Wow wow and wow. I felt so anxious for you all and it’s not even my boat. I can’t believe the positive attitude you still have after so many headfucks. You truly deserve the best of the best of sailing life once this is all over. Rob
Getting closer! You folks have the strength of positive thinking! I have enjoyed watching, but I’m amazed with your age and your motivation! Skill set was also a great surprise, but that was increased because of your motivation! Growth is in the trenches and not on the top of the mountain, but you are almost where you can peak over the top! I have enjoyed watching your struggles, and that doesn’t seem kind to say, but my prayers have also been for y’all! Thank you for the opportunity to view this❤
We all have an attitude that if you want something in life you have to work to make that happen, and believe it's important to try to only see success and find the paths to it, rather than letting yourself be consumed by worrying about failure 💪⛵️ Every step we've done the best we could with the information available at the time but will be glad when this is over and we can finally just enjoy the boat!
Thank you for the great video updates on the adventures of owning new catamaran by a company not really wanting to be responsible to have great people like you and your family. I really hope you get the Christmas present by being able to launch and start really enjoying your rebuilt catamaran. Love the artwork on the bow.
Heads up, you can see your goal from the top of the mast...., working around lifted, floating, and some loose rattling bits without hard hats, glad it is on and upright.
Absolutely unreal.... You folks are absolute rock stars. Had it be me, I'd be suing their collective asses off. Robertson & Caine should be ashamed of themselves for allowing a NEW boat to go out on the water in such shape. How many others have similar issues? Yes, I just watched another channel yesterday which had other Leopard construction issues and dealing with that aftermath. Sailing Utopia. I've only seen one video so far, but I'll watch more. And I'm not touching their tactics (I think that's the right word to use) in avoiding having to come clean for what they are responsible for. ALL Warranty issues and given the depth and amount of time off the water you have been BECAUSE OF THEM... Your warranty period hasn't even started in my mind, you still have a Full Warranty as per date you're that you are comfortable 'the primary repairs are complete ~ we'll accept the boat in this state and move forward from here.' Boom ... warranty starts. There NEEDS to be Maritime Law - Lemon Laws, which means they would be globally binding.
I just want to say how marvelous you all have been through this entire re-build of your (already brand new) yacht. I had a good laugh once or twice when you were talking about Jonguea? I think his name is lol but a couple times I thought I heard John Wayne 😂😂😂 God bless you all, I pray you are enjoying your home now somewhere beautiful ❤️ ~love from Michigan~
Still in Trinidad for now but hope to be out on the water very soon! Jean Gui is a short version of his name but knowing him he wouldn't mind John Wayne 😂 We visited Michigan last year (A close friend lives there) and were only just talking about when our next visit might be :)
That's cool, there are quite a few cruisers that I watch who come to Michigan from time to time or have friends or connections here it's kind of wild..... And next time you get up this way maybe we can meet up, take you out to dinner or something fun.❤
I’m amazed that you lifted the mast at night. So many places (like here in NZ) would have prohibited the lift due to Health and Safety regulations. Love your videos 👍👍
Yeah it was a lot harder to work through than the video portrays. I'm personally at the worst place I've ever been having to deal with this mess. Great video by Teesh
Trent you sir are a stronger man than many I have met in my life, Your passion and commitment is admirable. Those around you and those you touch in passing are some of the luckiest people. You are loved by many and likely envied by more BUT always remember any step in the direction of your goals is a step in the right direction no matter how hard it seems. You are nearing the finish line in this saga stay strong. Much love to you and the crew from back here in Qld.

This video came across my feed. I was not a subscriber. Out of curiosity, i watched the video thinking I may have watched another episode of your videos a long while back.( What i recalled is a sailing channel that bought a new catamaran, needed warranty work, someone in the boatyard helped get your dinghy off your yacht, or loaned you a dingy, and you guys then went swimming). After all this time, I can't believe you have had this much trouble with a brand new boat, and that the manufacturer has taken over two years to rectify these serious issues. It also seems crazy stupid the manufacturer would rush the mast install date and to the point of craning it onboard in the dark. I dont know if you have any further recourse against Leooard, but i definitely would be talking to various attorneys. It might also be wise to have the mast and rigging inspected by a 3rd part rigging company. That way, if future problems with it, after you guys self installed, liability would fall back on Leopard. A new channel subscriber here.
