  • Now that everything is hooked up to the engine, and all components are secured, I slap a basic tune into the new MS2 ECU, and take the Z for a shakedown on my neighbors private roadway.

    Could you post something on how you hooked your laptop up to the ECU for tuning? That would be good info also. Where do you live, wish you'd do all that to my 83

    What reason or necessity of Turbo distributor and shaft? Im about to M/S A 81' 2.8 zx. I want to go turbo. Will it work? & why the distributor? Please explain?

    • @HooliganGarage-650
      @HooliganGarage-650  4 года назад

      It's because the turbo dizzy utilizes a crank angle sensor and trigger wheel, which is needed for MS to control timing. The shaft has to match to dizzy as well because the socket that the shaft slips into is different.

    Any plans on forced induction? If not, why waste half the VE/Timing/AFR tables with KPa you'll never see. You could make 110 the top value and have a lot more resolution for tuning. Just a thought. If you are adding boost then never mind me. Love your S130!

    So how much better is the MS vs stock and what was the total cost and what does it control (fuel, time, boost if it were turbo)? I have a few 280ZXs and have thought about the MS, one is going to be a stock turbo conversion.

    • @HooliganGarage-650
      @HooliganGarage-650  4 года назад

      You basically choose your functions and controls when you build the kit. You can have all the control you want. Fuel, timing, boost control, 2 step, detonation control, idle control, and the list goes on.

      Hello,
      I recently performed roughly the same thing. I have a 1983 280zx NA that originally had a flat top piston engine in it with a P79 head. I ported the intake runners and exhaust runners (removing the exhaust liners too) also ported the intake manifold and throttle body. It is all back together with a dished pistons bottom end from a 1979 280zx. The engine runs smooth with the oem computer. Not sure what all you have tried with the car, but you might want to try checking to see if the cam timing is off a tooth. (Just a suggestion)

    Hi, just bought a CA 280ZX. Will the mega squirt pass smog if tuned properly?

    • @HooliganGarage-650
      @HooliganGarage-650  4 года назад

      Yep! It's all in the tuning. As long as all your emission controls are working and installed, Put timing at 9 degrees at 800rpm, 48 at 2400, 13.7-14.1 AFR at idle, 14.6-14.8 at 2400 rpm (No load) and you should be set as long as the tech doesn't sense you have an aftermarket EFI.

    • @datsoon9236
      @datsoon9236 4 года назад

      Most states don't even require emmisions once you have it done once. You don't have to get it smog inspected every year on cars that are this old, which is very nice.
