Similar to that wooden pipe, up here in the Pacific Northwest, old roads have what are called, "barrel culverts." Where a wooden culvert, that is basically built like a barrel with multiple wood slats and iron rings around the outside that hold it together. (Each slat has a trapezoidal type cross-section where several put together forms a circle.) Did you notice a distinct temperature difference from outside to inside the mine? Thanks for sharing!
Interesting. I don’t try ink I have ran across those pipes in other places. Appreciate the additional info. The temp was very different in the mine. It stays around 69-70 degrees Fahrenheit year round in there. Thanks for watching and commenting. Also my daughter and I went to an old stage coach stop and the episode will be out later this week. Thought of you all while editing it.
Going through an actual mine from the 1800s is rare and I am happy I could share it with you all. If you ever visit Calico it is a must do.
Another interesting video Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it. It was fun going back through after all of these years.
Great video! Thank you!
You are welcome and thanks for the compliment. It is appreciated.
Great way to see mine.
Thank you. It was fun to walk through and share with you all. I think there are some amazing salt mines in Michigan. Hope to make it someday.
