@@curie1420 it is a good gpu, just not over built. Solid frame. Vapour chamber with 8 heatpipes, 3 fans, runs cool and quiet. It's built to reference spec which is plenty this generation unlike the 3090s. It will overclock, just not to the extent a more expensive card will and that's not much more. Depends on the game but it'll run at 2910MHz. It can, in reality, chew up to 465W, how much more do you need?

It's truly a moment of all time when the best gpu runs jedi survivor less than 60 fps
RX 7900 XTX can run it at 50 FPS. Jedi Survivor seems to prefer AMD GPUs.

Are you guys serious rn?? Look at the gpu utilization.. he was CPU bound. And muta has a 5950x. So that’s what’s causing it. The 4090 is capable of way more as long as the rest of your system can handle it.

@@tbm7301 It was OK on PC on release. 90% of the problems were on consoles. Sure you can see a few cars flying into the sun but that was more like comedy than game breaking.
Maybe because I played older games first in my life, I don't understand how people always waiting for new games when there are tons of older fun games they could play first and I bet they haven't played all of it so.
Maybe if it's a long run series sure but every new series? Bruh. I'm excited for the new FFs and Armored Core btw.
@@calendar6526 Not just older games but there are countless fun AA and indie games. And gameplay-wise AA and indie games actually innovate more than AAA games. Just take a look at diablo 4 for example. Shit's just a generic arpg. Sure it's a really good generic arpg. But generic nonetheless. And AOE4 was just a straight up downgrade from the older ones.

Still got my trusty 1070, it can still run Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring at high/ultra setting 1080p 50-60fps average. I’m not even sure if i should upgrade to 40 series or wait for 50 series. lol

Ive upgraded to the 3080ti, bought it used for $600 last January.
@@Half-Vampire The 50 series will definitely not be cheaper, most likely the opposite. Either you keep using your 1070 or you upgrade now to 40 if you can afford it, I am currently upgrading from a 1070 to 4070 Ti myself

TBH, the 7900xtx cost the same as the 6900xt and the upgrade is good. The 7900xt's price got slashed. Only the budget card do not look too good. But its not too terrible either. The AMD cards battle against the surplus of old gen that have been discounted a lot. This overlap in price to performance is normal but this time it last waaaaay longer. Just remember when the 20 series launched, everybody wanted a 1080ti at 500$, then things got back to normal after 2 to 3 month.
i dont know about you but amd gpus have been great, $260 for a 6700 is the greatest deal..... amd msrp is just the garbage part

@@wateo1782 If every card had twice the memory and appropriate memory bus at the same price the price would be good. As it stands the price doesn't really matter to me. Any price they'd sell at isn't worth it as an upgrade from my current GPU. I just have to deal with not playing the games that are apparently deisgned to run on 60 series cards. It's not like there's any shortage of games that aren't.

Back in 2010 i could play cod mw 2, having 1 core 2.6 GHz Pentium IV CPU, 128 mb GeForce 6200tc GPU, 512 mb ddr2 (probably even ddr1) of RAM and old ass HDD with good FPS

@@H31MU7 Haven't played it, not my type of game, but it does require a DX12.2 capable card, which my old RX 580 was not.
Just play older games. I have a brand new top spec PC and after playing some of these new games.. honestly I think the older games were better. So now i’m playing a bunch of old games and having way more fun. The new games are too focused on graphics and not gameplay. And they’re mostly all linear movie-games or fetch quest games. They just have a skin of new graphics on top of very jank or boring gameplay mechanics. For example.. gta 5 a 2013 game is more advanced than most new games out now. The ai, the open-world, the detail.. sure it doesnt have the latest fancy ray tracing stuff like cyberpunk.. but it’s actually a FUN GAME. Personally I like gaming more than watching movies, and new games are movies disguised as mediocre games.

You think software updates decreases the performance of Nvidia cards intentionally to make look their new generation better?
No need, Nvidia just uses gated software like Frame Gen to make their newer cards look better.
And here I am still using my 1080ti with no problems for the games that I find interesting to play. All I needed to do was clean it, add new thermal paste, and its running smooth since the day I got it.

Still glad I got a 6700 XT last Christmas. Easily one of the best decisions I ever made with my money even if it did cost like 400 bucks from Best Buy (I'm probably gonna still be gaming on that card when I get out of high school)

you can get one if you do summer jobs, cut grass in the neighborhood, you're in public school with very little financial overhead. Easy savings for you.

@@xenon42069 You can get a better PC for FREE if you know where to scrounge for e-waste. Keep the best stuff you find and sell what you don't want on eBay or JAWA. Then use that money to buy used parts to complete the build. I ended up with an Acer motherboard, 8gb of DDR3, a name brand 450W PSU, case, and a laptop HDD. I sold some laptop parts, an Asus AM3 motherboard, and a Phenom X4 955 and used the the money to buy a Xeon X3470 and an RX 480. Got Window 10 from using the key off a Windows 7 sticker I found on another discarded system. All in all, no money invested. I ended up giving the thing to a kid I know who was trying to play game on an old i5 laptop. He was very happy.
@@xenon42069 I'm literally throwing out computers at the school where I'm the Network Admin that would destroy that 2009 PC. Check local business or schools. They upgrade their tech quite frequently and you could get something for free or at least really cheap.

