- Sony recently forced Arrowhead to make every Steam user on PC create a PSN account in order to play Helldivers 2... the problem with this isn't that there's a third-party account needed to play, the problem is that PSN does not support many countries in the World, therefore lots of Gamers would miss the opportunity to get to play this beautiful Game and it would just get worse for everyone else that had already bought it, thankfully every PC Gamer fought for freedom and Sony changed their mind and reversed their decision.

The accountability Steam holds for their customers is just remarkable, Steam noticed what's the issue and how Sony is taking advantage of Steam users.

Logic: We want the players link/create an account in PSnetwork to play Helldivers, so we can put some skins as reward, or credits, or somethin to encorage the players to do it.

And that is why people, you don't make major controversial decisions on a Friday. Negative opinion last longer as decisions can only be fixed by Monday at the earliest.
HD2 was easily GOTY 2024 but Sony (and Arrowhead to a certain extent) bottled so hard that the trust they had built up will never be recovered to its full extent and remain as a negative remark throughout the lifespan of an otherwise damn near perfect game.

I was concerned when a handful of People who didnt mind the PSN being required and lockin out people who bought the game.. and then again that's twitter. man I thought Suicide Squad, Skull and Bones, Baby Inc., Warhammer, and Tarkov were enough. And that's just the middle of 2024.

Arrowhead knew that playstation was going to make such a move as early as 6 months before release and didn't say a fucking thing about it. They will not regain my trust. This is total hogwash, arrowhead knew the game would be sold in regions that would be blocked and didn't say a word about it.
I think the funniest thing is the free Cape with the negative reviews on it we get to commemorate this massive achievement.

This is a major win, especially for those that would have been cut out of the game over the PSN requirement. Sony needs to open up PSN to those nations if they want to institute that requirement.
I do wonder if there was a feature set they wanted to implement and build out using PSN that they couldn't through Steam's own framework, though.
This incident will be legend in a gaming community for a long time. it is the only time we have ever been able to topple one of the biggest publisher for all to see.

Arrowhead has to take some responsibility for this too guys, because regardless of the publisher, the game was good enough to be successful anyways, regardless of what publisher they went for, but they went for Sony and signed a contract that stated this as a possibility, they knew this could happen.

The worse part about this is had it been implemented is that when you create a psn account on phone and don't log into the psn account once atleast through a ps4 or ps5, Sony disables the psn account after some warning.

Ngl I just thought about the account requirement by itself and though everyone was overreacting, but when I realized that countries without psn would LOSE access that's when I got really mad
Not just that but Sony has horrible cyber security I don't know how much it would affect your Steam account but linking the PSN account to Steam is a new threat to your Steam account. If you use the same password for PSN and Steam and don't have 2FA its likely your account would get hacked I think

I doubt they give a single flying feck about negative reviews. It was definitely due to the Steam refunds. I wish steam could also allow refunds in case of false advertised games like Watch dogs 1 , No man's sky, Cyberpunk 2077 at launch, Starfield. World would be a better place and companies would think twice before fooling gamers.

We had 200,000+ negative reviews that dragged the whole game to mixed while recent was overwhelmingly negative. Understand the scale of our achievement people. Your efforts matter, now change that review when you feel comfortably doing so. In my case tonight at midnight, a full 24 hours after I found out.
I like the part where "it takes only a minute to create an account".Going with that logic, imagine for almost every game out there, making an account and have online DRM at all times...even for SP games.You allow them to pull this crap, they will run us over like it was yesterday.Fuck Sony and some others like Ubicrap for pulling off some ugly shit like this.
