for me was the amp blowing during the "Shock Me" solo.

@tannerbuckley8126 There was a backup, which they immediately got hooked up for the rest of the show.
Still my guitar hero, since Kiss Alive.

You're exactly 💯 right!!! They're ignorant 🤬
AMEN! Rock on ACE!
You’re either deaf or on medication if you thought this was passable.
Chapeau l'artiste! 😉

Did you do the meet & greet with Ace?
@MelvinZoopers I did yes
@@MH-bb2kf Me too. I was 3rd in line.
I literally checked the dates a month before this and never saw this specific show listed. Feel cheated out of this lol
It came up without much warning, 3-4 weeks.
@MelvinZoopers that explains it. Never thought to check sooner

Great setlist…Parasite and She….
Classics!
Ace Frehley Rig Rundown: “well, I use a Les Paul straight into a Marshall with 2 4x12s”
What Marshall though? There are many.
49:50
This is a great show compared to some he has had in the recent dates.
Pretty decent, drummer is great, but what ever happened in Rip it Out?
It took Ace more than half the song to realize that his guitar wasn't even on!
I've been critical of a lot of Ace's concerts recently, but he actually sounds pretty decent here. Not great or even good, but decent lol.
Haha! Yeah!
Ace is really slow...is he doin´ok?Hope he is still sober...but respect my youth idol on Kiss
People paid for this?
🤘
@@MelvinZoopersThe Fonz is a butt rash.
No 10000 Volts ?
No, & that is a great song too!
@@MelvinZoopers I wonder why he doesn't play more of that album ?
@invisibleman1028 I think he needs to play 2-3 from the new album, but most people just want what they are familiar with.
@@MelvinZoopers True but considering it was actually a successful album. Thanks for the reply
3:20 Does that make him unjust? 🤣🤦
He blew the head on his Marshall right on the first song!

It is great to see the living legend. You are very out-of-touch because he released a new album this year with new songs.

Whatever happened to Aces first wife jennette???
And his childhood neighbors???
