IMO, the best review video of this song so far, and I have watched at least a dozen so far. I hope your channel will grow because fans of ESC need & want more quality reviews and quality review never goes unnoticed.
I've listened to some interviews, and apparently playing the guitar with a bow, even if it is unconventional and might seem like it's for comic effect, is a legit technique that produces a unique, almost cello-like sound. I've no clue how it works, but it's great at grabbing the viewers' attention. Apart from that - exact same critique as you, I enjoy it thoroughly, and electronic music's usually right up my street, but "only" give it an 8 purely because I don't give full marks willy-nilly.
A classy pop song. Can easily imagine bobbing to it in the car. However, will it stand out on the night? Possibly not, but juries will probably appreciate it.
I like how you've got more intelligent things to say about the songs than most reaction channels on Eurovision. The two songwriters in the background there seem very inspired by Röyksopp and the guitarist actually based his whole master's degree in music on playing guitar with a bow as giggle-worthy as that may be xD
Great reaction! Was fun seeing you spotting the bandmember playing the guitar with a bow. He's a Norwegian so what to expect. We like our fiddle here in Norway. 🎶😊 Good luck to the Czech Republic in Turn in May
This will go down as one of the most unfortunate casualties of the running order - they seemed to have such a great time in the final, and they made the stadium erupt with light for each 'Where are you noooooooooow?' I felt for them getting 5 points or whatever it was 😭
I thought it was great and I find that this kind of voice for this style of music is rather rare otherwise I agree with you it's not revolutionary but there are changes of rhythm that keep our attention I think they managed to appropriate this style.
Hi Rachel the song is really good and easy listening, by the way is Electro pop with synth sounds and standard 4 chords progression. Not your favorite genre if i remember well.
I usually don't like songs that use just four chords, they always seem restricted. However I think this song had other elements which made it stand out more, and made me sort of forget/neglect to listen out for the chords. That's a good sign :)
This "playing the guitar with a bow" thing is probably borrowed from Icelandic group Sigur Ros, their frontman is playing guitar like that since 90's I think
I would really love you to react to Jezinky by GIUDI and have your thoughts on it. She was featured in this National Final (ESCZ) alongside We are Domi, and I've found her to be the most captivating non qualifier act from this Eurovision season. Maybe once you've finished reacting to all of the other countries. Keep it up with the incredibile work. ❤️
Este año el nivel es una mierda, solo hay 10 canciones dignas de Eurovisión Finlandia, Albania, España, Australia, Austria, macedonia del norte, republica checa, Suecia, Italia y uk

That's so cool :) I should try it out myself. Btw, Malta video coming tomorrow!
@@ThePeaceAround Oh, please do post that if you do and it's worth it!! Rachel goes experimental 😂
@@ThePeaceAroundOh boy, do I have thoughts there... 🇲🇹🇲🇹
It is also an old technique - see Led Zeppelin in 70s :-)
My winners for this year!!! 🏆
I like her voice! Good electronic music. Soft and fresh! 😍 (Love from Italy)

Fan Fact: Her father is Dominik Hašek (NHL goalkeeper)
great and thoughtful commentary!
It's great and will do very, very well with the juries, top three in the semi final at least, due to being a classy, well crafted & performed song.

Very nice song ! Will get points from me (UK).

bop final matriaal top 10 matriaal
The post-rock genre has been utilizing bows on guitars for almost 3 decades. It's finally cut through to the mainstream.

Jimmy Page was doing this in the '70s in Led Zeppelin. It's nothing new.
