Cleveland is the most under rated brand in golf and has been for years, even their older stuff is excellent, I still play a 10 year old Cleveland driver. Their wedges are probably the only product that get the recognition they deserve.

I tested this today vs. new Ping 430. The halo I got 6100 rpm and 195 yds carry vs. 3800 rpm and 220 yds carry with the ping. This club is super easy to hit but it goes high and spins super high so it wont cut through the wind I imagine. A head wind will take off 20 or 30 yards I imagine.

@@williamshaw8756 I think you just explained why my rpms were so high. It is more likely the shaft difference. I tested on a mat and it is probably easier to hit on a course than the ping since it has a larger face and the rails on the bottom.

Thanks, Average guy, As an 81/y/o golfer whose ball-striking has been declining over the years due to age, back, and hip issues, I was so impressed with your (and others) Halos review, I bought the 6-W set in a senior flex and love them. I added a #4 Halo Hybrid (22*) and absolutely love it, As you suggested, it's hard not to hit it on the screws. I previously played Titleist irons and hybrids but am very satisfied with my Halos, snobs be damned.

Thanks for shedding light on one of the "lesser" brands. I don't mean that as a slight to Cleveland, they're equipment is great...it just seems they are ignored in the world of Titliest, TaylorMade, Callaway...etc.

I think Cleveland makes a great product that fits a lot of people. I think your right about golf snobbery. I’ve played hybrids before they were cool. I have a 6 iron hybrid that is so much more reliable and hits the ball higher and longer than any 6 iron I’ve ever hit.

Great job on these Cleveland videos Andy. I had been thinking and done a lot of research on the halo hybrid irons and went out and bought some. Your video probably put me over the top. Love them! I’ve had Calloway and Taylor Made but these are superb. Highly underrated. I started last year with Cleveland Smart Sole wedges. I will take a serious look at this hybrid too. Still struggling with woods. Thanks Andy!

Good video Andy! I think hybrids are a great option for average golfers, and when choosing between brands it maybe comes down to finding a standard shaft which suits you in terms of height and carry distance, because most of us aren't going to get into shaft swapping after we buy hybrids like we might consider with a driver for example.

Great review Andy. There is definite golf snobbery regarding these. I’ve slowly come over to Cleveland from Titleist and Ping and it’s purely in preference and ease of use. I now have Cleveland’s Frontline putter (+1.5 strokes gained!) as well as Smart Sole sand and chipper (I’m gaining over a 5 hcp on all chipping) and I now have new Launcher 5/6/7 Hybrid and irons. Brilliant kit and I’ve gone from 8 down to 4.2 using them. Just brilliant.

In the last year or so, I have noticed more Cleveland golf sticks in the bags of golfers at my local club.
I have been using their Drivers for two years now ( HB Launcher Turbo 12 and now an adjustable Launcher XL set at 10 degrees). They are easy to hit and I am getting as good as, if not better distance and consistency, as players my age using the big 4 -6 ( including Cobra and Mizuno) Drivers. I recently bought a Cleveland HiBore Driver 10.5 for my travel half set and I am loving it! I have a set a of A flex HB Launcher irons ( several models old now) but as I age further ( now 68) and my R flex single length irons are no longer assisting my performance ( can't hit the distance I expect) the Clevelands will infiltrate into my bag, possibly one club at a time. I think blending the hybrid-irons and maybe Hybrids into the woods-iron clubs gap to get the required inter club distance makes sense. If a club design makes it easy to hit the ball consistently the same distance, why let pride/ snobbery stand in your way.? One lady golfer I know bough a Cleveland Driver, 3 Wood and Hybrid and claims to have dropped 5 handicap points since!
I have a mixed brand golf bag, playing woods and hybrids up to around 30 degree loft. I was playing mainly Cobra clubs until about 2 years ago ( F9 set) but over time the Driver went, then 3 Wood ( replaced by Speedzone/ still Cobra) , I kept the F9 Single length ( best ever universal go-to club) , TS2 7 wood, TS2 27 hybrid, Tour Edge E521 29 hybrid-iron, then 7-LW Milford Golf SL-7 single length irons, Gravity Golf Arc master putter.

Nice clubs. I bought the 3+ Hy wood hybrid a while back to replace my fairway wood and got on with it so well I purchased the 4 and 5 launcher XL hybrids too. The Cleveland wedges I've owned in the past were always more of a premium club, but although the XL range looks to be aimed at the cheaper end of the market I can't fault the build quality.

I saw the 2024 product line up... there will be two hy-woods, a 17 and a 20 degree and it appears they will be 162 and 147 CCs in size vs the current 3 hy-wood is 143 CCs. So bigger heads.. two options vs one.. and with that 17 degree, an option that starts to exceed the distance of a 5 wood without going so low that you need a super fast swing speed to get the ball up.

I bought a new Cleveland Launcher XL driver just a couple of weeks ago. I was looking for something that would suit me, with a regular flex shaft, adjustable loft, good forgiveness plenty of tech and all for a reasonable price. The Cleveland ticked all the boxes. I also use Cleveland wedges and fairway woods. My driver is the Srixon Z785 and I play Srixon ZX7 irons. People who think Srixon/Cleveland are an inferior product because they aren't as expensive as other brands are missing the boat. I just picked up some cleaveland HB launcher irons after hearing how forgiving they are. For some reason I keep hitting the ball with a closed face it will start straight then pull about 20 yards left, never had that issue on my previous set of irons; if anything the occasional shot would go right. So now I'm consciously trying to correct my shot with the irons, wondering if I just need to get used to the club face looking more like a hybird, or I need a fitting.

