- Earlier, Hungary had a simplified policy of issuing passports to people. It was enough to declare Hungarian origin to get one. Therefore, some people got passports fraudulently. Thanks to that they could enter the United States under the Visa Waiver Program. Later, the US stated about tightening the entering procedure and demanded the personal information of those Hungarians who are abroad and have dual citizenship. The Hungarian authorities refused to do so. Where the disaggrements between the countries will lead - learn in our report.

Hungary buys natural gas from Russia because it’s the only way the everyday man can hear it’s home and not freeze to death.
Than again we only import something like 5% when Belgium imports almost 19% of Russian gas.

I understand that Hungary seemed to be politically much more infiltrated by Russian Soviet influence in their country than many other ex Soviet states in independence, but he has been following the whole Soviet and Russian modus operandi of taking power in all sections of society, ownership of all media, changing the constitution without the people's choosing, his party and supporters supported by Putin in this deliberately rowing back on freedoms in the country and taking power to himself, and using the EU as a source of funding to do it..
In my opinion, it is not that he is against war - all western countries are against war... It is all power for him and using Hungary's membership of the EU to help fund him in his authoritarian agenda because Hungary cannot be voted out of the EU.

Orban is a Putin puppet. Hungary is a taker a parasite on the EU. Ukraine defends it's security and will add to it economically in the future, they are far more technologically innovative. Hungary puts the EU at risk and doesn't share their values. Should just go ahead and be Belarus. It would be better economically and militarily for Europe if Hungary left. Better for everyone all around Hungary would be happier with Russia. It's where they belong. They share the same values and vision of the future - which basically is none.

Hungary heavily pending on natural gas to heat Hungarians home. Unfortunately the infrastructure was build out during soviet occupation. Orban said we can’t get National gas from other countries because the everyday Hungarian wouldn’t able to afford it. EU didn’t take into consideration that our winter gets -20 Celsius cold and people will freeze to death. They didn’t help us get National gas from other way. No they started cutting aid to Hungary. So we didn’t really have a choice did we? The EU is more fixated on helping a country that isn’t even in its group and let people die who live among its group.
Regarding immigration. Hungary welcomes legal immigrants we are helping over a million refugees from Ukraine. We don’t want to let illegal immigrants in our country. What is the point of borders than? The wall that the US said has a gate every 500 meters were are military officers ready to check ur papers. If u are clean aka not a criminal u are welcome but if u don’t have papers how should we know u are not a murder who is trying to run away from authorities? I think it’s completely fair. And I think Hungary and Poland is completely right not to letting anyone in.

I think it’s hypocrite behaviour to say Hungary is apposing a security threat because they give Hungarian people who live outside of Hungary(65% of Hungarian got stuck outside they motherland after ww1) Hungarian passport so they have a chance to get back to Hungary. Ans I just read an article that EU is mad because we are not buying Ukrainian grain. Why would a country that is one of the biggest farmers in European Union who has its inflation above 15%, and produces enough grain for itself buy another countries grain? But now that the war is happening between Ukraine and Russia all of the sudden EU is welcoming Ukraine and EU has nothing to do with NATO. Hungary since 2017 asked UA to restore the rights of Hungarian minority in Subcarpathia, which was occupied by stalin, thus became the part of Ukran SSR in the USSR. But since the Kiev regime had time in 2022 to further cut the minority rights, I guess they do not really want to be in EU and NATO. :)