The 4060 ti saying that without DLSS it is worth nothing is just 👌. Unfortunately it's completely true. I mean obviously it's not like it's a bad gpu, but THE PRICE. It's always about the price. The 4060 ti would be a great gpu for like 250-300$ .

The "4060 Ti" should have been called the 4050. So, 2 tiers lower. And priced appropriately, at $119-149. It has _less than half_ the die size of the 3060 Ti. Which means they can cut 2 instead of 1 from the same wafer and essentially double their profits. Yet they still try to sell it for a shit ton. Nvidia can go f**k themselves.

i love my 6700 xt I was surprise how good it is running recent games. I enjoyed The Last of Us part 1, hogwarts, cyberpunk, resident evil 4, etc. But if the 6800 or 6800 xt was in stock last xmas I should have much more powerful GPU now. But anyways 6700 xt is still amazing I really loved it!

The only why I would chose Nvidia is because of its support for AI, ML and RL applications. Wish all the things that are possible in this domain with Nvidia cards was also possible with Amd cards but that isn't the case unfortunately
It's becoming more truewith Intel GPUs though. Tensorflow already got support for Intel oneAPI (apparently Google's started using Intel GPUs for AI internally, though PyTorch support is not yet here), and so did Blender, OBS Studio and others too...
The Intel Arc A770 has the same amount of tensor cores as the RTX 4090 (while costing about a fourth of the price)

@@user-nq5hy7vn9k Don't know. Probably software/developing library dependant. It matters what you want to do with it. In case you want AI frame generation in games, this will work better with Nvidia GPUs. Otherwise the software has to support it or if you're a developer the frameworks and libraries that you are working with.
@@d1i2m3 Yeah Intel's GPUs are really promising for AI knowing it's only first gen, I hope their next gen will continue in the right direction (and improves gaming performances of course)
GPU`s are just a side hustle for Nvidia and they can get away with 0 sales and keep prices high forever.
Meanwhile AMD not even trying to win and sells barely lower than Nvidia, they were even going to charge $300 for a 7600 only to notice the 4060 was going to be that much cheaper

They just had to do one thing, sell the rx 7600 for 199$ with small margins of profit, but they would've sell 6X times more doing that and increased their reputation

Bought a 1060 OC with 6gb of ram in 2017, cause opting for more vram would perhaps make it a bit more future proof I thought. Now the demand is like 12gb or more. I just watch the fps plummet and my pc catching on fire. You did good son, you did good 🥲

Our hardware is 6 years old suffering bad electricity and harsh weather and still going strong, while new hardware is cracking and exploding on it's own
And why get stupid game ports when we got Old GTAs and Minecraft, and millions of games from 2020 and earlier back when devs actually cared
And also....
Our economy had 600x inflation in one decade so this a good coping mechanism.
12 GB is enough for raytracing and 1440p. 8 GB is enough for 1080p. Some Nvidia fanboy.

@@afkcnd2395 A 4090 struggles maxing out Fortnite and VRAM goes brrr so dont expect a AAA realistic UE5 game to run well on this garbage 4060, 7600, 4060 Ti, 4070 and 4070 Ti.

Nvidia has been fumbling with their releases.
Nvidia dropped the ball and makes the market clear wide open for the taking
All AMD had to do was release the 7600XT for 350$ and rival the RTX 4070 (because that's the 60 class card with bumped up prices)
instead we got RX 7600 which is the same as 6650XT for 50$ more.
Sadly, i guess I am boycotting gaming for another year.
Next AMD releases will replace the 6700 XT to 6950 XT for $50 dollars more and same VRAM with an amazing 5% performance increase.

they make a good generation (10 series) a horrible generation (20 series) a good generation (30 series) a horrible generation (40 series) and if this trend continues we can expect something good with 50 series, the 3070 is plenty fast for everything i throw at it, i honestly dont feel the need to upgrade at all

2023 is not the year of PC gaming given how the performance of some AAA games was on PC and also the high costs of purchasing the equipment.
Consoles literally rescued the majority of gamers this year. Hopefully things are gonna be better in 2024.

RTX is the biggest "we're screwed".
It's why the 1080 survived this long.
You have a card that focuses more on RT than actual power. Similar to CPUs that have all the cores instead of making a proper main core.
No more new AAA games with best optimization in performance like old games used to do even to improve as little as possible. Meanwhile now there is no AAA game with bugs and glitches on launch along with bug fix release within month became normal.
Also forgot to mention, those apology letters after game release are hilarious.
