I have that exact setup and it is killer. What the people don’t understand is that with this setup you have the option to travel light with just the 6200 packed or if you want a great pile up then use it with the amp. I have the 7300 as well but it was heavy to take on a hike. Yes it’s and expensive setup but it’s flexible and with the latest firmware update 1.0.3 the wattage was raised on battery to at least 5 watts. On CW on battery I have seen 8 watts and on and external battery I have seen 11 watts at times. I also have the ft-991a and the ts590sg and I also have the x5105 but this x6200 is my favorite radio.

It's a great setup 👌 I need to update to the newest firmware still. I've had my biggest pileup on that setup!

Yes do the new firmware update to 1.0.3 it fixes the 4 watt issue on internal battery. You now get a max power of at least 5 watts I am seeing close to 6.5 watts with it on internal and on external battery as high as 11.5 watts. It is now a KX3 killer with the new update.

For the price and bunch of equipment you could just get the icon 7300 for about $900 and a way better set up. Less stuff too.

Tnx for the video, love that location! What size battery did you use for the radio and amp combination?

Thanks! I was using the internal battery in the radios and a bioenno power 12Ah LiPo Battery. amzn.to/3X7YSNp

The 12Ah is pushing it for that amp. You would get more life out of a larger battery. 15-30Ah.

Where did you get the little radio tent?

What battery are you using and what is the AMPerage draw with both the radio and the Amp? thanks... Art W1SWL

@arthurgumbus3969 Hello Art, I was using the bioenno 12Ah batteryamzn.to/4dIEdpj rated 20amp continuous 40amp peak. The XPA125B specs says: Transmit Current Draw: @ max output 30 Amps
      Current parameters: Standby 260mA @Max Launch: 30A@Max
Receive Current Draw: @ max 700 mA. However, driving the amp with 1-3Watts only draws 11-18amps. The 20Ah battery amzn.to/3zYtl97 would be better for longer operation and 5Watt drive. I was using the internal battery in the X6200 in the video. The radio power consumption is: Standby: 650mA @Max
      Transmission: 3A @Max
      I hope that helps.
