I just got this radio, and a Chelegance MC-750, but I'm struggling to get it all setup. Do you mind doing a video where you walk through how you set your actual antenna up? I know it's plug & play but there's still a bit of tuning/tweaking to get it to play nice, right?
Yes, I plan to do a complete setup demonstration in a future how to POTA/SOTA video coming this winter. It's plug and play but some adjustments can be made to your preferences within the settings.
@MrMudsRadioTime Thanks, Mr. Mud! I hope to have a lot of fun with it! The band conditions were junk today. I was getting a lot of noise from a nearby weather station as well.
The X6200 is still pretty new to me. It's definitely a step up from the G90, but only 8 Watts. I've had a lot of fun with my G90 and 20 Watts over the years. I like them both! The X6200 is definitely more feature rich. Great ATU in both!
Man, I miss the QSOs with WW7D. I made a contact with F4WBN from a summit in Belgium the other day, which was great after all those QSOs with Christian from summits in Utah and Nevada. How much does the X6200 weigh? I've been thinking of picking one up, since I'm too poor to afford a KX2 and I'd stress too much taking it into the field. I'm heading down to Italy next week and need to keep weight and bulk down to avoid drama with the Ryanair gate agent at boarding. Taking a uSDX or tr(u)SDX instead of my FX4C, but I'm not real happy about it! Say hello to Derek for me. 73 de K7DMJ
Hey David, I hope your journey is going well. That's awesome that you worked F4WBN over there, too. Christian and Daryl WW7D are some of my favorite chasers. The X6200 weighs 880 grams without the battery. The internal battery is probably 150-200g. I'll pass the message on to Derek. 73
@@W6IWN_Radio Thanks, mate. 880 g isn't much, I guess. Certainly lighter than a G90, which is what I started out with. I haven't got to do many SOTA activations since I've been in Europe, but I'm planning to spend a couple of months staying at my place in Utah next summer, so I'll get out a bit more then. Next week in Italy should be fun. My wife is coming, and she isn't fit enough to do the kind of hikes I usually like to do. But we'll do what we can. Cheers.
@tonioyendis4464 Yes, an amateur radio license is required to transmit. You can use it to receive signals to listen without a license. If you're interested in getting your license, check out www.hamstudy.org. They have a great app to study with on your mobile phone too.
Good activity : x6200 very good for ssb . Reports are good.. Ricky dog is calm and interested by Sota. I have made a test with X6100 and hope to have a 6200. I have had a KX2 also. I suggest you have a small tablet on your knees for activation : I have it and it is a must for writing . 73 alainf8feo

@@W6IWN_Radio Thank you! Hopefully I'll be up and running long before then :)
Here's a video on my antenna setup. I was using a smaller mast, but it's the same setup. ruclips.net/video/fIguv3y1hgY/видео.html
What a beautiful view and that rig is great .
@@FubarX Thanks 😊
I can't wait until the band conditions are good!
@@W6IWN_Radio QRP in nature is best
@@FubarX I agree 👍
Nice view from the summit!
It's really nice up there.
Kick ass on the QRP activation! And France Too!
@@dugbohamradio The band conditions weren't good either. I look forward to playing with it under better band conditions!
😂Nice! I finally made it onto one of your videos!
Woot!

Great video. I have been thinking about the 6200 radio or the g90. How are you liking it? KQ4QIS

@dangermandave67 No problem. Have a wonderful time over there. A summit near saltwater sounds fun!
Maybe we can S2S when you're back in Utah... 73
Elevation 76,000 feet ... 😮
That was a brain fart! I meant 7600, hihi. You could really get out from 76 000 feet 😆

If you get any closer to the mike it will be in your mouth!
@skepticalmechanic I don't want to eat Mike, he's my friend!
It looks like cheap chinese smartphone.
I really like the look and features. The screen is awesome!
