I saw it in person, played a little with it. It is a lovely radio and the screen is superb! The buttons feel good and the overall build quality excellent. It should be on the wish list of everyone wanting to go portable. I personally own the 991A and the IC-7300 and would love to have one of these to go out with.
Hi Peter, thanks for the nice review and especially the demo of a QSO. The spectrum and waterfall looks wonderfull there. Xiegu should use your settings instead of the default grassy spectrum which needs some mowing by raising averaging. :-) Cool radio though! 73, Erwin
Thanks for this and the ririg looks pretty impressive. However, X-6100 was a failure in several fronts and without addressing those shortcomings Xiegu have launched the X-6200. Got to wait and watch. Cheers! New Delhi
I own the Xiegu x6100 for a couple of years now and for me thats a great qrp rig. And with the R1CBU firmware i can operate ft4/ft8 on the x6100. RX AND TX!!!.
I own the Xiegu X6100 for a couple of years now as my qrp rig and its perfect for me. with the R1CBU firmware it runs rx and tx FT4/FT8 Oke the x6200 has a higher resolution screen as nd a removable battery but then again only 4/8 watt as the x6100 has 5/10 watt. But hey, i get it, it supposed to sell.
Thanks for the review Peter !
you are very welcome.

Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing peter, looks like a nice wee unit.
Thanks for watching
I liked the "classical" music Peter... well done...
Much appreciated
Hi peter.can you listen to commercial shortwave radio on this i was thinking of getting the tecsun h5o1 but might stretch to this
if you want to listen to Shortwave broadcast stations then the Tecsun has much the better internal speaker.
Many thanks for the review 👍
My pleasure!
Good review
Where can I buy this recevier and how much is it
available end of july... if... maybe autumn
Interesting little radio. It can go portable and with the amp, it could be a good base radio. Does it have a built in soudcard for digital modes?
Yes it does.
What technical improvements are made from the 6100; block or schematic diagram ?
I only had a draft Manual and no circuit diagram. I listed all that I could ascertain.
Ml & s did a review today as well

Well my x6100 is working fine and I use it a lot for portable operation, though mainly for CW.
Yes, the X6100 is an excellent cw performer

My preference is SSB mode.
I believe for the price and low output power, this radio will not be a hit among amateurs
I agree. For me to be interested in this radio it should have an output of 20 watts. I will not be buying one.
Any better than the 6100? Probably not, but lots of hype.
Until we have a more detailed user manual and the final firmware, we won’t know the answer to that.
Very nice for changing battery
I wonder if the ssb tx quality is better than the X6100?

My computer just ask me to go FT-8 so it can talk to other computers.
Zu-eye-goo.
NOT AGAIN!
Seeing is believing.
