Been playing a lot more beater recently and have found the shooting star to be a pretty good broom. Really good health regen helps with tanking battles against opponent beaters, and the speed stats mean I can quickly get around the pitch and into position to cut the seeker off etc.
That’s just my personal preference though!
In the game's official discord server people have compiled a chart that shows what every broom's stats in every category are, when fully upgraded.
I recommend just thinking about which stats you are looking for the most, and then consulting the chart to get your ideal broom.
As an example: As a Chaser i'm a bit more defensive and controlling, which is why I personally look for boost efficiency and acceleration the most, with speed, maneuver speed and dodge cooldown being nice to have. Health, Health regeneration and stun multiplier aren't super important as good beaters don't tend to focus chasers that much. That is why for me, the nimbus is ideal. If you play more aggressive, your stat preference might vary, so a different broom might be optimal.
I use the Firebolt for the seeker cause the speed and agility, Legacy Broom for Chasers & Beaters which has the highest balance of stats, and the Stormcaller for the keeper with that high agility since he doesn’t need the speed
But of course the traits/skills you choose with your 10 points is also going to influence which broom is best for you.
I’ve yet to lose a game yet both against bots and PVP

Nope. Keeper pretty much only needs maneuver speed and health