Directly appeal to the people of Hungary. Tell them that, unless they elect a more evolved and enlightened leadership, they will be thrown out of NATO and the EU. As corrupt as the Hungarian leadership is, they have no business pointing fingers at any foreign corruption as justification for them always putting a cane through the spokes of the civilized European nations.
not sure you're being fair about history regarding Hungary....I mean they were among the few who actually had an armed revolution during the Soviet Empire and NOBODY helped them except maybe some Polish rebels. As an American, I feel bad, the CIA helped the Taliban but not Hungarians. Why? Cause Britain/France were throwing tantrums over their empire collapsing while we were trying to win a cold war across the world.
It's not just the Hungarians who play stubborn in Europe, sometimes the French/British can be really annoying too, just look at France's military aid to Ukraine, considering they wanted to be the "protector of Europe" and Macron can't stop talking about that EU army crap but now look at how much they are willing to spend to protect Ukraine. Clearly he was just trying to get more influence and talk shit about the US, but all bark no bite, the French people are unwilling to spend the money necessary to protect the free world and get the influence that comes along with it, so they should stop complaining about the US having so much influence when the US is the one that spend most of the money on defense. Course America is imperfect too, Iraq 2003 was a huge mess up, 30,000 accidental civilian and being there at the same time as the much more brutal Iraqi Civil War ruined America's image abroad, and the West as a whole, which helped divide us and embolden Putin to invade Ukraine. So yah, oh and we helped China become a superpower, then Germany did that stupid thing with their Nordstream. Canada literally froze the bank assets of peaceful protestors and nobody talks about it, they are in a darker more dystopian brainwashed state than the world realizes, Trudeau is a scary person with how far he went with the freedom convoy and how he actually invited CCP to train and base on Canadian soil, INSANE. So as you can see, all Westerners, whether they be North Americans or Europeans, are imperfect and at different times in different ways throw spokes into the wheels of Western Civilization.
I do not understand why Orban has forgotten the Hungarian Revolution, as it seems he has, which is sad, but I do agree with some of his policies, like on Immigration. Small nations should not be pressured into accepting refugees or immigrants, honestly no nation should be, but smaller ones especially have a right to be a bit more culturally protectionist. We protect Native American cultures here like they are endangered species but apparently its ok to replace Eastern European cultures according to Brussels? By the way, pretty sure Ukraine actually agrees with Hungary and Poland and me on immigration, they don't' want millions of Muslims coming in from Mid-east, they have the Tatars, but I don't see them taking many Muslim immigrants in the future, and if they do, they would probably be Turks from Turkey or Azerbaijan. But most likely, Eastern Europe will probably stick to mostly Christian immigrants in the near future. I think that's fair, these nations do not have populations of hundreds of millions like mine, and even nations with larger populations like Germany do not have the know how or the experience or geography built for immigration like the US has, we spend centuries on this stuff, Merkel was cute trying to roleplay as us but it almost collapsed the EU. And remember, Merkel was pro-Nordstream, so yah...she was not the good leader people paint her as.
And don't pretend like Hungarians were never on the right side of history (and they were often abandoned when they were giving them negative reinforcement to stop picking the right sides). From the Hungarian Revolution to fighting off the Ottomans and the Mongols, dethroning the Avars with the Germans, and trying to help the Eastern Roman Empire with Bulgars only to be betrayed by the Eastern Roman Emperor and losing huge portions of their tribes to Bulgars and Pechenegs (Turkic). Hungarians have a long history of trying to do the right thing, but then failing cause of bad allies. So they have trust issues. Another example is Sigismund's final crusade against the Ottomans, this was pretty late into the conflict, and is often considered the last crusade (and often isn't even considered one, it was really just an anti-Ottoman coalition). The Hungarians preformed admirably, but apparently the French felt like leeroy jenkins and decided to, well leeroy it. They just charged the Ottomans, with no understanding of how disciplined or smart the Ottomans were, and not listening to the more experienced at fighting Ottoman Hungarians, this led to a huge defeat and the Hungarians would not recover from this. Not the last time the Hungarians would be screwed by the French as well. Fast forward to the end of WW1 and we have the Treaty of Trianon, the worst most biased treaty ever written, it makes the Treaty of Versailles look good, and that treaty sucked too. Basically Hungarians lost all borderlands and were nerfed even harder than the Germans and Austrians were at the end of the war, which seems kinda unfair. Then you realize why, French are Romans (kinda), Romanians are Romans (kinda). Back then there was a big push for Pan-Romance language pride, sort of Pan-Latinism, and France wanted a fellow Latin to have more land at the expense of the Hungarians. This was the most unfair part of the Treaty of Trianon and areas that were clearly Hungarian majority and part of Hungary for around 1000 years were given to Romania for no reason other than French bias for a fellow Romance language. They had no good excuse or justification for ripping apart Hungary as aggressively as they did, especially when Germany/Austria were much more to blame, and in my opinion, so were the Russians. For me WW1 goes Germany/Austria>Russians>everybody else in terms of blame. People don't blame the Russians as much as they should for that war, as they were heavily involved in the Balkans just like the Austro-Hungarians were.
Just saying, there's nuance to history, don't be so quick to pass out judgement and division, we in the Free World need to stick together, division is what Putin and Xi Jinping want. I do hope Hungary stops being so pro-Russia and moves back towards the Free world regarding foreign policy, but they do have some legitimate concerns especially regarding the Hungarian minority in Ukraine. How can you tell it's legit? Well, because Romania also has the same problems, when the Romanians and Hungarians both agree on something, and say it is a problem, good chance it is, as they never agree on things, so if they do, it's probably true. Romanians and Hungarians are being caught up in the same language laws that Russians have been, I understand why those laws exist for Russians, I do, Russia invaded Ukraine, but Ukraine wants to be allies with Hungary and Romania, it's totally different, the minorities need to be treated with more respect if you all want to be part of the same Union and Military Alliance. I think these concerns can be met fairly and all that needs to happen is for Orban and Zelensky to have meetings, diplomacize, have a little give/take, and come to an agreement regarding each of their concerns. There has to be a way for both of them to win, and it has to happen, NATO has enough inside beefs already with the Turks and the Greeks. Squash the beefs, is my point. US can help with that but at the end of the day its up to Hungary and Ukraine to find a way to friendship, and BOTH of them do need to make compromises. Orban's complaints regarding minorities in Western Ukraine are fair, just like Zelensky's complaints that Orban is appeasing Russia are also fair. Both should be taken seriously and respected.
I do wish Hungarians saw foreign policy more like their most loyal ally Poland does. Poland's the only one to not give up on Hungary, they don't give up on anyone it seems, true gigachads they are. America has been pretty nice to Hungary, but definitely not as nice as Poland has been, but yah, not sure why Orban is trusting Putin, crazy if you know the history and how Orban was one of the first anti-soviet empire speakers in Hungary.
There are actually many shared interests and similarities between Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, and even the United States. I hope we can pursue these common interests and goals and maybe even do space stuff together in the future, but first, these beefs need to be squashed, that may take a bit of carrot/stick on all sides, but at the end of the day the goal should be for us all to be allies. Right?
It’s an autocracy. Orban has gerrymandered districts, has the state media reporting in his favor, and stacked the courts in his favor. This is why the Rt Wing in the US has said Hungary is a country the US should emulate.

