Reggie speaks with citizens of Ferguson, Missouri, where the police shooting of an unarmed black teen sparked outrage and activism.
A year on from the death of Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager killed by a policeman in Ferguson, Missouri, Reggie Yates examines the position of African-Americans in US society. Brown's death, in addition to other incidents of police brutality, shocked the world and led to sustained rioting in Ferguson. Reggie visits the small town in America's Bible Belt and discovers that the death of Michael Brown have politicised a new generation of young activists. He seeks to find out from the citizens of Ferguson whether the community can ever be healed. Reggie looks at new police recruits being trained but goes on to discover how African-Americans are still being discriminated against.

we the people should know that the police is all self funded. yeah you can argue the fact but it's pretty simple the fines add up to money for the greater "good"
Unarmed does not = not a deadly threat.
Example: Hitting the officer in the head and winning the fight. Or Fighting over the officer's gun. Or choking the officer.
generally speaking yes an unarmed man can be a direct threat to an officer. but in this case, it's a 14-year-old kid. shot 10 times. 6 to the chest and 4 to the neck and forehead. there is a direct intent by the officer to kill. he could have easily shot him in the legs. the kid would have dropped to the floor and been handcuffed. Although I'm white, I don't see al justification for using such force on an "unarmed man"

It's not easy t 5:06 o live in the US . Of course it's not right to kill. But Michael Brown also tried to reach for the officers gun. It's not allowed to talk about that. He was also stealing from the store he was at which is why the cops were called.
He shouldn't have stolen from his community.

Not necessarily. A friend and I were robbed at gunpoint one night after dropping my son at work. Guy climbed rt in my car. After it was over she's crying shaking trying to dial. I snatched her phn and said think about it they only took our money, cc, IDs, if we involve them they might take our lives. We didn't call. I didn't call when someone followed me out of a drugstore and stole my prescription. No I promise you we all don't call them.

Cops don't care, I was 15, and was beat for nothing, beat by 6 police with Billy club, all for looking like a possible person of interest on a failure to stop at a stop sign the day before.... Over 24 hrs later, bloody me with 2 broken rib, and black and purple bruisin was hit with 3 felonies. There said I ran, and jumped a fence and suffered my injuries, and they said they were forced to subdue me. Btw , imma a white male raised in S. Dallas Tx. Oak Kliff 💪

These racial tensions have been going on for decades in just about every state. Some are worse than others. There are racists on both sides. But let's be honest. The whites created this situation.
The younger generation is probably unfamiliar with what it was like growing up in the 70th. which was far worse.
I grew up in Boston which was extremely racist. if anyone got a chance to see the movie The Departed. That tells the whole story. (based on truth) a black person could not sit in a white restaurant or a white nightclub. the Police themselves were racists.
if you were Italian living in Boston? you had no chance of becoming a police officer. Very divided city. with a lot of hate.
in southern states, it was even worse. and still is til today.
that's only one of the endless examples across the country. I found the east coast and the Midwest to be more racist than the west coast.