Great review , I had some of the first halo hybrids given to me a birthday present , yes they did look like an elephant’s toenail but I thought ok let’s give them a try . What a surprise indeed these great little secret weapons were total green seekers. But I have to agree the latest version you have there look just as good as other brands. Good golf should be about what works best for you the player, and not by the marketing hype merry go round or price point.

I got a set of HB3'S, and upgraded my clevrland cbx2's for some smartsole 4's. I added a radspeed 3W so I had to take out a club. Love my 3W so much I took out my halo 3hybrid 19° and put in a radspeed 19°. So we are clear, there is little difference between the cleveland and Cobra htbrid, but I do think I get a touch longer distance with the cobra. That face is HOT on cobra. Now, I need a 5W and want speed rails. Does the cleveland 5wood have speed rails??

I have the opposite issue - I'm actuvely seeking game improvement clubs at all of my local shops, and none of them are even stocked. I rely on videos like these to give me the confidence to order online.

I have a xl halo 3 18 degree hybrid, 3 thru pw hb turbo hybrids, Cobra f6 + driver, taylor made 3 wood (never use). I use 10 clubs only, 77 years old. Playing better now than I did when I was 60. Love these Cleveland hybrids, gained one club length. Do play from senior tee's. Do hit the 3 hybrid about 190. I do play steel shafts 4 thru pw. Not big on grafite. 3 hybrid does have grafite regular shaft.

Hi Andy. I have the 4 and 5 on order. Sadly, there seems quite a delay until delivery but I’m really excited for them to arrive. Even more so after your video. Cheers.

Hi again Andy. My hybrids finally arrived this week. Played with them yesterday and they were fantastic! As you said, they are so easy to hit, they sound/feel amazing and produce really good distance. Am now looking at getting the hy-wood to match. For anyone out there thinking about these, just go for it. Highly recommended!

I struggle with my Callaway 3 wood so I have ordered a Cleveland 3+ 18 degree loft to replace it. This club is supposed to combine the benefits of a 3 wood and a hybrid.

I loved your video on the halo launcher irons. I am very interested in them and have been looking up and watching as many videos on them as I can. If they perform I would not hesitate to put them in the bag. My dilemma: there is no way to try them ahead of time! As amateurs, we do not have access to testing clubs. If I could use a complete set of these for a 1 round test and I loved the results, I would buy them immediately. The trouble is, I cannot afford to drop $900 on clubs I have not tested. I am currently using Cleveland's 2 launcher wedges. Cleveland needs to get the halo launcher irons onto shelves and into demos. Without that, we can't buy them. Thank you for your videos. I love your delivery and your method of sharing

Posted earlier to say exactly the same - no way to get these clubs in France other than untried through online purchase at high premiums for import duties and delivery. No way can I buy without trying, and nobody offers fitting for these clubs, although Halpenny golf offer lots of options, but there's no way to find out which options to choose since nobody can try before buy. OK it's a supply chain issue says Cleveland, but who can buy these clubs blind?

    Late to the party 🥳
I've had the Mashie M2 and M3 hybrids in my bag for nearly 10 years now. Maybe not as forgiving against the newest version from Cleveland but if budget is a concern then your average golfer can pick these clubs up for around £40 a stick. It would be interesting to see a comparison video Andy between the old and the new Cleveland hybrids.

The Halo 3+ Hy wood is a great replacement for someone who struggles with fairway woods .I went wit the Callaway UW ,looked cleaner and I liked the feel better and the shaft offerings were better suited to my game but I was impressed by the Hy wood.

I have the latest rogue driver and i210 irons but still game cleverland hi bore rescues that are at least 15 years old, I know that because I holed in one with the three hybrid in 2007. They just fit and feel good, it would be interesting to try these new hybrids

Andy, first I want to thank you for your reviews... When you did PXG reviews last year, I went and tried them...now I use them and love them so thanks. The question I have for you, because it appears you and I hit the ball about the same distances, is I have a gap between my 4 iron and 5 wood. I am looking for something the carries 200-205 yardage range...7 wood? 3 hybrid perhaps?

I’ve used the Cleveland HyWood for the last two months and really like the performance, it replaces my 3 Hybrid gives me greater length with really good dispersion and again the price is very good.

Love my halo xl irons but go from the 5 iron to a 5 wood and then a 3 wood. I've been thinking about a hybrid but I like my 5 wood to much. If, however, I catch a sale on one it might just find it's way into the bag.

As you have tested the Hybrid and the Hy Wood, maybe you could give me some advice. I have put the Hy Wood in my bag and absoluly love it. I would like to add a Cleveland Hybrid now. Which one should i consider? The 3 Hybrid has 18 Degrees loft as well. What was your carry distance like for the 3 Hybrid vs the Hy Wood? Is the 4 Hybrid the right club to buy if i allready game the Hy Wood?
