    Recently, many have noticed a political ghost haunting Google's search function regarding the unfolding election cycle. The fact is, Google has a hostile environment for those who don't hold politically left views, and this culture has seeped into its products.
    "Google is a runaway, cash-printing search monopoly with no vision, no leadership, and, due to its incredibly siloed culture, no real sense of what is going on from team to team. The only thing connecting employees is a powerful, sprawling HR bureaucracy that, yes, is totally obsessed with left-wing political dogma." -- Mike Solana

      PLEASE, you, and EVERYONE, if you haven't already, embrace the One True Only God YHWH Jehovah, Only One Jesus Christ His Only Begotten Son and Lord and Savior of our souls and the Only One Holy Spirit. God is good. God is love. Jesus is Lord. Jesus IS coming. Your soul depends on it!
      I have seen God act in my life. He saved my soul, changed my heart, changed my mind, helped people through me, took care of people in my life, people I hurt before I found God. God is the only reason I was able to reconcile with my dad before he died.
      God worked through Jesus Christ to save our souls. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. Be baptized in The Holy Spirit, and if He wills, water as well. Repent of your sins, accept God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit into your heart, that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins.
      For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, that all who believe on Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life. No one comes to the Father Jehovah God but through Him.
      Not long after I got saved I prayed to God for help understanding the Holy Bible, and that same day someone knocked on my door asking me if I wanted to understand the Bible.
      The Holy Bible says, "love thy enemy", "turn the other cheek", "If your enemy is hungry, feed him", "if he is thirsty, give him a drink", "pray for those who persecute you", "do not repay evil for evil".
      LORD willing, all humans may commit sin of almost every kind (gay, straight), and that's wrong, and all humans sin, as God tells us through the The Holy Bible, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." The Holy Bible also says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

      I saw this in 2014, this problem on college campuses. I was in college in 2014 in Los Angeles, I saw the active recruitment by the Revolutionary Communist Party, a group of very wealthy older white women, divorced from powerful men and almost universally dumped as bring too old to stay with their powerful spouse, who indeed had younger women now. Using their money available from divorce settlements they "Grey Wives of Hollywood" were now political.
      There were active cliques that searched for professors and students they could dislike. They approached black and other minority groups and gave monthly stipends as recruitment tools. They bought young, poor, students who needed the extra money to get through college.
      Within 1 year, I noticed the white student minority(LosA Angeles City college), was being ostracized by peers who until the last semester were friends but now universally shunned.
      When a straw poll for President was done by my Communications class on this very topic, we asked for a campus election of Presidential candidates. Trump, a non competitor by media pundits, was included at the time as well as the usual suspects in both main party's.
      We did 2 'elections', one a vote by ballot done on the campus yard in person, with anonymity. The other was done electronically via school email. Funny, the number of respondents was very similar where I expected much higher turnout on the e-ballot.
      The results were universal.
      In public, Hillary Clinton was a strong runner with Bernie Sanders, while Trump became a wildcard victor as nobody cared for or liked ANY of the Republican candidates. There were a total of 7 candidates though, 3 Dem 4 rep.
      While Trump was never seriously considered publicly he won universally in the e-balloting before the Republican primary!
      Bernie Sanders became the next best candidate.
      But in public forum at the physical voting booth, only 1 candidate had a chance. Hillary Clinton.
      I noticed, mainly, the actual fear already shown by those against the prevailing socialist dictatorship arising in our future.

      It might be a fact, but the upset has to do with the deliberate confusion of gender and sex. Sex is biological and can be male, female, or intersex (rare). Gender is a social construct and whether or not purposefully, typically boxes one's sex into a set of social norms. Conservatives want to control females into a submissive second class citizenship, whereas progressives want anyone, regardless of sex (or ethnicity while we are at it), to be free of rigid social constructs. They say “I’m off those currently” like it’s empowering.
      With some, it’s actually like dealing with two people or half of one. When off meds. It’s not healthy for them, for what they want, or the rest of society.
      It’s just a free for all and it needs to be reigned in so that people who are actually a THEY have the best chance at life, which currently many THEYs are ruining just for the sake of chaos (for whatever reason I’ve independently heard many Thems say they love chaos and not in an Ian Malcolm way).
      Chaos is literally the opposite of society. We live in a society. And plenty of THEYs are actually rational and normal contributors. It’s always the loud ones who demand they represent everybody else. The ones who sit around silently need to stand up and tell them to sit down.

      To clear up your confusion, the reaction has to do with the deliberate confusion of gender and sex. What she should have said is males are taller on average; Presumably, her being on a panel would infer she understands that distinction.

