Good stuff! Thanks for sharing. I used to run one like this in the back of my Xterra on wheeling/camping trips. I used a solar panel that I plugged into the front cig lighter outlet that would help keep the battery topped off while running the cooler, parked.
We have a camper van and we need a new fridge. I’m thinking about something small. We have had a thermoelectric one but it was to noisy. I can’t find anywhere about domestics sound level. I’m sound senseless and we are sleeping directly above the fridge so it needs to be really silent. How loud is the sound when it’s running?
This one is not silent, it uses a standard compressor. I would recommend any fridge with a “danfoss “ compressor. They are basically silent, but they cost a bit more.
After having my car’s battery get drained by coolers, I bought a battery bank like a Goal Zero or Jackery. This way, it can be charged from the car, but not cause you to be stranded. It also allows you to run it at a campsite without needing the car.
dfloyd888 I’ve heard really good things about both. A dual battery system is something I’d like to look into. We usually have a generator, or solar panels at the cabin. But there are some interesting options for dual batteries now. Thanks for watching !!
