Wow, that's a longun' Mike, you must have been ready for your Poncha at the Poncha bar at the end! I think I'll be using this to fall asleep to later, no offence ha ha, it's just really relaxing :)
I'm more of a Nikita kind of guy, and yes I was def' ready for that and a nice bolo do caco, not to be confused as I first did with bolo do cacao! All the best mate and enjoy that slumber.
Walk with us all the way from the centre of Funchal, through Praia Formosa to Cámara de Lobos - the famous fishing harbour full of colourful boats and fine cafes. Do say hello, we always look forward to answering your comments...
Madeira Portugal is another very beautiful place and view of the mountains and the sea was awesome as well as the many businesses with the restaurants and shops to look at Madeira is a great place to walk around Thanks Again for another great video Thank You very much.👋👍☕☕
Beautiful!! I Just booked my first trip to Madeira (from USA) for June '24. I am watching all of your videos and feel like I already know my way around!
Thanks BIAF - It has become very busy, it's true, and at all times of the year now. I've heard that a number of the levadas will now be chargeable in an attempt to prevent overcrowding on them and in the neighbouring car parks.
We did this walk and actually said it was one of our favourite things we did. I call it a 'watching the world go by walk' as you are people watching as you walk if that makes sense. Camara de Lobos was our favourite place too. Ending up getting the bus back.
Thank you for sharing a great walk! We are travelling to Madeira for the first time in a couple of weeks and staying over Xmas. We will definitely take the walk. 😊😊
Ah you're most welcome. How nice that you will be travelling to Madeira over Xmas, a magical time to go. I do have one or two walks showing the Funchal streets at Christmas if you happen to feel like getting in the mood. Have a lovely time!
Hi, it's me again. Simply great video for us as we head off to Camara de Lobo for the summer. A couple of questions: 1) If that tunnel closes for whatever reason (High seas etc.), it seems you are faced with a serious detour back to the main road and 2) that small lido near the end of the video was closed, was it off season? Can you comment - many thanks. Mike T.
Hello again :) If the tunnel is closed, you continue around to the right, heading up to the main road, Estrada Monumental. Just continue along that road and eventually you'll see an alley to the left sign posted for Praia Formosa. I guess it adds 10 minutes, maybe 15 to your walk, but it's not too bad. As for the Lido at the end, it seems to have been renovated in recent years, but I can't remember ever actually seeing it being used. Hang on, let me check our own videos first :) Haha, guess what? Glad I checked - it's open on this one from last year: ruclips.net/video/71U_9a1EMU4/видео.html
The walk was 4kms! I did some of it the other way, stopped at the Lido Boutique Coffee shop, then to the Old Town. It FELT much longer than 4kms or am I getting on a bit!
Hope you enjoyed it Alex? And what a nice stop at the Lido Boutique Coffee shop, they do a rather fine Pastel de Nata I seem to remember. All the best to you and hope to bring you many more.

Looks such a nice walk! What's it like there now? I've heard that Madeira has become very heavily touristed recently...
Thanks BIAF - It has become very busy, it's true, and at all times of the year now. I've heard that a number of the levadas will now be chargeable in an attempt to prevent overcrowding on them and in the neighbouring car parks.