Finno-Urgs are similar population to Native Americans, maybe a bit bigger, but still, small population, why are they being pressured to take so many refugees? Poland too, they have higher population, but one of the worst demographic population pyramids in Europe, why? Why them? Why not UAE? Lebanon? Egypt? Saudi Arabia? Why they do nothing while Hungarians and Estonians and Poles are told they are bigots for not taking in Muslims?

@@msavina9129 yes I'm well aware, but there were other things in my points too, my point is, Hungary isn't all wrong for its opposition to EU and Brussels, though I do wish Orban was anti-Putin, but I also think Orban and Zelensky need to get in a room and settle the beefs, and Orban does have some legitimate concerns regarding the Hungarian ethnic minorities in Western Ukraine (as does Romania regarding their ethnic minorities in Western Ukraine).

Some who know hungarian history will know that many hungarians, after 1920 and the imposed Trianon agreement, became citizens of another country. So Hungary then lost 2/3 of its lands and many millions of people which now are living abroad but still live their hungarian life abroad and speak their hungarian language. These are living in neighboring countries like Ukraine, Romania,Slovakia, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia. So actually more hungarian descended people are living abroad from Hungary than in Hungary. So, many years ago the Hungarian government decided that hungarian descendants abroad could get back their citizenship if they could show up hungarian birth certificates first and second generation, in order to make it possible for them to move to Hungary as they would be considered as hungarian citizens. This is quite a normal procedure and who can blaim them!?
However there is another possibility to buy a hungarian citzenship for rich people who wants to start business in Hungary, actually in the same way you can do in the US, and this will also make it possible to do business elsewhere in the EU. Maybe this loophole made it possible to enter the US from countries unwanted in the US, but with Hungarian passports. Maybe even for Ukrainian citizens with Hungarian passports. There lives about 150.000 hungarian descendants there who could have used one of these methods. Well the problem in this case was that Hungary would not disclose to US administration who these people were. Would US have done it if Hungary asked for the same information the other way of thousands of people?
