@@carmantony0811 Yes I've used that before. Truth is, nothing cleans like the agitator machines of old. I never had ruined clothes and the rinsing was awesome. I have a front loader LG that is really good, so I am truly blessed. Thanks for the comment!
I believe that if we want a traditional agitator wash for normal clothing, we need to select the Deep Wash cycle because the normal cycle is in compliance with HE.
Deep wash does nothing but add more water, which adds more weight. The washing machine compensates for this added weight which reduces the speed at which the impeller/agitator rotates. It doesn’t get clothes any more clean, in fact in my experience, it performs worse than the machine does when it’s in compliance with HE.
Even tho this washer has an agitator, the clothes were “blooming”, instead of rolling towards the agitator. Maybe it washes differently when more water is in the tub, and the agitator can grab hold of the clothes...I don’t know. Anyway, LG can keep it.
I've recently just did this on my past few loads on my old washing machine. Look for the contact point for the closing lid and put a magnet over it and you might here a click that signals to the internal computer that the lid is down. Then you'll be able to view your clothes being washed. My current washer doesn't have a see through top lid.
It's likely people are overfilling the machine with clothes? I know the impeller machines you need to fill the drum about half full right? It's not designed to wash a drum packed full of clothes.
Nope. Only thing I can think of, is to tip the machine over on its side so the clothes tumble in the water, then things can't float on top and not get wet. It would have the added benefit of better agitation, and if it got out of balance it could just stop and start again, rather than beeping and giving up and asking the human to come over and reach in and move things around! Someone should invent something like that, a washer that tumbles clothes! What a novel idea!
@@justinejahlove yes! And my laundry doesn’t get clean! I think it’s the lack of a center agitator. I have a dog so he can get things pretty dirty - especially bed sheets. It doesn’t have a soak cycle (turns itself off and drains). So I end up soaking and scrubbing by hand. I’ll probably take a couple of loads to the laundromat to see if I can get them cleaner.
Do you think this holds the same amount as the non-agitator one? I don't feel the agitator makes much of a difference so I'd rather be able to put in more clothes or a large comforter
The agitator takes up 0.2-0.4cubic ft. That’s not much. Depending on brand. If your clothes aren’t heavily soiled then the agitator and impeller wash virtually the same. I work in a lot of dirt and mud and an agitator is a must.

I never understood those functions on american washing machines: how hot is "hot" and how cold is "semiwarm"? I set mine at 40 degrees for colours, but 40 degrees water may scald me. And how low is "low" spin and how high is "extra high"? 800 rpm? 1600rpm? And olive oil stains on my trousers is normal soil? And sweat on my underwear? And blood drops on my pillowcase? Maybe extra-extra heavy soil. (Blood only goes away with cold water and I mean from the fridge)
Unlike European washers, American washing machines don’t heat their own water but rather get hot water directly from the tap. The vague temp descriptions are directly related because the temperature depends on the facility’s water heating system. American washing machines have two water inlets: one for the hot and one for the cold, unlike European machines, which only have a cold hookup. The max spin speed on the LG toploaders is 950rpm. The vague spin speed descriptions may be due to most Americans being English speakers. In other parts of the world, a more universal spin system makes more sense due to sheer language diversity.
