I enjoyed the transition from Ring Master to Stone Cold. The Savio Vega feud was cool too. The Stunner on Vega during the tournament was sold very well.

I got to see Steve Austin wrestle HBK at a house show in late August 1996. I just turned 11 and this was the first time I got to see WWF live. I do remember the whole crowd was very much behind HBK. I took pictures of the event and don’t remember seeing one Austin 3:16 sign or T-shirt but again, I was only 11 at the time.

I loved how he went from ring master to stone cold Steve Austin I loved his first feud in the wwf with savio Vega. Those two had some great matches with their beware of dog match being their best match. Also loved his mini feud with Wildman Marc Mero those two had some good matches as well.
Steve went on record to say that he liked working with Vega because he was a good worker. If you got in the ring with Savio it was gonna be easy. He sold the moves and was going to protect you from getting hurt.

This is the first time I've seen it acknowledged that Stone Cold's blowup was kind of a slow-burn, and not an immediate overnight thing.
As I remember it, 3:16 is when fans really started to take notice of him, but he still had a little ways to go to become The Guy.
I was very surprised when Austin won the king of the ring tournament. At this Time he was a newcomer in the WWF , i thought vader Would won the tournament. But when Austin won and After his promo i realised he was good and i became fan.
Back in the day, even when stone cold was a heel, I never met anyone or heard anyone say they didn't/don't like him.

I remember being in youth group and they were talking about how "evil" wrestling was and they mentioned Austin 3:16 being a mocking of john 3:16 and people gasped at the realization 😂😂😂

The first ever WWF house show my dad took me too had Shawn Michaels vs Steve Austin as the main event, despite Sid being the champion at the time. Man I didn't know how good I had it at the time.