Yes that was our video! A local Trini who's become a good friend lent us a trailer so we could use our dinghy to escape the boat yard and warranty work every now and then - we just spent Christmas with him actually :) It has been a long, arduous experience trying to get our boat fixed, with the mast only being one part of what's gone on. We only just relaunched after spending almost 648 days on the hardstand, and that's just this haul out - we've had 3. This video was the second part of the mast installation so I can't remember if I mentioned it here as well, but the French rigger Jean Gui who worked with us to install it isn't from Leopard, he's actually from ZSpars who manufactured the mast. He did a great job with the installation and since relaunching we've checked the rigging tension ourselves as we went and brought the same tension meter the boat builder uses - not all riggers have one but it's essential for proving your rig meets spec.
when you do post production do you do your audio mastering with headphones or IEMs? There are some parts of this video/export that have audio in just one channel that need to be flattened to mono. Congrats on FINALLY being a SAILBOAT again.
Headphones then a final watch with the laptop, usually trying to listen to it over the sweet, sweet sound of grinders and sanders 😅 We've just got lapel mikes and are working them out (seems to be the source of the mono) but to be honest haven't dedicated the time to it yet because editing is being fit in where I can between boat jobs. Thanks, feels good to be a sailboat once more! 😁
We've spoken about it before in other warranty videos which are in a playlist to make it easier. If we knew at the start what we do now we never would have bought this boat, but we can only make the best decisions with the information available at the time. Two years ago, we thought we were almost at the end, we had no idea what would be revealed and repaired here in Trinidad, much of which hasn't been shared yet.
After all these horrendous acts of negligence by Leopard, will anybody ever trust them again. I’m afraid they’ve chopped off all the hands of future potential buyers. Unbelievable
Seeing first hand everything they have done to Trent and Tynan, much he didn't want published until they had a chance to make things right, they should just hold their hands up and refund the product. Considering how much has been redone, they should be ashamed to want the boat back for the refund.
It's hard to find copyright available music that everyone likes so I try to minimize it but videos without music do not do as well. I'll be able to hear the sound leveling better from next week on too so will keep this in mind - it seems we've FINALLY finished all sanding and grinding of the hull, a near constant background noise that I am so happy to be rid of!
Being able to buy this boat in our 20's was the realisation of a huge amount of hard work and making many focused decisions directed at a common goal. Instead of sailing and enjoying life at sea though, we've spent years fixing disgraceful and at times dangerous workmanship that rendered the vessel unseaworthy for extended periods of time. When we walked into that shop Trent'd had about 3 hours sleep in the past 30+ hours and was over it, but he powered through and without his technical abilities there's no way that mast would have gone on! If you aren't that familiar with our story check out the warranty playlist, gives you a fair idea of how poorly a boat build and the ensuing warranty process can be executed, and the toll it takes. 👍⛵️
@ What a silly comeback. My name is Eric William but what does my name have to do with your “Saga”.. What I see is that in every single video you put out it is always an issue. Always someone else screwed up or could have done it better.
@@momosworld7312 I've followed this channel for quite a while now. It's clear they got a raw deal from the company which they bought the catamaran from. They've had no end of problems with the company which has finally capitulated and dealing with the issue. It's great that they're documenting it on this blog. I'm not their apologist but If you watch it, the problems are real.
@@momosworld7312 But Eric, that is the reality they have been living for 2 years, a long "saga" of problems and mistakes all created by Leopard. It is the outrageous number and degree of defects from Leopard along with their Deny, Defend, Disappear strategy that make this story so compelling along with the unbelievable fortitude and positivity of these 3 owners to keep pushing through doing whatever it takes to get their life, their investments their time their dream of sailing back on course. There are few new boat owners who could have survived this mental, emotional, physical and financial endurance test. I have no doubt these 3 have been tested and almost broken numerous times but kept the cameras off hoping they could recover and soldier on for the next little victory followed by a new major problem. The glass half full in this saga is the incredible ability of this crew to find a way to smile and laugh when they aren't crying and pulling their hair out. They are truly an impressive team I'd want on my side in any disaster situation.
@travelsketch That sucks that videos without music don't do as well. For me, I love to hear real-world sounds.