    • @eufrosniad994
      @eufrosniad994 Месяц назад

      @@BicycleFunk First thing to understand is that the reason people oppose what you said is because gender roles are not an arbitrary social construct. It is built on top of the biological reality. Second thing you need to realize is that the notion of women as second class citizens is a modern notion. Most men and women in history simply had roles they tried to do their best in to simply survive. Women didn’t get involved in hunting, soldiering or farming necessarily because they weren’t allowed. They were simply not interested and frankly would find it infuriating to have to raise the children and educate them while them also having to do such tasks. Speaking of the issue of submission, everyone in society was subject to another. Even today, this is no different. A woman would have to submit to her superiors in the work place and follow their lead on decisions. So the idea that submitting to her husband or her father back in the day was an atrocity lacks the argumentative power you seem to think it has. After all, men were also living in submission to other men and even women when the monarch was a Queen and so forth. So it appears that you are a soul who has the knowledge, but lacks the critical thinking ability to properly arrive at conclusions and make connections with the knowledge you possess. That is not good. Please do try to rectify that habit.

I read articles in trade publications describing how balanced the profession was because it didn't have a long male-dominated history like other disciplines. But over the years, more women would leave for other careers than men. It wasn't a lot, but over time it added up until there were mostly men. Then I think the word got out and fewer women pursued the field. When I earned my Master's degree, there were still a decent percent of women, though less. @johnabbotphotography
      1. I doubt that was their sole reason for leaving. Human action is usually more nuanced.
      1.1 Shortly after leaving the auditorium, they mention that this guest speaker was a "paid" guest speaker -- by student money. They may have known beforehand what his speech would entail, and simply showed up in protest.
      1.2 The contents of his memo consisted of harmful stereotypes. I read some of his memo. Personally, it's largely pseudo-scientific drivel. Why? Because the studies he cites to make claims about sexual difference are not only NOT definitive, but he extrapolates from them to conflate sexual difference with gendered difference. The studies he cites do not make this conflation; they speak to sexual difference: biologically male and biologically female participants. In order to draw conclusions about gendered difference, the studies cited would need to involve participants that identify as man or woman, and as you may or may not disagree with, this is a wide spectrum. Nonetheless, studies that elucidate patterns about gender are not equivalent to those that elucidate patterns about sex.
      1.3 Like most people, he doesn't grasp that the ethos, or ethics, of diversity campaigns is social justice; his memo insists on "demoralizing" diversity, effectively making it financially driven -- which would never work to commiserate those historically and institutionally discriminated against. His point of view on this particular issue can be considered malicious because it erases the very real, and targeted institutional harm that minorities and queer folk are subjected to on account of their identity, or immutable attributes, rather than talent, skill, or merit.
      1.4 The woman beside him follows with a false-equivalence to the effect of 'women are shorter than men,' rather than 'males are taller than females.' It is a dogmatic framing of gender and sex, and one that attempts to erase the possibility of gender non-conformity. Furthermore, not all scientific facts are scientific law, certainly as it pertains to something as malleable and adaptable as human biology. Lastly, his memo was hardly scientific. To follow his speech with a claim about height difference between genders, as if it is factual, can be upsetting. It illustrates that the conversation is ideologically driven, and not earnest. Hope this...helps?
      @markaurelius61
      Everything is thoroughly intertwined. That is an ambiguous claim. The proposition here isn't whether they are intertwined, but that they a) should not be confused, and b) are distinct conceptually, and under the purview of different fields of inquiry: genetics versus psychology. You are entitled to believe that queer-identity is bad. That is the value judgement many of you operate on, for reasons only you can speak to. What I am here to share is that, regardless of it being bad: it and sex exist in different realities. No human expression can change the reality of sex. Sex is genetic, chromosomal. But language, cultural practice, and convention -- social constructs -- have always shaped gender identity, gender expression, and gender roles across several civilizations throughout human history. Edit: I should also add, if your underlying concern is population growth, or the possibility of human extinction, there are far more pressing existential threats than the self-expression of 0.002% of the global population. Climate change, economic inequality, war, pollution are more impactful areas to focus on.

      @zasterheffor the blue-haired gentleman literally raised his hand in response to Heather's "does anyone take offense to this fact [that men, as a group, are taller than women, as a group]"? So, I think it's safe to say that he did, in fact, take issue with that basic statement of empirical truth?? (I can put question marks after affirmative statements too!)
      Also, James' memo was making statements-- whether you believe them to be scientifically sound or not-- on what *is* : observing the reality of our sexual dimorphism-- both morphological and psychological-- is not necessarily a statement of what *ought* to be; e.g. if I state that women, as a sex, are more drawn to people rather than things in how they go about choosing careers, this doesn't mean that I'm also somehow implying that a woman who *does* have an aptitude and interest in robotics, for example, *shouldn't* be allowed to or encouraged to go into that field. You can't on the one hand claim that you have no issue with an empirical discussion on sex-specific differences, but then on the other hand claim that do so is to "promote harmful stereotypes".
