Taka's live performances, in my opinion can't be measured with studio work. It's always amazing and strong. Also the live performance you chose for the vid. Was the last night of a whole Europe tour and he still sounds awesome. That alone already shows how strong of a singer he really is.
Can we all agree that all of the bands here are really great live than their studio one ??.Specifically, of course, Taka/OneOKrock who is well known for always putting a shame their studio version.
@@blu3r0s4 As Sul sur said. mics turns the sound into datas that goes through some device that is used to balance mic/music before goign to the speakers. Well all japanese rock doesn't need autotune becoz they sing live. Live performance/concert is their profit.. not the album sales. So they need to be the best among the best to stand tall.. like their previous jrock legend who r still stand tall untill now.
Thank you for posting this. I love OOR live performances more than the records, and got to listen to some other (than OOR) J-rock in this video thanks to you. Greetings from Poland.
He is one of the few people that sound better live than on studio version imo tbh, like, there is some songs I struggle to listen on albums bcs the live versions are so good ^^
Yeah, this is why I love the live versions better, I miss the days that ppl weren't obsessed with making songs sound perfect, I miss when song imperfections were part of the style and emotional pull of the song, it loses some of the emotions when the autotune is obviously too much
I feel like most if not all sound pretty good without autotune. I also feel like I dont know why people hate on autotune so much. In moderation it is what music good but too much will make it like there is no talent.
Do you know about autotune? If you mention about studio vocal, that's effect of mixing or mastering for comercial needed. That's important thing to filtering, mixing, and mastering to make the vocal and music blend. Not only voice. In studio and stage you can see the mic or condensor is different. Mic in studio can't used on stage.
Pitch correction (that I roughly called autotune) can be used during live performance It is commonly used by rappers for aesthetic reason but other singers use it, singers (especially pop singers) are put on so much pressure and held to too high standards. There is several autotune live fails video btw Those singers tho I doubt any of them use it
Great video other than your claims about at being used on 99% of commercial music and being acceptable. It is not ok to fake being better than you are, and musicians need to improve their singing skills to the point that they get great studio recordings without AT. There was no timing correction of vocals, automatic or manual, until the late 90s. Most music in recorded history didn’t have it. Bands were simply better singers, but also people valued the fact that auto tune is NOT technically in tune. Harmonies and intervals are not equal tempered in music… and well tempered pianos and synths are an average approximation of acceptable tuning. Great vocalists are actually out of tune if you use a computer to manually it automatically retune them. This is why serious musicians are so offended by autotune… It is literally the dumbing down of music where all of the artistic expression of a performance is lost and made to sound like a synthesizer playing it… which is not actually “in tune”. But I DO APPRECIATE YOUR VIDEO and you did a great job of showing them singing intervals and harmonies live without auto tune, and the live sounds better in every single example you posted. I love your video! Just that claim you made in the first slide is your opinion and is absolutely not what many musicians or music listeners agree with.
The only better part in the studio version about Taka's performance is his pronunciation. He tends to have some difficulties in pronouncing some words, which sometimes can be cringe lol.

I thought it would be:
"Taka doesn't need autotune, Autotune needs him"
I love these two comments

Taka's voice is awesome... What a beautiful voice ...
Taka’s natural voice is the best
Taka sounds in live so perfect his voice is absolutely pure gold🧡
The vast majority of Jrock bands have a good command of live shows ... Good technique
This was very interesting. Just goes to show us that Taka is awesome and doesn't need any help with his voice.
